My original optical equipment audio cord no long successfully connects the Sonos Playbar to the TV. Playbar works fine with other sounds sources. The Sonos Playbar using the original optical audio fails to make a working connection with two different TVs leading me to conclude the optical audio connector cable is the problem. The cord appears to have "female" to "male" plug-ins on both ends of the cord. I am unable to find such a replacement cord from the normal after-market suppliers. Does any one know of a source for Sonos replacement parts? I am unable to find online connection to order a replacement optical audio cord that works with the Playbar. Unfortunately, I now own 3 replacement optical audio cords that will not connect with my Playbar and a TV and the orgianal which connects but does not work.
I recently transfer my playlist from Spotify to apple music but it isn't working properly. should i use MUSCONV tool? anybody uses this before.
I treated myself to a sub for Christmas and one thing I noticed during the unboxing ceremony was how the casing didn't quite fit perfectly together along one edge i.e. the inset panel doesn’t sit flush with the outer casing. It is not something I'd think twice about normally but I am mindful of the premium price I've paid here and so was surprised to see it, not to mention somewhat disappointed given that both sides of the sub will be visible.I have included some photos to help illustrate (although I’m not too sure how well I’ve captured the issue - I think it looks worse in real life) and I was wondering if anyone else’s was like this i.e. is it ‘normal’?
which is more recommended? use sonos roam connected to the electrical current or disconnected since I do not move it from place
With a traditional AV receiver, there are setting to adjust the distance (delay in ms) of the various speakers to align to the main listening position. I’m adding the Play1 to my beam setup, and do not see that manual adjustment. My question is does the auto setup actually account for the difference in distance and adjust delay to time align the system, or just simply adjust volume levels. I ask because my beam will be about 14 feet from my listening position, an the play1’s about two feet.
I’m designing a new apartment and figuring out the best Sonos setup. I do have a bunch of products but want to do it right. Whats ideal setup for each room?To use wireless only? Or a mixture of wired and wireless? Thanks
I’ve recently bought a Sonos Beam (gen 2) and want to connect my other Sonos’s to create surround sound from my TV. I have a Sonos Play:1 & a Sonos one. When I click on “Set Up Surrounds” it states it can’t find 2 compatible devices but I thought both the Play:1 & One can be uses in Surrounds. Is there a way to make these work together?
Some have been asking for another hardware based dedicated Sonos Controller; although Sonos appears not inclined to re-introduce such a device. As it would happen I was watching a YouTube video by Peter Pee wherein he reviewed two products by IKEA. They are the: TRADFRI Hub which is a wireless hub that connects to your home Wi-Fi and acts much in the same manner as a Philips Hue Bridge for smart lights SYMFONISK Music Controller that pairs with the TRADFRI Hub and works with Sonos for play/pause/forward/back/volume control for Sonos speaker(s).The two devices are sold separately or as a bundle. The bundled cost is $51.98 USD. Selling the TRADFRI Hub separately makes sense as it can be paired with other IKEA controllers with different use. There is an app for iOS or Android devices used for setup of the TRADFRI Hub and pairing of the SYMFONISK Controller. All setup components come with the TRADFRI Hub which includes Ethernet cable, USB-A to USB micro cable for power transmission and a 2
I have just purchased Sonos beam gen 2 and i was wondering what speakers i should add for the best performance
Ready to buy a Beam gen 2 and a couple of IKEA surrounds. Want to make sure that I will be able to control the system volume through my Sony xr-55x93j remote which is Bluetooth and not infrared ( (IR).Please advise.
Hi all. What will the audio resolution be with my current setup via S2 app using ‘uncompressed’. Turntable hooked to Sonos Connect > Pair of Play 1’s > Playbar. Thanks in advance.
A few have added bbc sounds, it is not showing as an option for me. I wonder if that is because I am in Australia?
Brand new 75” Samsung TV wall-mounted above fireplace mantel, Beam placed on mantel, centered directly under (and close to) the TV. When watching Netflix/Amazon Prime no issues at all. When watching cable TV the picture flickers on and off. When i move the Beam to the left side of the mantel the flickering stops. As soon as I center it again the flickering resumes. Anyone else experiencing this problem? FYI, unplugging Beam HDMI didn’t help. Not able to unplug Beam power cord without removing the TV from the wall.
I find the slider(s) very cumbersome to use. A landscape mode would probably help. It’s really difficult to turn volume up/down just a little with the slider.Maybe add an alternate method, something like a number with up/down controls, so could change volume in small increments. Either an addition to current UI or maybe an option to use slider or other mechanism. It would also be helpful to see the current volume level, so I can set it accordingly depending on what I’m listening to.
All of my music is stored on a NAS. Format is wav file. Ripped using third party software or WMP. I have a number of Playlists I’ve created using WMP. When I open Sonos it sees all of my music under ‘Music Library’ but none of my playlists. What can i do to make my playlists available?
I just got myself a new Sub (gen 3) and I use it with 2 x Play:3 paired as stereo. Wow! What a difference the Sub makes!I am now considering to replace the two Play:3 with two new Sonos Five (gen 2).Question is: Is it worth the investment? Will two Sonos Five instead of Play:3 significantly improve the experience?
Hi all,I recently purchased a Sonos Arc and have installed it. It’s brilliant, but as I have a very big/long room, I like the front speaker to be louder and bassier.I wanted to check, if I purchased a Sonos Amp, am I able to hook it up to some speakers to it and then use them as front speakers along side the sonos arc?If thats’ not possible, are there any other alternative ways?I’m not interested in having rear speakers; front speakers are more important to me.Thanks
Fairly new to Sonos, and just discovered that my family members must log in with my Sonos account in order to use our home system. Kinda reeling from the discovery. Means:I have to share my Sonos password with each family member who wants to use the system. Each personal Spotify and other service account gets listed in Sonos for everyone. … (more problems and inconveniences I can't come up with right now)I guess my main question is: REALLY, SONOS?Who else has run into this? What are workarounds? Who wants to cheer and vote for the feature request Support is logging for me to make multiple Sonos accounts possible on the same system?Edited to add: And it gets worse. To mitigate the impact of this issue, I've renamed my own Spotify service in the app to my own name. But in the music library, the service is still listed as 'Spotify’. So it's not even possible to visually distinguish our Spotify accounts.
I have mentioned this in someone else’s post but thought this should be a new post/subject.Since updating the software to 13.4.1 both Connects and Connect Amps are flashing red instead of green after a factory reset. They all do reconnect to the system though. Also when muting the light turns red but I have seen that Sonos are aware of this.Diagnostics number: 554887171
Hey there I’m having a symfonisk and a Sonos amp gen2.I’m really surprised how accurate the sound synchronization is working even in my home network. At least no hearable delay with human ears. Can someone tell me how accurate it is? I’m working sometimes with Dante in live-sound applications and they are guaranteeing below 1us time synchronization but it really needs dedicated switching hardware with qos settings because of PTP time syncing. Sonos doesn’t seem to make use of all that. did someone do some measurements ?
I've assigned my Beam 2 to the room “Living room”. Now I've gotten myself a Port, which is also in the living room. But I can only assign it to “Living room 2", and that results in two separate rooms. I can still group them of course, but it doesn't make sense to me that I cannot assign multiple devices to the same room. It's the same with all devices: if I wanted to move one of our Sonos Ones to the living, it would be assigned to "Living room 3” now. Is this the expected behavior, and if so, what's the logic behind it?
Hi - I am setting up an new Sonos AMP to 4 speakers. First 2 speakers: excellent sound.Third speaker: still excellent sound.Fourth speaker: I experienced a severe loss of quality of one of the channels and thus speakers. Monaco SPE-82/HQ 100 watt 8 Ohm speakers.2 speakers on 1 channel thus 4 on 2 channels. Any explanation? Ideally anybody a fix?
I just upgraded to the latest version of the Mac OS, 12.1, Monterey and it no longer finds or connects to the Sonos Roam speaker. It had no problem prior to this latest update. I have tried all the other suggested fixes to no avail.
Would Using ROON for Streaming Apple Lossess to Sonos allow for the mitigation of the lack of HiRes being processed on the Sonos systems?
