I have a Sonos Move and researched connectivity issues I had with it a few weeks back. https://en.community.sonos.com/setting-up-sonos-228990/verizon-g3100-router-verizon-e3200-extender-sonos-move-play-5-boost-6838606#post16416428 Anyway it was just brought to my attention that the Sonos Move can be connected to my SonosNet mesh. Is that true?
I have a Play 1 and a Play 5. Some days after Uverse did a software upgrade, I lost WiFi connectivity to the Play 1. A day later, Uverse did another software update and I lost connectivity to the Play 5. Both work when connected via Ethernet cable. When I pull up the desktop app, I get a ‘cannot find Sonos’ message. I was on the phone for over two hours with tech support, and the problem could not be solved. I deleted the Sonos 2 app and reinstalled Sonos 1, but that didn’t make any difference either. Almost certainly, the problem has to do with Sonos WiFi communication with the Uverse router. PW and router info are all correct in the app, which I checked and re-entered while hard wired. Anybody have any suggestions?
We have a Sonos Move that we both use on WiFi at home and Bluetooth when we take it out of the house. We are 4 in our family and have many different devices (iPhones and iPads) that we like to use with the Move. This means that when we switch the Move to Bluetooth it will automatically connect to one of the paired devices within reach. The problem is that you need to unpair the paired device before you can pair another device. And sometimes it’s a drag to locate the currently paired device and either switch off its Bluetooth or erase the Move from its Bluetooth list! Does anyone know if you can i.e. unpair all Bluetooth devices directly on the Move so we don’t need to waste our time locating the paired device? I have searched for this but haven’t found it. Or is there another way to solve this?
Hi, as the move came out pretty pricey I have built one by myself: It runs very well - I am having problems with the oute power down of powerbanks. The speaker uses to less energy when booting up. Kickstarting it with the power cord helps. I will get one from Mi later today with a low power mode to fix the problem. Here is my how-to: http://tiefenthaler.name/symfonisk/en
Hi, hope to be part of community as soon as the gen 2 will be read. I have selected the Five Model but I have a question. Apart for In Home use that is quite clear (WiFi, connection, app, etc.), I plan to use the speaker with my new Philips PPMax portable projector connected via mini Jack line in input. In vacation I don't have access to WiFi or net connection except the one on my portable phone or tablet. The question is: this speaker works or can be used without WiFi connection using the line in input? I don't want to buy something that I can't use outside home (price very High) but Five is actractive because alone can work as stereo speaker... Thanks to all Rino
How do you interpret serial numbers on a Connect to see if will be upgradable to S2, also S15 has no serial number on bottom?
Hi, I bought a single Sonos 5. I read somewhere that when placed horizontally, it automatically detects and adjusts the way the speakers project the stereo mix -- something like there will be a wider stereo spread. Is this true, does the speaker “know” it’s horizontal? Or is it just a wider “spread” because the drivers and now aligned horizontally?
Hi, I have a Move but it doesn’t seem to charge on a USB-C cable. I’ve bought a brand new Hama charging / data cable with a max output of 3A. it’s plugged into the wall with a regular (Apple) wall plug. But the battery is going down instead of up. and the orange light on the front is not lit… If this is not the cable, then what cable should it be? And why is it not available on your Sonos store?? Regards, Marc
I’ve just purchased a SONOS move, a couple of queries. 1. What is the recomended way to leave the MOVE when not in use and to preserve the battery? Power on, stored on the recharging ring switched on. Power off, stored on the recharging ring switched off. Some other combination.? 2. This is the first SONOS speaker I have purchased with voice activation. Is there any way the Move can be used to control my other SONOS speakers (6x SONOS ONE first gen and 1x Play bar) via the APP?
I use a Play 5 as a TV speaker. I am using the 3.5mm jack input. When there is a power blip or any issue with the Play5, it does not go back to the line input. I have to open an app the select it to play the line input jack. Is there any way to set the default to the line input? Make it power up to this mode? Thanks, Rob
How do I identify if I have gen1 or gen2 devices to check compatibility with S2. Is there any HW version guide or any way to check ? ps; it’s sad. That Sonos didn’t provide any comprehensive guide
Hi, Today Sonos announced the S2 software for their latest speakers. Will the Play:1 and Play:3 speakers be compatible with the S2 release?
Hi, is it possible to use a Play 3 gen 1 and a play 3 gen 2 as either a stereo pair or as surround speakers. Thanks
I have a pair of Gen 1 Play:5s. Can I hook these up to a Port and use them with S2?
I already own two S1 speakers. Is it possible to pair them with a Play 5 Gen 2? And is this a good option for a good back yard/ patio party sound with some decent kick for our wedding? Or is there a better option? Thanks in advance.
I’ve been a Sonos user for a number of years and have 2 systems, one at home and one in the country cottage. Everything works fine on both system. I get a Move to play outside by the deck at home and will bring it to the country cottage by the lake. Here is where my problems start. i hook up the Move at home and all works as well as all my other Sonos speakers. Weekend comes around and we go to the cottage. So I initialize the Move to the Cottage Sonos system and all is good. After the weekend I bring back the Move to the house, and my home system can’t find the Move. I have to look for missing speaker, very cumbersome and time consuming. But maybe I missed something on the first try. All is good at home. So the next time at the cottage my system can’t find my Move, I have to go through it all the sit-up again. Come back at home and again it, y home system will not find the Move. This has gone on for the past 3weekends and I’m dumbfounded. This has to be easier and not as time con
Hi everyone, I just installed my Sonance outdoor speakers powered by the Sonos amp which will be able to provide the sound for my outdoor TV. I have a fire pit that is a little bit away from where the TV is but in plain view of the TV. I wanted to know if I bought a Sonos move would I be able to pair it with my amp to here the sound of the TV so I don’t have to blast the outdoor speakers to loud that my neighbors will complain?
I have 3 Sonos play 1’s and a Play 3. Never had any issues before but recently when try to adjust the individual speaker volumes it plays up. For example if I try to turn down the kitchen speaker I pull the bar to the left to lower the volume and it either bounces back to where it was or it turns down the volume for all the speakers the same will happen if I try to increase the volume on one speaker it will either bounce back or turn up all the speakers. Any one know a fix for this?? thanks

I appreciate that the Sonos One SLs are not originally designed to be computer speakers but is there a way that I can use them that way? My laptop recognises these speakers under “Bluetooth & other devices > Wireless display & docks" but I cannot seem to get the speakers recognised as audio devices to be able to connect to them. However, there is no issue accessing the speakers when playing through Spotify. Why is that? Is there a workaround? I am a Windows 10 user on a Surface Pro 5 if that helps.
I've been using the new AMP since it came out. I also tried out the Beam for a short time and thought it was good for what it is. I'm music first as far as what I care about the most and I was hoping to have the AMP do double duty. I'm using the AMP with Revel Concerta 2 speakers which are $900 and highly rated plus Sonos Sub and One SL rears. It's been great for music and for home theater and the phantom center channel is actually pretty decent. My only source for everything is 4K Apple TV connected to a 55 inch Sony X930E. For music to get two channel sound I had to switch the Apple tv to stereo and turn off the Sonos rears. The ARC made me curious so I ordered it and received it today. Setup and connecting the sub and rears was very smooth. When I tried to do Trueplay with my iPad it said there was a network issue. After restarting everything, plus some cussing, I decided to try my iPhone to Trueplay and that worked right away. Otherwise super smooth and easy setup. The ARC is rea
I recently acquired a Sonos Move, which has replaced a Play 1 in our dining room. We have so far used it predominantly moved into the bathroom as needed and for occasional dinner background music in the dining room. It’s always connected to Wifi - not yet used the Bluetooth functionality. We will also be using it on the patio when/if the UK weather improves in the summer. (also on Wifi but may need to use Bluetooth if kids want to take it down the end of the garden. We’ve had it a few weeks and I’m reasonably happy with it. When not used in the bathroom it has always been kept on it’s charging base. Recently though I have noticed in the app that it never gets to 100% charge, always stopping at 95%. On the odd occasion, it has shown 100% in the app for around 1 second then changes to 95%. I should point out that I don’t have voice services active but I do keep the mic on for auto true play. So - is this normal battery behaviour? Should I take it off the charger for a while? I’m a litle
Now that Sonos has upgraded the app to include 2 different versions, Sonos S1 and Sonos apps. Is it possible to remove the recycle mode from a gen 1 play five to use on the Sonos S1 app which seems to be for legacy products? if possible can you share the steps to do so? thank you
Hello, Does anyone know if there is a cosmetic repair service for the Sonos move please? Thanks. (picture attached)
First post here! I’d like to get a simple Bluetooth turntable (I don’t want to fork out for a Port and it will be in another location to my Play 5) like the Sony PS-LX310BT. My logic is I could buy a good Bluetooth receiver to go into the Play 5 line in, I’m just not sure if the Bluetooth turntable will stream to a receiver as opposed to an actual Bluetooth speaker. Anyone done this or have experience? If so, any recommendations? Thanks!
