I have a pair of Play:1 and Five with a turntable connected to Five's line-In. It plays perfectly on Five but when I group Five with one (or both) of Play:1 it continues playing only on Five although that mini-equaliser shows that it's playing everywhere. What's wrong?
Odd issue occurring in the past couple of weeks or so. I play something on a speaker with my iPad, for example in my kitchen. Then want to continue listening in a different room, for example “bedroom” so select the new room and deselect “kitchen” and press done. Playing begins in the other room, but continues to play in the kitchen despite the fact that it is not now a selected room. Pressing stop in playback has no effect on the kitchen speaker neither does exiting the app altogether, playback just continues in my example, my kitchen. The only way I can stop it is to mute this speaker and continue playback in the bedroom. Unmute the kitchen speaker and it’s still playing there despite not being a selected speaker!I have only used the two rooms as examples of what happened this morning. Over the past couple of weeks it’s happening with other rooms as well.Anyone any advice as it’s really annoying? Thanks.
I have 5 x Play 2 (Generation 1).The S1 now longer allows connection to my Synology NAS.What do I do with them? Or is there a way round the problem?
Do ROAM speakers have a tracking feature? Mine was stolen off my golf cart while inside the clubhouse. Surely if someone tries to activate it in their system, it should be known to SONOS based on the serial #? Any ideas? (Excuse typo in subject)
So I picked up a new Roam today and having a hard time understanding this whole Bluetooth/Wifi handoff procedure. Everything I’ve read is that if you’re listening to Roam on Wifi and then venture outside your Wifi reach then Roam will “seamlessly” and “without user interaction” switch over to Bluetooth. Ok, but what will it be playing? When I’m on wifi I’m streaming music through the Sonos S2 app. Once out of wifi the Sonos app loses connection and is no longer available as a streamer. I need to switch to another app such as Apple Music or Tidal. Also, when I switched the Roam intentionally to Bluetooth and stream to it via Apple Music I can still group it with my Sonos wifi speakers (cool trick) but the swap feature doesn’t seem to work. That only seems to work if I’m playing wifi content. Similarly, if I’m Airplaying music to the Roam I am unable to use the Swap feature. I’m very confused about what to expect from these features. If anyone can shed some light I’d really appreciate
I have a pair of roams that I use as a stereo pair. I also have a move. I was just thinking it could be pretty cool to as a high pass to the roams and a low pass to the move to be able to use these three as a 2.1 system. I get that the move isn’t a dedicated sub, and I get that it won’t go as low as a dedicated sub, but it’s got much better bass response than the roams and I imagine one could get much better response at higher volumes from this system than running all of them full freq.
Please can someone help me 😔 Bought sonas move and paired it with my devise. Have taken out to my garden, bluetooth is on but cannot get it to play?? Please can someone advise Many thanks in advance to anyone wjo takes the time.
I have a sub, arc, and two one sl's.When im playing music or watching a movie with 5.1.2 its immersive. How do i get any use out of the one sl's for content that doesnt come in 5.1.2 sound? Is there a setting to make it all just mirror what is coming out the arc?
I recently picked up a Connect(gen1) with the hope of playing my turntable through my Sonos speakers (play1's) and my audio amp. So the TT goes into phono preamp into the connect and out to the amp. Playing the TT via the Connect into the amp, no problem. Playing the TT through the Connect to the play1's no problem. However when I group the room with the connect to the room with the play1's the output to the amp drops to virtually zero while the play1's are fine. Have fiddled with variable/fixed volume and the source level sensitivity to no dramatic effect.I am running S1with no issues. Although I am using Google mesh through out the house I have set up the Sonos gear to be on it’s own mesh. Love to hear some thoughts, Cheer, David
I have a move & a roam - can I pair these 2 while running in bluetooth mode?
Why is there only a passive solution (Sonance) or moveable speaker with a charger that isn’t rated for outdoor (Move/Roam)? Is it technically not possible to have an outdoor version of a One or Five without an amp?
I’m so disappointed with my sonos roam battery life, I returned it today. I got about 2 hours playback before it died. Even on standby it drained 25% in about 12 hours. I’ve been waiting for ages to expand my sonos system with an outdoor capable speaker and thought this was the answer. I loved everything else about it, but it didn’t even last for one evening. Someone please let me know if this ever gets fixed, and I’ll consider re-purchasing.
I have a large living room with 2 chimney breasts. I want to mount 2 Sonos Ones.Should I put them on the chimney breasts (above TV and above radiator) or in the alcoves at the far ends?
Hi all, Sorry if already asked and answered but I haven’t seen any clear statement about this.(do not hesitate to send a link else). Is that possible to use the Sonos Roam in hands free mode for phone calls, or even better, for visioconf with PC / Mac ? ThanksBen
My situation: I have a small home office where I spend 8-10 hours a day and, about two years ago, I purchased a Sonos One to best enjoy my favorite music, podcasts and also use it as general-purpose speaker (for YouTube videos, etc). Please note I don't do any "technical" audio or media work. What's wrong: The main reason why I bought a Sonos One was AirPlay 2 compatibility, which would allow me to use the Sonos speaker as a remote speaker for my MacBook over wired Ethernet (1Gbps). Wrong: AirPlay 2 works as long as you have something playing without interruption. As soon as you pause your music or any other kind of media, resuming after a few minutes just gets you a very long, or possibly infinite, silence. All I've gotten from Sonos support on this is "Apple's fault". After two years no software update on either side has improved this. Not even they very touted "Sonos S2". Even when it works, sync and delay issues abound. At some point I decided to just assume this speaker is only g
My new Sonos Portable needs an overnight charge, is it normal that it should take so long? Also the charge dissipates quickly, no where near the advertised number of hours. Also it switches itself on when i use the app regardless of whether I plan to listen to it which probably does not help battery life. Do I have a faulty battery? Can it be programmed to only come on via its switch
Hi,My Roam stopped charging few weeks ago. I already tried a lot of charging cables and adapter (of course with more than the 1.5 A - my standard outlet has 5V and 2.4 A). The Charging sets did work at the beginning, but stopped working a weeks from nowWhen I plug in a cable, the LED is red. But even after days it is still red, and not able to start! When I use the Wireless Charging Stand, the LED is not shining at all. So it seams it is not charging at all. I try to start by clicking the button on the back for about 30 seconds or more. And nothing happens. No sound or anything. It really seams to be dead right now. (Even right after days of red charging LED) What can I do now? Any additional tips how I get it working again? Thanks
I have a pair of Fives, stereo paired, Trueplay tuned and in the horizontal position. I’m curious how the soundstage would sound if I were to change speaker orientation to Vertical. If I turn to vertical does that cancel my saved Trueplay setting so that when I turn them back to horizontal I would need to redo the trueplay? Or does it remain as it was?
the question is about an unsual multiroom system. Is it possible to use some Roam as multiroom speakers with the units permanently connected with electricity ?
Having owned Sonos speakers and a Playbar for years, I jumped into purchasing a Roam as a portable option. Sadly, I will be returning it - this product is nowhere near the point where “it just works”. My observations which may be of interest:As others have noted, unless it gets turned completely off it just keeps waking up and draining the battery (quickly). As a portable option it isn’t something I want to use every day but I also don’t see why it should need to be completely powered down each time. Charging with a low power typical phone adapter doesn’t work very well. Not necessarily a problem as I have other options, but sometimes it has worked and sometimes it hasn’t so it is clearly unreliable and doesn’t fill me with confidence. Because it needs to be powered off properly, after switching it on it sometimes takes more than 5 minutes to appear as a Room choice in the app - that is useless if I just want to quickly start using it. This is the main reason I am returning it - that w
Roam become veryhot when use under Bluetooth mode, normal?
Hey guys, I have the Sonos arc, 2 gen 3 subs, and a pair of one sl’s… my question is I have the one sl mounted on the wall with the power cable ran through the wall, I would like to upgrade to the Sonos 5s for more surround sound… are the power cables from the one sl interchangeable with the Sonos 5s??? This way it could be just a simple swap… thanks everyone
I’ve recently bought a Sonos Roam speaker, when I try to link it to my Sonos speakers, I keep being told I need to update the app, and when I try over and over again, I’m told it’s not working. I’ve traced this to the fact I still use a Sonos bridge for my original Sonos 5 speaker which I still use via the Sonos 1 app. My other speakers are used via the Sonos 2 app and this is the app I am trying to link the Sonos Roam to but it still comes back saying update the app and then says it can’t update because of the Bridge ( which I obviously don’t use on the Sonos 2 app). I feel like I’m going round in circles. Can anyone help me please as I have a brand new speaker now which I can’t use!
Need help have a sonos roam and a first generation sub. The S2 application picks up both speakers but I can't make them part of the same room. Be great to have the roam and sub working together any advice welcomed.
Hi there, first time poster. I tried to find this question on the forum but couldn't find an answer. I have a Sonos One in my bedroom, I'd like my audio to play in the bathroom too with the Sonos Move being the safest speaker to leave in the bathroom. Is this possible? Can I broadcast my audio to both my Sonos One in the bedroom and Sonos Move in the bathroom? Thank you in advance!
