Haven’t even bought into SONOS but am SO close to doing so. One bit of information I have been unable to find concerns how power is managed. I’m specifically looking at the SONOS 5 (maybe the Move) to use as a system in my den, as a stereo pair. Once setup is it “always on”? That is, when I want to use it will I just select it in my device (any Apple device using AirPlay) and then play? Or are there power switches?
How long is the mounting bracket for the ARC? Trying to figure total length and where the screws would be. I have a cabinet that the TV is in. The old “hole for your TV” idea. Problem is the hole is not long enough to just put the ARC on it. And the shelves sit in from the concrete hole. Would you suggest putting the bracket on the shelf below it and just pulling that shelf out a bit? I’m not sure how else to do it.
Just bought a Roam for Christmas. Connected it to my existing Sonos system but it would not play music from Spotify, Sonos app or bluetooth. Tried several different iPhones but none would connect. I eventually got it it to play by a hard reset but if I stop playing and re-start playback the Roam it makes a strange clicking noise and the volume resets to 15 and there is no music played. Tried resetting again to factory setting and re-did the set up and the then the same thing happened. Not too impressed with this device compared to all my other Sonos kit. Any suggestions welcome as so far this is a dead speaker in my Sonos system.
So for Christmas I got my wife a roam, opened it Christmas Day and the problems began. It seems to reset or power on and off every 5 seconds. Music will play for ½ a second and volume automatically defaults to 15. Turn it up, back to 15 and get a blurb of music. White and orange light flashing constantly. Contacted CS determined that it was a faulty unit… so here we are what 3 weeks later finally get my 2nd roam and the same exact thing. Very frustrating to pay so much money for a tiny little speaker and they don’t work right out of the box. Everything else works flawlessly on my system. Any ideas on my problem?? Anybody experienced this kind of failure 2 times in a row?? I’m about to just ask for my money back it’s kind of ridiculous.
Hi. I have paired my Samsung tv with sobos roam and when I play any video, the roam makes “hiccups”. I have tried to remove any physical interference and even place the roam 1 inc in front of the tv but it does not resolve the problem. Any ideas ?
I’m interested in adding a Sonos Roam to my system and am hoping to get some feedback on cold weather performance. I do a lot of hiking and backcountry skiing and temperatures are frequently below freezing. How does the Roam perform in cold weather? Are there any third party cases that help keep the unit warm?I’m currently using an old JBL Clip3, but it’s very temperamental in cold weather. It works great for two hours or so, then completely dies and won’t take a charge until it warms back up. What can I expect from the Roam?
OK I get that stereo pairing drops when the speakers power down. Its a pain in the butt but not a deal breaker. My problem is that not only does the pairing drop on the Roam, it loses its connection to my voice service and on occasion one of my Roams will completely drop off the system and have to be added back in. Also, half the time I re-pair my two Roams, only one of them plays music. The only solution to this is to remove the offending speaker and then reinstall it in the app. And them go through the pairing again with fingers crossed. WTF Sonos? I like your products but clearly Roam is not production ready as it fails at several things that a portable speaker MUST do. Its pointless to have portable speakers when they are in fact the very opposite of portable. I am concerned that they will never work for the purpose they were intended for in their current form. So are you going to fix this or do I need to return my Roams and find another option?
I can’t link arc with my play 5 as surround sound
Can the speakers be connected to a record player wirelessly?

Hey!Would a Sonos headphone on wifi & bluetooth with the looks of the Apple AirPods Max that works with the Sonos app and some cool functionality (dolby surround etc.) be an idea for a next portfolio addition? This is what I miss. Hilbrand
I bought the Beam (Gen 2) and Sub for my home theater setup. The theater room is an Apple TV HDMI connected to a projector that projects on to a screen. No physical TV in the room! For the life of me I have been searching high and low for a simple wireless connection from the Apple TV to a speaker across the room that also wirelessly connects to a sub and *****doesnt restrict what content I can watch or listen to. Music, movies, TV, whatever***** Does this truly not exist?? I can’t believe the Beam doesn’t have bluetooth functionality in 2021.My question is: Is there any way whatsoever that I can stream movie audio from the Apple TV to the Beam+Sub wirelessly? Airplay, 3rd party app anything PLEASE?? I really don’t want to return these speakers.
Hi!I have a Sonos amp in my outside patio and two Sonos Ones as a stereo pair in my living room. I used to be able to group them all directly on my iPhone with my Apple TV that is connected to a receiver in another room, and they would a play music in the whole apartment. That option stopped working all of a sudden. I did a little googling and found about this “Group non-AirPlay Products option” so I anxiously went to check… but in my Sonos app that switch is greyed out and I can’t toggle it. Can someone please help?
First, I am an adept of sonos products.Now. For the roam, sorry..Change all the time from bluetooth to wifiWithout charge, just wait for 20 minutes before she accept to answer to you, when she accepts to charge with her sonos base (not all the time).Lost from group permanent. To be reinitialized all the time.Connexion in bluetooth ? Call Einstein!!!Don't buy!! Go for the rest of the products.
I’m traveling with a Sonos Roam and would like to have it available in S2 app connected to WiFi network instead of on Bluetooth via AirPlay. Is it possible to connect the Roam to S2 app … even if I need to create a new account and setup? Or is there another way to stream Spotify or Apple Music directly to the speaker instead of via Bluetooth / AirPlay from my phone?
So i have seen the explanation about the Roam turning itself on but i don't understand the logic around why it turns on when the sonos app has NOT been opened or used. every time i go to use the speaker the battery is dead. I recently charged it and watched. No Use on any other device and no use of the app and still it turns on and stays on. This is a major flaw and has zero logic around it. has anyone been able to prevent this? leaving it plugged in all the time seems like a stupid solution.
Hello,Is it possible for my friends to connect to the Roam with bluetooth if they have not installed the sonos app ?If they could, it would be great !Thank you Quentin from France.
I am in the process buying a sonos roam Bluetooth speaker. I would like to know if I can connect it via Bluetooth with my Samsung TV? Currently my Marshalls Bluetooth speaker connects and so does the bose speaker. I asked sonos customer care chat and they said no its not possible to connect your TV. If anyone can help out
Hi I have read topics on this already but I just wanted to check something. whenever I open my Sonos app (which is quite often) my Sonos roam powers on. I have read about switching it off by holding the button for 5 seconds but it when I do that the blue light comes on to pair it over blue tooth! How do I just stop it coming on all the time?!!!
I've had the Roam for a week and I’m generally happy with it. My only issue is the on/off button, its very stiff and unpleasant to use.I have to press it either really hard or multiple times to turn the device on, it's also very fiddly trying to activate bluetooth pairing mode. Is this a common issue or a product fault? I spoke to Sonos tech support and they seem unfamiliar with this issue and have recommended me to factory reset the device. I highly doubt this will fix the issue if its a physical fault.I’m tempted to return the device if this will be an ongoing issue and wait for the Roam V2.
If I listen to music or radio on Roam and set the volume to, say 35 (because it is daytime and I like to listen to it loud) then there is a problem early next morning. Usually I will say to Alexa on Roam, “volume three“ then “What is the time?“. Even if Alexa says that the volume is three when I ask “what is your volume?“, Roam will shout the time at me (and the neighbours) unless I adjust the volume manually using the Sonos app. For example, just now the volume on Roam using the Sonos app is 33. I have just asked Alexa “what is your volume?” And she says “device is at volume seven.”
Moved into new house with pre existing speakers. They were already setup prior to moving in and were connected to the previous internet system which got switched out. How do I set them up now that I have a new network.
