Hi everyone, Hi Sonos, I've recently purchased my first Sonos speaker, a Sonos One, and I'm very happy with it! The way I use it is very mobile: I bring it with me from a desk space in the living room to the bedroom and also to another room upstairs that I like to work in sometimes. With a laptop and wi-fi everywhere, I like to hang out wherever I feel best at the moment and I take my Sonos One with me. Now since I frequently switch between these 3 places with my speaker, it would be great to have easy access to loading whatever Trueplay Tuning profile was created in a given room instead of having to go through the procedure of creating a new one every time. I also noticed that they often come out slightly different and I keep finding myself wishing I could go back to the one I had yesterday, for example. Therefore I think it would be very nice to have the ability to store and reload different Trueplay Tunings. Thank you 🙂
Aside from playing Audio/music,what else can HomePod do? I found some information in https://devicebase.net/en/product/apple-homepod-speaker/99990090 . However,I want to get additional input about the product. Thank you in advance.
Is it possible to connect a speaker model One with another speaker model Play:1 to create a stereo system?
Living in a crowded area with 20 different 2.4GHz wireless networks around is really frustrating with Sonos. I've invested in many speakers and I'm constantly getting queues of podcasts either skipped 2 minutes into each 1hr podcast or the playback stops altogether because of interference... really annoying when you're listening from the shower or busy in the middle of something around the house. I've called Sonos tech support and while they are excellent, the best they could do is have me put my system in Bridge mode which didn't solve the problem. Apparently the speakers I have all do support 5GHz (contrary to what most say) because when you have a Surround setup it uses 5GHz to communicate between the speakers. So PLEASE let me enable 5GHz on all of my other speakers to avoid this interference. If the hardware exists in the speaker, let me use it!!! I understand it won't have the same range with 5GHz but I don't want range anyway. I want flawless playback. I've invested a l
Hi everybody! Was debating should I sell my Play 3 and get two Play 1's. At the end, I bought a used Play 3 🙂 Shippment in a few days. A few questions: Did I make a good choice? Is the Play 3 still a good speaker, compared to newer Play1 and Play5? Really how good do they sound in stereo? How do I trueplay them when in stereo mode? Will the two Play 3's on the opposite corners of my room provide enough power to fill my 50 square metres of open space? (One Play 3 must be turned out pretty loud to do so. I am looking for evenly spread sound across the room.) Thanks Neven
I have a playbar and I had 2 Sonos One speakers as my surrounds. I bought 2 new play 3 speakers today and it seems like they don’t have near as much bass. I went in and turned the bass all the way up. I thought the play 3 was supposed to be better sound quality wise.
Hello. I have 2 Sonos play 5 and for our apartment is more than enough, but I also want to use it for watching tv/movies. My goal is to have a good sound experience and NO lip sync problems. I have this diagram to explain my goal. Is it possible? - Use Sonos Connect to stream the AV-Receiver to all my Sonos Speakers and be able to watch my AppleTV without lip sync problem.
I have a brand new playbar connected to my TV, I only unboxed it today, but I have to admit that when I disconnected my stereo and the playbar took over, I was disappointed. Perhaps my expectations were unrealistic? My old stereo is a Denon UD-M3, and I have two Celestion F1 70w speakers connected to it. My feeling is that the soundbar is clearer in the high frequencies, but the old stereo has a lot more power. Is there any way to objectively compare these? I know there's a lot of functionality in the Sonos that I'll never get from the old speaker, but I don't feel too clever buying a $700 system to discover it's inferior, or perhaps just marginally better or a bit different. Fortunately I can return the Sonos if I'm unhappy, so I'm not just whining. I'm hoping for some tips to discover where the soundbar excels. 🙂 I have two Play:1s that I had intended to configure for surround, but I may reconsider anyway if the main system is a downgrade. I'm not planning to get the su
Hey, I'm on the fence about jumping into the Sonos community with two Sonos Ones. I'm almost convinced but there's one thing holding me back. Can I use the Sonos ones to play out of my TV, as well as playing music? For example, playing Netflix or Amazon via a Google Chromecast OR screen mirroring to the TV via an Apple TV - can I wirelessly connect the Sonos Ones to play out audio in these scenarios? Thanks! Gully
Hi guys, for no reason at all my play 3 has dropped off my network and now just has a continuos flashing white light, it's no longer recognised as being part of my network? I've tried doing a factory re-set but still no go, just a flashing white light all the time? Any help would be appreciated.
When I group a Connect AMP and Playbar (which is connected to a TV), I can't control the volume using the TV's remote as a group, it only adjusts the volume of the Playbar. This means I have to reset the balance of the speakers within the group every time someone adjusts the volume using the TV remote. Having to adjust the volume on my Connect Amp within the Sonos app is a real pain. Is there a way the group volume can be controlled by the TV remote?
I have 2 x Play 5's and 2 x Play 1's and the system has been running perfectly for the last 6 months. I'm running the Sonos app on a Samsung S3 most of the time and on a pc occasionally. Yesterday I purchased an iPad and in my haste to get that up and running I loaded the app onto that and followed the instructions that came up to update software. All fine and control from the iPad was perfect. However, my S3 is now not working and I'm getting the error message that the operating systems out of date and must be updated. Which I cannot do. I'm assuming the problem is I now have two bits of kit one with an old operating system (Android 4.0) and one with a new one (IOS11). The S3 can't be upgraded but I would like to control Sonos from the S3 but think I'm going to be out of luck unless there is a workaround?
*sigh* C'mon Sonos, you used to be better than this. Your second refreshed play 1 speaker is the super big announcement? After previous big product releases being a refreshed playbar and a refreshed play 5? The surprise being built in microphones which leaked months ago? No noise cancelling headphones or outdoor speakers or portable speakers like users have been requesting for years? Not even a cheap stand alone microphone unit for those who already have Sonos systems and want Alexa or Google Home? You use to be the leaders. Now it seems like you're either resting on existing products (refreshes) or playing catch up (integrating microphones) and giving us nothing new:(
Sonos shower speaker (water proof speaker) would allow another option for listening that would be great.
I just purchased a single Play:5. I have to turn it about 3/4 of the way up to hear it much at all, and at max volume, it is not nearly what one would expect from a speaker of this quality. I have the volume setting all the way up, plus the bass and treble at max. Nothing seems to help. Is there another setting I'm missing? Thank you.
It looks like the rumours were true. Amazon's Alexa-powered Echo devices now support 'multi-room '. Amazon has announced that you can use its voice assistant to control and synchronise music across multiple Amazon Echo devices. All you have to do is open the Alexa app and create groups with two or more Echo devices. You can name the group - such as “upstairs" - and then once you’ve created it, simply say, “Alexa, play John Lennon upstairs.” Saved groups has been repeated request from the user community for some time. Sonos may regret not heeding that feedback. If Amazon produces a high end speaker then I worry for the future.
I have got a demo arranged to listen to the Play:5 at a place. I want to check the versatility of the speaker which means, I would like to listen to all genres of music. I am a BASS fan, so I have my BASS samples ready. But speakers is just not all about BASS. I must be listening to some Mid's and High's aswell (Vocals & Guitar) Can any of you suggest a good track maybe one single track which has everything or different tracks to check out the Vocals and Guitar separately on how does it sound in the Play:5 ? Any suggestions guys ?
When Play:1 is turned up past half volume, the speaker buzzes during any bass, such as a bass guitar...tried resetting it, moving it to another location, unplugging power cord and reconnecting...still buzzes. Speaker is brand new, can I use the warranty for a new one?
I've had a working Sonos system for years, comprising of a sonos amp, a sonos connect, a sonos play:5 1st gen and a sonos play:5 2nd gen. The sonos connect uses a wired connection all the others are wireless. I have a sonos bridge wired to a Netgear router. All have worked perfectly until today and now I can't get anything to work, regardless of what I do. All Sonos apps (PC and Android mobile) are no longer seeing any of the wireless devices. I have rebooted the router (twice), rebooted the sonos bridge, tried hard wiring one of the sonos play:5's to my network, performing an update, but nothing seems to work. When updating the windows PC sonos app, the app ends with "Update problem - There was a problem during the update of your Sonos system. - Try again". That's just great!!!!! I have tried again many times, but nothing works! When I hard wired the sonos play:5 2nd gen to my network I was able to add it and then play music on it. When I removed the network connection i
Dear Community, Is any secret of connection PLAY-1 to WLC 5510 using CAPWAP. I made all steps according this link: https://en.community.sonos.com/setting-up-sonos-228990/sonos-with-cisco-aironet-access-points-32497 but no success. PLAY1 can't provision over CAPWAP WiFi net, timeout error. Seems like no traffic between PLAY1 and SONOS Controller via WLC.
Hi. I have to Play 1 speakers. One of them has stopped working. The led is flashing green. Unplugging didn't seem to help. Please assist me. Thank you. Assaf
I much prefer the physical buttons over the capacitive touch controls. Not so much an issue on Playbase but on the Sonos One. I have my One on top of my refrigerator. When I want to group it via the play/pause button with the Playbase, I have to look at the top of the One. With my Play 3, I can feel the buttons without looking and press the play/pause button to group it. Same thing with turning it up and down without the controller. I love the one button group feature for when I'm cooking and want to hear what's on the TV. The capacitive touch controls kinda defeat that function for me in the kitchen.
Am I correct in saying these "wireless" speakers do not work with being connected to the power cable?? Why does almost ever photo have them displayed in home / mounted on walls with NO power chord connected.
I bought a play one thinking "oh nice I can add Alexa to my Sonos 1 and create a stereo pair"
So... the 3 year old has been leaving grubby food prints all over the playbar. Anyone have any tips to clean the fabric cover please?
