Hi, i have just bought a 2019 Samsung QE55Q70R TV, and am thinking of buying a Sonos Beam to go with it as I already own two Sonos One’s Gen 2. I see a lot of people in the community have been having issues with lip sync and connecting the Beam to Samsung TV’s. Can anyone please confirm if the Beam has any compatibility issues with the TV I have just bought? Anyone using the Beam with this TV? Last thing I want to do is spend money on some thing that isn't going to work as it should.Regards, Mark.
I’m using projector and an Apple TV HD (4th gen) for movies and streams the audio to Sonos with Apple Airplay 2. Using a pair of Sonos ones and a Sonos sub. It almost works but I’m experiencing some issues: 1..every time I turn on the Apple TV I need to select the audio output to Airplay 2. But only if I’ve listened to music on Sonos in between. If I haven’t listened to music then the Apple TV plays the audio on my Sonos correctly next time I turn it on.m 2..Sometimes the Audio get distorted in the middle of a movie and I get an echo-like effect. If I pause the movie and press play again the echo effect is gone and the audio sounds fine. 3..if I watch a movie on Netflix or HBO, and then play something on YouTube afterwards, then there’s no audio playing on Sonos. I then have to manually go to th Apple TV settings and deselect Apple airplay and then select it again for the Audio to work. Does anyone hav a similar setup without these issues? Would replacing my Apple TV with a Appl
I have a Roku TV, can I set up sound to come from my Sonos Move or do I need something else?
How to get Spotify infomarting using Crestron Sonos Module i am able to get the favourites but not the spotify playlist or any other radio services
Does anyone know if it's possible for two users in the same household to login into a single account and control their music separately? Thanks Moderator note: We updated this article in October 2023 with new information below. Her you can find additional information regarding this: Use multiple accounts for the same music service
So we have friends here for vacation, and they are disappointed because it is not as simple as a bluetooth speaker to broadcast music in my house... you have to download the Sonos app, log in with my complicated password and then they find the app complicated (too many rooms, not used to my music service, difficult to find the tune they want...) and mess up the whole thing. Is there an easy way to have a guest broadcast a tune to a sonos system that I don't know ?
Hello, We have a Denon AVR-S650H reciever and would like to connect to Sonos One SL to play CDs/LPs. Is this possible? If so, how? Thanks!
Hello there I’m a happy Beam owner, who was hoping to connect a wireless vinyl turntable and listen to my old albums. But it looks like there’s a problem - the Ion Air LP turntable I’ve been bought uses Bluetooth and is therefore incompatible with Sonos. Is there a way around that? Can I connect a Bluetooth wireless turntable to Sonos in any way? Thanks in advance! And Merry Christmas too...
I’ve had a play 1 in storage since we are building a house. I never had good performance from the speaker. Using the iPhone app songs would skip, stop or not even play. I still want to play music stored on my iPhone. I’m hesitant to try and set it up again knowing how poorly it performed before. Has the app been improved any? If not, I’m tempted to just try and sell the play 1 and be done with Sonos.
If I want to use the Brennan B2 as a CD player and Internet Radio as well as a passive NAS, to do this, can I hook it up to any Sonos product with a line in? I was thinking of a Play 5 but may now considering the Port since I have to wire the B2 to the router with a ethernet cable in a different room.
I’m hoping someone can help me understand what is happening when Sonos Connect is connected to my preamp via optical input to my preamp, which also has a DAC. Does the optical connection bypass the DAC in the Connect? Or does the conversion happen in the Connect? I’m trying to figure out if the DAC in the preamp then does additional conversion, or if it does nothing because it is seeing an analogue signal that doesn’t need conversion? I’m fine with the DAC in the Sonos, but the reality is my preamp has one also. I’m not sure how to think about what might be the best way to connect the devices to avoid having to go through the conversion twice (or if that even matters). Many thanks for the education.
Hi - Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’m running Mac Catalina 10.15.2 and would like an equalizer for my Sonos system to enhance my Sonos Sub (especially) as well as other speakers in the system. I’ve been unable to find one and could use your help. Thanks in advance
Hi all, I’m not really great with technology and would want to confirm something regarding using a bluetooth receiver that’s connected to my Sonos Playbar. Problem: I want to allow certain music/videos from my phone/laptop to play on my Sonos speakers using bluetooth. I have a Playbar, Sub and Beam in my living room which are all grouped together. Am I able to purchase a bluetooth receiver (something like this from Amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/Lossless-Bluetooth-Receiver-Optical-Coaxial/dp/B01G5AMGR8) and connect it to my Playbar using optical to optical? I can easily have the bluetooth receiver plugged 24/7 beside the Playbar so that it’s always available. The bluetooth source (phone or laptop) will always be close (within 10 feet) to the bluetooth receiver. Some of the discussions in the community sort of relate to this but they are either old or not exactly what I was looking for. I’m just wanting to be 100% sure before I purchase anything. It would be much appreciated. Thanks in a
Currently use iTunes on MacBook for all my music. Plan on adding a NAS. How can I organize my music, without using iTunes. Is the there software to organize? I liked to be able to easily find selections and have playlist. Thanks Joe
My Sonos Controller says it needs to update to 10.6 but won't. I'm running latest Mac OS (Catalina) on a imac. System works fine on other devices and lets me update controller on them (Mac and android) but not the imac. Any suggestions? system is a dock, sonos 1 and 3.
Hi! I have connected a soundbar to the PORT with coaxial cable, and I just wonder if I can connect another set of speakers to the PORT with RCA cable and have them with sound comes out simultaneously with the soundbar? Or I can connect speakers with either the coaxial digital out or AV OUT (with RCA cable)?
how to connect Sony tv x95g to Sonos play 5 via airplay?
I have all of my music on my iPhone and prefer to play it from my iPhone on my Sonos. From what I have been reading, I can’t play it that way anymore. I have to either play it through my computer, a music streaming service or a NAS device. i do NOT want my computer on all the time. I don’t want to pay an additional fee for a music streaming service. I bought and own all of my music. There has to be a way to play the music I purchased from my iPhone to my Sonos speakers without having to pay an additional fee to listen to my iPhone, music and Sonos speakers I already paid for and own. How can I do this?
I connect my Sonos sound bar using optical cable to a TCL Roku TV. I can't get the tv remote to control the sound on the bar. I was able to do it with my previous Samsung TV. I tried the remote control settings in the sonos app but its not recognizing the remote when I asked to hit the volume + button. I also tried using an optical to HDMI (ARC) adapter that came with my beam (in the other room) and then adjusted the CEC settings on the tv, but it doesn't recognize the bar that way. Any suggestions?
I know there are other threads about this but I have not found any solution. It is impossible to properly play music from my iPhone music library to my Sonos speakers. The songs skip midway through, then skip and skip without even playing, then just stop playing all together. Yes, I have done everything suggested. I have changed my wireless settings from automatic to channel 1, and I have set auto-lock to never and tried my best to NEVER USE MY IPHONE FOR ANYTHING while using Sonos. But this is ridiculous. Not only does it drain my battery but sometimes while playing music all evening long I need to use my phone - shocking, I know. The moment I open any other app, my songs start skipping. This is NOT a wireless connectivity issue or other communication with Sonos speakers issue. I can stream Pandora from my Sonos app all day while using 6 different iPhone apps and never have the Sonos app on the screen. This is ONLY an issue when playing from my iPhone library. Again,
I have a sonos beam, 2 sonos 1 set up as surround speakers, and a sonos sub, but no matter what I do I can’t get any sound from my sonos 1’s. My beam is connected to my samsung TV via a HDMI to the ARC HDMI input into my TV. I do not have a set top box, my TV is just connected to an aerial. I also have an apple TV 4th gen, connected via ethernet to my router and by HDMI to my TV and a sony Blu ray connected by HDMI to my TV. Not matter what I play I cannot get any sound from my sonos 1 surrounds, even when I play spotify over the surround system, no sound comes out BUT I know they are connected because I can use the volume buttons on the Sonos 1’s to adjust the sound. I recently moved to Sydney from NZ and this set up was working fine (the only difference is that I had a settop box in NZ, but with freeview here and netflix and Foxtel Now, I don’t really need a settop box) I would have thought that playing a blu ray disk would give me surround sound but still no lick. Can someone
I have the beam connected through HDMI ARC, went into the Bravia settings and enabled Bravia sync, enabled the device, tv stated it was switching to external audio. Still no sound out of the beam. I’ve read other people fixing this just using Bravia sync enabled but that didn’t solve the problem for me. Any advice? Thanks!
Please add the following Sonos Playlist management/edit functionality to the Sonos Controller application: #1 back up Sonos Playlists #2 export a Sonos playlist to a file (e.g. xml, csv) in a format that can then be imported back into the Sonos Controller application - i.e. allow offline mass editing of a playlist. #3 import a playlist from a music service (e.g. Spotify, Apply Music, Deezer, Amazon Music) and create it as a Sonos Playlist #4 repoint a Sonos playlist to a new music service (e.g. if you change your music subscription from Spotify to Apple Music or vice versa). #5 should be ability create Sonos playlists in an offline editor - i.e. expose the Sonos playlist format/syntax to the public so we can create large playlists quickly (extension of function #2).
I find the Playbar a problem with my system, voices are low, I have to turn on subtitles to understand what is being said. Internal speakers on my LG TV are better. Using an Apple 4K TV for source. Anyone have any suggestions?
I am running 10.6 on iOS13.3 on an iPhone 11 Pro Max and can’t use the hardware buttons to control the volume in the Sonos app. I have checked that the hardware volume control is on (also toggled it on and off) and restarted the app but had no luck. I have read somewhere that the lock screen controls going missing is because of Apple protecting AirPlay 2 functionality but is this related? None of my speakers have AirPlay 2 functionality, I just have a 3rd gen Apple TV on the network. I literally have to use the volume slider in the app to adjust the volume of the system or use the physical buttons on each speaker. Has anyone else noticed this or found a solution? Thanks for any support provided!
