So it is 4pm on the 8th June here and still no Sonos S2 update. Hmmmmm.
Will trueplay finally be supported on android with the launch of the s2 app?
I’m interested in buying an Arc but have a bit of an odd shaped room. Starring at the tv, it has the following characteristics: To the left, a wall To the right, a 1.5ft lip beyond which is our open-to-above staircase Behind the couch (facing the tv) is 50% half-wall with a pillar, and the balance is open to the kitchen Ceiling- normal 9ft ceilings This is obviously not ideal for virtual surround- but would it eliminate all surround and Atmos functionality? Also, sound traveling in the direction of the staircase tends to amplify and become louder upstairs (see point 2)- would the side firing speakers contribute to this a great deal? or would Sonos true play sense the lack of wall here (and behind the couch) and adjust accordingly? Would it still be worth purchasing? Thanks, Zab
I got my Arc yesterday. Connected via HDMI ARC and no passthrough at all from LG C6 TV of anything other than DD5.1. Not entirely unexpected but really disappointing nonetheless. I have to say though even 5.1 sounds fantastic compared to my old Playbase. I tried the secondary HDMI Audio only out from my Oppo player and get no audio from this (nixing at least one cunning plan). As others have said the Arc needs the handshaking that HDMI ARC does and not just a HDMI out. I have lots of HiRes sources capable of putting out Dolby Atmos but the Arc will only take a signal via my TV which is the bottleneck. I am not replacing the TV anytime soon so I have to hope the LPCM update might give me access to some of what the Arc can really do. Till then - it’s giving me some of the best 5.1 I’ve heard in a long time...
Have two Sonia systems at two locations but wanted to take my Move between each location. It looks like I have to reset the move to get it to join the system at each location. SSID at each location is the same, not sure if that is the issue (but doubt it). Get a message saying that the Move is registered to a different system. Btw, both systems are in the same account.
Is it worth replacing my playbase for the arc??? All my sound goes though 2 optical leeds ( xbox 1 & sky q box) Cheers 👍👍
Hi all, hoping to som help. I am a Newby so learning as I go here. I have read the other post and they don’t seem to apply to me. Just unboxed my pro-ject T1 SB, plugged in the R/W cable into the back of the turntable and then connected to the 3.5 converter into the back of my Play 5. I have made sure all settings were set exactly to instructions. When I play an album and connect to Line in I hear nothing but a buzz from the Play 5. I do not get music from the turntable. What am I doing wrong? Thank you, Greg
Since I installed the S2 app on my iPhone 11, I noticed my battery got drained rapidly. See picture below: The Screen Off is 54 min. meaning the Sonos S2 app is active in the background doing something... I had no issue using the original Sonos app before. I have to swipe out manually the app to prevent the battery from draining. Anyone experiencing the same issue?
I have been unable to get my Tivo Bolt remote to control my Sonos Arc volume/mute functions. I have unsuccessfully tried solutions for the Playbar. Any help would be welcomed. Thank you.
I am considering purchasing a Sonos Move, but after reading extensively it has become apparent that Sonos Move uses plain ole Wifi and not SonosNet. I have an existing Sonos Nework with 5 other devices, including the Sonos Beam and 1 Sonos One. All of these are using SonosNet from a Boost plugged into a Ubiquiti PoE Switch. In addition to the Ubiquiti Switch, I also have 2 Ubiquiti AP's broadcasting my Wifi, I have read a few articles that involve having to change a few settings on the Unifi Controller, but not the AP’s themselves. My question - will the Sonos Move work happily on Ubiquiti AP’s, or are there settings there I need to tweak too?
Hi, I have purchased at SONOS ARC to compliment my LG OLED55CX to make the most of its Dolby Atmos ability. Unfortunately the ARC will obscure the bottom (2” approx) of the TV screen. I am after recommendations for a desktop stand (VESA 300 x 200) I can purchase to overcome this problem. Hopefully someone in the community can help. Thanks in advance.
Hi I just purchased a Sonos move and the touch controls are not working on it at all. I have enabled them in the app (and turned them off and back on), reset the device and added it again but they are completely unresponsive I have run a diagnostics in case someone here can help, the code is 1977921086 They’re impossible to find here at the moment (UK) I really don’t want to have to send it back Thanks
Can Sonos please consider introducing an option to switch off CEC? I prefer to control the volume via simple IR (infrared) rather then using CEC which does not alway work well between different brands. E.g. using the mute button sometimes result in showing the mute logo on the tv screen even when mute is off and sound is playing.
I've recently purchased a SONOS Beam and I'd like to add a couple of SONOS Ones to the mix for surround sound for watching movies and playing games etc. I'd ideally like to place the speakers in the top corners of my room (see circles marked in pic) Anyone have any thoughts? I obviously want a good sound but I'm unsure as to whether placing the speakers here will have any negative impact. Audiophiles assemble!
With the new upgraded Sonos app, I can no longer add songs through the app to my Spotify playlist. It just allows me to “Save to Your Music”. Here’s a picture of all the options available when trying to add. This is a problem, the old version had more options and you could very simply access the Spotify playlists - now you cannot - that’s a problem for me! any help thanks!
The volume on my remote is no longer working. It was working and has just stopped. I have tried 2 different articles to replace the remote and reprogram my shaw remote to relearn but neither have resolved my problem. This is challenging for anyone to watch tv that doesnt have the sonos app available to them.
So my Sonos Arc just arrived and the sound is very impressive so far coming from a dedicated 5.1 HT setup. I went to test my PS4 and enable DD 5.1 from the PS4's sound settings via HDMI and now there seems to be a significant delay from the on screen actions and the sound coming out. There is no delay when selecting PCM which is 2.0, but I purchased this system to have surround sound... especially in games. Internal apps, Nvidia Shield, etc work fine with DD+. PS4 is connected to a LG C7 which is then connected to the ARC via ARC. Coming from a deciated 5.1 setup with a dedicated AMP, there were no issues or delays with this same setup. Looks like this a known Sonos issue back to 2017?, really?, and still doesnt seem to be any solution?. The ARC doesnt even have an optical port so cant even carry a second audio signal from the PS4's optical port which seems what most people have resulted to. Does anyone know of a fix?, otherwise might have to put the Arc/ Play Ones back and in
I have an ARC and have an existing B&W subwoofer and want to move to a 5.1 setup. I’m also planning to buy a couple of One SL’s as surrounds but wondering if I can buy an Sonos Amp and use that as the .1 (with my B&W sub). I’d rather not have to buy a Sonus sub
Hi folks, I have a few old Sonos devices that aren’t S2 compatible. After screaming “whyyyy” into the night for a while I’ve decided this may be an opportunity to adjust and streamline my setup. My two Play:5 Gen1s are a no brainier. The new Sonos Fives it is. Bye bye bridges (one still brand new in the box). Just switched the router cable from the bridge to the Playbase today and things seem to be working OK. In fact I think grouping/ungrouping rooms is a bit quicker. Maybe the bridge was a pinch point for some of the processing required. Or it’s just a notion of me. Anyway, I had the bridge on a shelf about 4 feet above the Playbase so hoping the SonosNet mesh holds up without it, especially with my outdoor plans. lastly, and the point for the post, I currently have a Connect AMP (ZP120, circa 2010) driving a pair of Monitor Audio Climate 50 speakers. I only purchased the ZP120 (2nd hand) and Speakers last July, which added to the level of screaming above. At the time I couldn’t just
Hello, I have recently set up my LG OLED CX with Sonos Arc. I followed the below and getting Dolby Atmos showing on the Sonos app but still I don’t think it’s Atmos I am hearing. Any help would greatly appreciated. 4K eARC HDMI connected to eARC port from tv to Sonos. tv internal sound turned off Digital audio output - pass-through DTV audio setting - Auto eARC turned on I am using it in a small room and did the initial setup for true play. With or without this setting Atmos is not fathomable. please suggest. cheers
Hello, I want to use the sonos amp for all my areas - Kitchen - LivingRoom - and Patio TOTAL 3 AMPS : Can I integrate The Sonos amp with Apple Homekit? How is the experience Switching Zones and Adding them together?
Does the newest Sonos update allow us to stream at cd-quality from the Amazon Music app or do we still need to use the Sonos app to do so?
I like the look of the new Arc. Sonos seems to be catching up but they always seem to be a step behind. There doesn't seem to be a HDMI in for a Dolby Atmos device, like the Apple TV. I take it that means a lot of people will need to also buy a new TV, adding to the cost. Am I correct in thinking that my not that old Sony TV will not pass through Dolby Atmos over HDMI from my Apple TV as the TV is not Dolby Atmos even though the Apple TV is? I'm thinking a newer TV is also required with a newer HDMI port?
Hello, I am new to the Sonos family and decided to jump in by purchasing the Arc and Sub (Gen 3). The system sounds amazing when it works. Unfortunately, I cannot keep the Sub connected and working. The only solution that I have found is to remove the Sub and then add it back to the system. It will work for a few hours and then the Sub will disappear. If I use the “find missing product” feature - it will find the Sub but the Sub will not function as it should - the light turns white as if everything is fine...the Arc takes the bass out of it’s mix but the Sub never functions properly. I have repeated the process of deleting the Sub and adding it back multiple times. I really want to like this system but getting it to work is incredibly frustrating. My system is completely wireless. I have tried changing the 2.4 channel coming from the router; I have power cycled everything. The sub is about 2 feet from the Arc if that makes a difference. I don’t know what else to do. I have tried s
I have a feeling this isn’t possible but let’s see :) If I buy a TV that is airplay 2 compatible, would that mean that the sound of the TV would come out of the Sonos Move? Or does it just mean that the TV can connect to the phone (which is what I think will happen). Thanks.
