The volume buttons on my iPhone and iPad don't have any effect in the Sonos controller app after installing iOS 11.2 beta. Am I the only one experiencing this issue?
Has anyone found a way to stream Sonos sound via Sonos' PC software through your PC's soundcard? Basically use your PC as a player?
As Sonos asked for constructive criticism and feedback in response to the 8.0 backlash, here's my take on it. WHAT"S WRONG WITH IT? The new app has quite a lengthy list of issues. Several of which aren't even points of debate as they are so obvious. I'll start with quickly highlighting those before moving on to the fundamental problem, which is the new way of navigation. Too bright The new predominantly white design is a problem in any context with dimmed light (evening living room, bedroom, etc). It's no coincedence in this regard that GPS systems have a night mode In addition the elements that did remain black - like the current room or the nav bar - don't draw attention and feel inactive. When switching rooms for example, I'm inclined to tap the room a second time, as making the current selection darker just doesn't feel like on. Big and bloated Pretty much every overview in the interface has become big and bloated. Because of that, these screens do no
Devastated to find that Sonos offer no repair path for my recently damaged playbar. The cover was damaged by one of my grandchildren. Really strange reply from customer support basically saying that they 'understand' my pain. I've spent over 2k with Sonos and feel a little stranded with their customer support. I see many other threads of a repair offering (at a cost obviously), so why am I being treated differently Sonos ? Thank goodness other manufacturers don't have this 'anti-green throw it in the bin' policy.
The app on Android is much harder to use. Voice control is nice, but the design is not intuitive. This is just my opinion and I'm giving it time but it is just not easy to use.
I am so sad to say that they have not yet done this. However, if they read any of the feedback that customers are leaving on Google Play or here on this website they must be thinking about it. But it is hard to announce that you made a HUGE mistake. It takes guts. PLEASE HELP TO ENCOURAGE THEM TO ROLL BACK..... Sonos ALL COULD BE FORGIVEN, just tell us that you will give us back the old phone App or something that looks, feels and works like it did.
Can PlayBar auto-switch audio sources? If I am listing to Spotify or music library content, and then turn on the TV, can PlayBar detect that and switch sources automatically? Or will I have to load the Sonos app to change it manually? I am hoping it's automatic, and am waiting for confirmation of this before ordering. Thanks.
When changing from one room to another I first have to select the new room together with the old one and accept. Then I have to remove the old room and accept before I can use the new room. Extremely annoying. No problems before upgrading to new and worse version of app.:@:@:@
Hello, I am currently looking to add to my Sonos setup and I'm not sure what speaker to go for. Currently I have a Play:3 in my living room, a Play:1 in my Kitchen and a Play:1 in my bedroom. I am considering getting a new Play:3 to setup as a stern pair in my living room. Alternatively, I am wondering if it would make more sense to buy a Playbar or Playbase to replace the Play:3 in the living room. What would people recommend? How would a Playbar or Playbase sound compared to 2 Play:3s setup in a stereo pair? Thanks
Im having this problem a lot!! id tried to reset my modem, disconnect an reconnect the speaker, nothing works!! and the problem have been increasing last 3 weeks... some times a can listen music at all during the day, some times it works and suddenly in the middle of the song the music turns off or change the song.
Planning to buy a Playbase and sub this week. Already have the 2 Play 1's. While I've done a search and realize there's plenty of suggestions for HDMI switches, I was hoping someone could review my setup and confirm an HDMI switch that would work for me. I have a Samsung UN55D6050 TV from 2011. Unfortunately upon checking manual, it will not pass 5.1 from the HDMI inputs. The TV input will pass 5.1, however I don't use the built in Smart TV. I understand an HDMI switch can resolve this issue. I have 5 devices I use with my TV: 1) Cable Box (HDMI) 2) Blu-Ray Player (HDMI) 3) AppleTV (HDMI) 4) Roku (HDMI) 5) Wii (Component) I use a harmony remote to control all devices with one remote. If I purchase an HDMI switch that supports ARC I should be good right? Will the audio from the Wii get passed via ARC to HDMI switch and out the Playbase as well? Or will I need an HDMI switch that also has component inputs? And can someone recommend a few different options for these
Is Sonos planning to update the "look" and sound quality of the playbar?
I believe that many owners of a Play 1 would like to buy a Sonos One, and pair the two. Am I the only one? :8
SONOS, now is not the time to be silent. People have spent SIGNIFICANT money on your products, and for you to FORCE an update on everyone, an update that the large majority find unusable, unstable, and overall just BAD, we need to hear from you on what your intentions are. Transparency is important. Do not just sit back and be silent. Don't make us sort through hundreds of posts to find whatever information you are giving. Put information clearly on your support page. In the future, remember that your software is tied to very expensive hardware that we, your customers, have purchased. Before you go making huge changes to the software, how about putting it out as a trial, or send users emails with images of the UI, demo site, so we can give feedback BEFORE you ruin everyone's systems? Or better yet, give us a ROLLBACK option that works.
Hi all, just wanted to say I am selling my Sonos devices. After the death of my 2nd CR200 I found neither the iOS nor the Android app are appropriate replacements. For me it's (most of) all about convenience. And after a few weeks with another (officially long dead) music system I now decided I found a good replacement (but only because there is this Android app which is, in its simplicity, similar to the CR200!)
I have a pair of Sonos One's setup to play with my TV and they crackle a lot. Diag# 7948200
Sonos One has terrific sound. It would be great if one day Sonos put out a 360° omnidirectional speaker.
While you sit in your conference rooms and debate the 8.x app with corporate speak sentences like "They will get used to it" and "This happens every major upgrade" and "Scale-able, cross-platform modern blah blah blah.....". One thing that has never happened before with my Sonos house happened last night. And it is important you realize the significance. I had three couples over for drinks and I put on one of my playlists and then I turned the ipad over and placed it under my bar. I did it without thinking - it just seemed less distracting that way. This morning i did think about it however. I had never done that before. I tend to hand off the Ipad and let guests marvel at my wonderful Sonos system. I let them pick music from the seemingly endless inventory of tunes from Google and Apple. Soon old songs are played that bring back great memories - people sing and some might even dance. It almost always turns into a "So what is this Sonos thing?". Last night. That did no
I was under the impression that Sonos was the market leaders it this sector, so I paid what I thought was over the odds for my system. the speaker are ok but the app is a disaster. It is defiantly not user friendly and hard to use. I thought it was because it was now to me, but I've been using it a couple of months and its still terrible. I want to use my iPhone and my Mac on this system, but am finding it impossible for them to work together correctly in unison, and read my play lists. I'm not interested in all the extra paid for music site , just my music, which I've paid for and is on my system. After reading the app reviews I see I'm not the only person. I actually think my 10 year old son could build a better app .
Hi, I have the Sonos 5.1 system which I have set up with my LG 4k oled and I can choose DD or PCM On the TV setup menu. My first question is What is the difference with DD and PCM? Can they both do output true 5.1? With PCM will I get a different sound from each speaker if the source I am Using can pass through? I was watching a film the other night which was in 5.1 and put my tv setup to DD and every 30 mins or so it went silent for a split second then worked again, I think this is more regarding the TV than the Sonos. PCM gives me true 5.1 then I will change. Any help is much appreciated. Riddick
I have CONNECT:AMP with a pair of speakers connected to my PlayBar in a surround sound mode. The Surround sound "sound" works OK, but not as great as I expected. However, when I turn it off through the various apps, my old settings do not return. In other words, I don't see my old CONNECT:AMP pair of speakers as a separate room. In my house I have five CONNECT:AMPS, two PLAY:1's and one PLAY:3 and I run the SOnos app on three platforms, all recently upgraded. Love all other aspects of my Sonos network, but this issue frustrates me. Any thoughts?
I thinking of entering the Sonos world, I'd like to start with the Playbar acting as my only speaker system and expand the system later as required. What would I need to connect the Playbar to an analogue source in addition to the TV?
I just updated to 8.0 about 20 minutes ago. I have playbar and base connected to receiver and TV. It worked flawlessly prior to updating today. Now, when I select TV option, the play button is grayed out and I cannot select it to play. No sound from playbar or from base. I can choose a song and playbar works.
Hello, My setup: Vizio E500i-A1 HD TVArmstrong Cable PACE RNG200N DVR HD boxPlaybar, version 5.2(No Connect or Sub. Just two Play:1's in other rooms)My TV audio is turned off and the Playbar correctly starts up when I turn my TV on and plays audio fine. It also functions correctly as a music player when the TV is off. My problem: Occasionally, when changing cable channels, the audio will cut out (when the new channel comes on, it is without sound). The problem is rectified when I turn off the TV and turn it on again. It will then be fine until I change the channel again, when the problem may occur again. I have not been able to notice any pattern - sometimes this happens, sometimes it does not. Thanks for your help.
Upgraded yesterday and really dislike the new layout, you redisgned something that just didn’t really need it. Anyone else feel the same?
