how do I connect analogue sources to the playbar

I thinking of entering the Sonos world, I'd like to start with the Playbar acting as my only speaker system and expand the system later as required. What would I need to connect the Playbar to an analogue source in addition to the TV?

Hello David, The PLAYBAR has only one optical input designed to connect to your TV, so it is unable to take any additional inputs. However, other Sonos models do accept analog audio inputs which you could then stream to any and all Sonos units in your household. For example, if you have a PLAYBAR and a PLAY:5, the PLAYBAR will accept an optical audio input from the TV and play that audio. The PLAY:5 can accept an analog audio input from another device (like an iPod) and play that audio to both itself and the PLAYBAR. Why doesn't Sonos add (or design in the first place) the analog input into the playbar so that its customers don't have to spend $1,050 to get analog audio to their $700 playbar? This would also allow ANY TV with an audio output to be hookup directly to the playbar without any converters.

And to David, in the mean time if you don't have $350 for another Sonos component you could also just get an analog to optical converter such as this: http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Optical-Converter-Selectable-Sampling/dp/B0055EBH5S However, I've installed many of these and they fail A LOT so its a shame it doesn't come with analog in but there is this $35 solution.

Do they make 3 channel analog in (left/center/right)? All I can find are 2 channel, but the Playbar is 3! And I don't think combining 2 of these in to a third sounds like a good idea!
