New App Update is Terrible.... SONOS please listen to your customers and at least give us the option of using the old version. Why are you over thinking it. The previous version was about perfect. I use it everyday and now im fumbling and getting frustrated trying to control various rooms and sources... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
Hi. Thinking of adding to my system to incorporate the kitchen. Reasonably large kitchen and debating between a single play 3 or 2 play 1 for stereo pairing. Any suggestions as to which option may be best?. Thanks.
I personally CAN CONFIRM that X Box One X, set with HDMI to TV and Optical to BOSE SOLO 5 (same Dolby Digital only support as Sonos) CAN TRANSCODE DTS TO DD 5.1 in The fly. I tried Audio option HDMI Bitstream Bitstream DD 5.1 Deadpool Blu ray that has only DTS OST X Box trough HDMI to TV TV via optical to soundbar TV LG OLED B6V that has 5.1 passtrough All OK. As a counter proof I set Bitstream to DTS and resulting audio was mute. This is X Box one X but S is The same. Hope this can help
I have two Sonos accounts and want to merge the two. How do I change a registered Sonos One from one account to another?
I recently received a TEAC TN-350 turntable for Christmas. I attached the device to my SONOS Connect {Zone1} input. It works well from my directly connect speakers on Zone 1. However the other areas Zone 2 (two grouped Play 1), Zone 3 (single play3) , Zone 4 (Playbar) and Zone 5 ( Play) tend to drop out similar to a loss signal or just weak. I also notice that volume is not consistent. conversely the quality is so better when streaming over Sirius or Groove Music. Does anyone have any ideas why the difference in quality? The Teac Turntable output is through RCA going into Connect input.

Is anybody else finding that the new User Interface on an iPad is no longer as intuitive as it was before the recent upgrade? I'm not against change but this seems to have gone to far. Seems like a lot more selections required to Group SONOS units, and then to select music or radio items. The bar at the base of the window for home, units etc. perhaps should be visible on all screens. Less than impressed with this upgrade.
Not to cause a panic but according to an article on CNet " Practically every modern processor is vulnerable" to the subject bad guys. To be clear INTEL, AMD and ARM chips were specially mentioned. Specific products were laptops, tablets and phones. No mention of smart speakers like Sonos. Here's an excerpt from the article followed by a link: A newly discovered exploit in most modern processors could make your computer or phone vulnerable to attacks. But chipmakers say they've got fixes ready to go. Several researchers, including a member of Google's Project Zero team, found that a design technique used in chips from Intel, Arm and others could allow hackers to access data from the memory on your device. The problem impacts processors going back more than two decades and could let hackers access passwords, encryption keys or sensitive information open in applications. The flaws, known by the names Spectre and Meltdown, aren't unique to one particular chipmaker or device.
How do I file a warranty claim?
So I have 11 ceiling speakers all rated for 4-ohms to 8-ohms for each speaker. These: https://www.pyleaudio.com/sku/PDIC60/In-Wall--In-Ceiling-Dual-65-inch-Speaker-System,-Directable-Tweeter,-2-Way,-Flush-Mount,-White And 2 ceiling subwoofers rated for 8-ohms each. These: https://www.pyleaudio.com/sku/PDIWS10/In-Wall--In-Ceiling-10-High-Power-Subwoofer-System,-DVC,-Flush-Mount,-White,-Single-Speaker They're grouped in different rooms throughout the house, and the groups are wired to this volume knob in the wall: https://www.pyleaudio.com/sku/PVC1/Wall-Mount-Volume-Control,-In-Wall-Rotary-Speaker-Volume-Knob From the knobs the wires are sent to one central location. I don't mind all of them on the same zone. Is there any possible way to set up a Sonos system for them? Thanks
The Lanesborough Millésime trunk. Comes with a Sonos speaker (somewhere). Doesn't specify which model. 20-24 weeks lead time. :( https://www.edenbeing.com/boutique/boutique-for-the-home/EB103XX1315.html?curr=USD 😃
PLEASE add "Artist Radio" to the Tidal app within the Sonos app. It's not there that I can find. Also I can't save a "favorite artist" from the app either. I can do both of these things from the Tidal webplayer, so they're there. Thanks!!!
I see this has been discussed the past few years, but is this a feature/setting that is available? Ability to mute system/device when calls come in?
Hey guys just curious is there any sound difference between the Gen 1 play 5 and the Gen 2 version.
I have created a Playlist for a party. I have been adding songs. Is there any way to get information on the duration or play time of the list? e.g. The list takes 1 hour 20 minutes to play. Thanks much.
I was disappointed to find the Play 5 Flexon mounts did not have the option to mount the speakers vertically. So I custom built a frame without doing any mods to the original mounts themselves. I have attached pics of what I did. Unfortunately I will most likely not be able to respond to comments or questions as I am caring for my elderly parents and other responsibilities but hopefully you will get the idea and be able to build your own. All of the components are made of aluminum except for the strap.
I have just created a trigger using "Stringify" that (using "SmartThings" and a "Harmony Hub 'Activity' ") plays a specific playlist on my "Sonos" when I turn a light ON in the kitchen. That Sonos playlist was copied from Spotify. This is good ... but it would be better if the SONOS playlist could sync with my Spotify playlist so that the playlist on my SONOS "United Kingdom Top 50" (which is a copy of the playlist with the same name on my Spotify) is always up-to-date. I have the list playing 'shuffle play' so I get different songs each time, but I will soon notice that the playlist is always from December 2017! NB: The Harmony Hub can only 'See' the playlist that is saved on my SONOS, not the Spotify playlists. Thanks
Sonos sucks
I've got two Sonos 3 and a Sonos 1 set up in different rooms, with the app running on my phone and a home tablet. What's the best way to control this system? Meaning, if I want to stop the music in the bedroom, do I pause it on the app or pause it with the button on the speaker? Is one way better than the other? Same question with volume. What's the best suggested practice for this?
Full disclosure up front: this is very much a 1st world problem I am asking about and is barely an inconvenience. That said..... I have a setup with 18 different zones/rooms on different floors and locations. 2 things I would LOVE to see added to the controller app are: 1) The ability to single button ungroup - so say for instance I have 10 zones grouped together, I can ungroup them all with a single click. 2) The ability to create sub-groups for frequently group zones, for example "Upstairs" grouping all the rooms upstairs, or "basement" grouping the basement and garage areas. This way I can single click a sub-group instead of hunting through the room list each time to create the group.
I have spoken to a clever guy at Sevenoaks sound and vision and explained my problem and tested the playbase in the shop .He did a factory reset and a hard wire set .This found the chime but the playbase would not find the controller .So they exchanged it for a new one .What he said was that the software which updates the Sonos system is not always compatible with the controllers and might need a hardware set . Sonos need to get their software compatible after updates .It would appear in my case even after all this the play base was faulty .
One thing I like in the new app is the navigation bar at the bottom. But I don't understand why it disappears when you go to the Now Playing screen! It would be so much better and less confusing if the bar stayed there all the time. Right Sonos?
Hi all. I am looking for a way to connect the Projector to my SONOS system which is currently powering the sound for the TV. The Projector has WIFI but I have no idea if this would be of any use for the connecting the sound. I have a TOS link cable also but not sure where this would fit into the projector or the SONOS system or whether I'd need a switching box too. Basically clueless, so any help greatly appreciated.
How can I display my stations alphabetically instead of by most recently played?
I’m someone who rarely uses forum boards, but I created an account just to comment on how bad the new Sonos controller app is in hopes that voices will be heard. It is not intuitive, forces the user to go in and out of screens way too many times and is just plain clunky. A terrible step back from the simpler process of the previous version. PLEASE SONOS PLEASE! Bring back a UI that is more similar to the last version or make the flow of this one considerably better (like start from scratch). - a disappointed user
