Besides the playbase, arc and beam, does Sonos offer any speakers that I could use for my TV?
Hi Everyone. I have a PS4 Slim, a projector and a new Beam. I thought I did my research and purchased an HDMI splitter to have the video split to the projector and the audio to the Beam. However, the Beam does not recognize the HDMI input and I’m unable to complete the “TV Setup” through the Sonos Beam. Any advice here is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I am a long term (10+years) owner of SONOS equipment.I have (spread around the house) 2x 5’s 4x 1’s a sound bar and a sub.2 of the 1’s, the sound bar and the sub are my TV sound system.I am moving to a larger house that will support a much bigger TV.In order to have a ‘proper’ 5.1 surround system I want to add a pair of L+R front speakers.Bearing in mind that I do not want, nor have the cash, to upgrade all my SONOS kit to the newer versions, i need a solution that will work with the original hardware.Ideally I would like a pair of floor standing speakers for L+R fronts, the sound bar to act as the centre front speaker and the 1’s (or of possible the 5’s) to act as the rears.I dont think the sound bar gives a wide enough sound stage for true 5.1 surround sound.I have looked at the various kit that SONOS provides and I’m torn between a device that will connect the SONOS system to a standard HiFi A/V amp, but I’m not sure that will give me a signal to the sound bar /sub /rears, or just u
Hi folks, I have a pal who has the same system as me...2 Play 5 Gen2’s and the Sub.He is about to embark on fairly regular business trips(lasting about a week each time).I am asking this in his name…...Since he feels more comfortable not having his system plugged in while he’s away, can he “safely” shut it off(pulling the plugs, obviously) for say a week at a time and then safely re-plug everything in.Basically,if the system has been in a plugged in mode, with all components on for a while, does turning it off occasionally have a negative side effect,is his concern.I myself don’t know either.Greatly appreciate “thoughtful” feedback.Much thanks
I've been very happy with the Beam I attached to my tv. Today I bought a Sonos 1 SL to connect with Beam (as my wife needs it behind her, as she has a hearing deficit). I was able to set up the new unit and connect to the wifi Beam system. My issue is that the volume works in tandem. I want to control volume and treble/bass separately. Any suggestions?
had the sonos play 1 speakers and just added a new sonos one with voice support, however the sonos app doesnt give me the option under browse neither i do not have the “more’ tab.... help please
I have a home theater that is 32 deep and 24 feet wide. I currently have a 15ft screen (unsure of acoustic transparency but the installer told me people put speakers behind them all the time without issue) that I use as both a golf simulator and a movie screen.Going to put a sonos system in. Current thoughts: 1- Arc (behind the screen) 1- Sub (unsure of placement but open to ideas) 2 - side/rear spears - (either fives or ones) A few questions: Is this overkill? How bad will it be if the screen isn't acoustically transparent to put a speaker behind it? Should I pick the fives or the ones? Are fives overkill? Where should I put sub? Anything else I am missing? Thanks in advance!
I have spent so much time trying to get a straight answer on how to get a 5.1 setup to work using an Apple TV and a Beam plus the ones and a sub. But the answers on this forum tend to say say what DOESN’T work and not what DOES. So, in order to help the not too few people out there searching (there are a half dozen unanswered/unresolved posts so there is some niche demand)..my understanding is that:Getting true 5.1 - Connecting an Apple TV to Arc and a Projector - Two Ones as Rear Channel, One Subyou would need a device like this: https://www.hdfury.com/product/4k-arcana-18gbps/ which very specifically (and not cheaply) splits an Apple TV signal into eArc and HDMI. If I knew this would work I would order the Arc and that device right now. However, both are backordered.Getting true 5.1 - Connecting an Apple TV to Beam and a Projector - Two Ones as Rear Channel, One SubI am unclear here, and haven’t done as much searching. It seems like you could purchase a splitter that takes HDMI from
How do you tell if Sonos Connect is Gen 1 or Gen 2.Was bought in June 2015Can’t connect to Orbi router. Changed from ATT
I am updated to Sonos and have an extensive Sonos network— I want to add N external CD player—what equipment do I need?someone told me that to do this I needed Sonos to be on a separate network from my wireless networkthat doesn’t make sense to me thanks
I’ve added an ARC recently to my 2 FIVEs setup but the ARC is performing poorly. Suddenyl disconnects and stops playing or the quality deteriorates to something that doesn’t resemble music. Tried resetting, restarting etc. The FIVEs behave without a problem… Here’s a recording → https://www.dropbox.com/s/z88svqp26owt22f/IMG_0241.MOV?dl=0 This is becoming slightly frustrating, when you keep connecting the speaker to AppleTV and it disconnects immediately after a few seconds, so you end up watching a movie on TV speakers cos you just don’t have the energy to fight the d*** thing...while a brand new speaker sits there useless…. Hello,I Have a medium size family room that I want to set up 5.1 surround sound. Just wondering if I could use Arc as the Center, left and right speaker. Then the sub. And 2 of sonos wired ceiling speakers as rear surround for the surround system. (I understand I need the sonos amp for the 2 ceiling speaker). However, do I need to have a receiver to get surround sound if I want them all to work together? How would the Arc, sub and 2 ceiling speakers work as a 5.1 system?I understand for ambient whole house I need 1 amp for each of the 2 ceiling speaker. That part is easy to grasp but I’m stuck at the surround sound concept. Please help. Thanks so much!
I am using an old Sonos bridge to power 2 non-Sonos speakers in my outdoor kitchen. Having a hard time re-connecting to “line-in” feature for TV play. I assume direct Digital Optical cable wont work (don’t see input). I tried RCA’s directly with no luck. Thinking I need Optical converter/adapter into RCA’s. The speakers work with normal play (Spotify, etc) but can get the TV to connect. Thanks
I changed my password in Sonos, Now the sonos S2 app will not log in with that same password.
I’m recently unable to control my Sonos volume from the start- or lockscreen. Only when inside the app itself.Sonos isn’t in my notifications anymore either..Every option needed is enabled inside the app. Battery optimisation for Sonos is turned off.I tried deleting and re-installing the S2 app, without resolution.Any idea what I can do to resolve this?
Hi everyone, I have a Sonos Playbar which is out of warranty. Working fine except for the incredibly annoying high pitched noise coming from the power supply. The culprit is the transformer on the unit: DXTPQ3230.This is a fairly well known issue down to I’m assuming poor QA/ a batch of bad transformers that made their way into the Sonos supply chain. Does anyone know where I can source a replacement transformer? I’m in the UK so ideally a supplier in Europe. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Hello. I am having trouble with acessing my Sonos Connect from my Android phone. The S1 app wants me to uppgrade to S2, naturaly. But i can’t get passed the upgrade-message to continue to use the S1 app.The reason i do not want to use the S2 app, is that it can’t find my system. It says that Sonos S1 is not compatible with my system. But The Sonos Connect should be compatible with S1. Or am i wrong? Any advise is appreciated.
I have a beam and experiencing a very annoying issue. The left channel is not being heard wether it be movie, music or sports (as well through streaming not just tv) . The center is being heard from center but any sound that should incorporate left+right sounds right. Its iike the left isn't there. I have done everything acousticaly, removing obstruction, vacating space to both walls right and left of beam with right having just over 2m and left having just under 2m.i am sitting dead center. In YouTube r+l tests both channels work and I can't notice a much higher volume from the right one in test. Could this be my own hearing problem? Anything you can suggest?
I’m new to Sonos land and have a bunch of the ikea / Sonos speakers that don’t all that fabulously with AirPlay. I’d like to access BBC radio here in Canada using Sonos app. I can’t find the URL for live steaming it. Anybody help?
After a period of inactivity I find that the Arc goes to ‘sleep’ and needs to be awoken with a vol up or vol down input from the tv remote. It doesn’t automatically come up when audio is detected. The annoying thing about this is when it wakes the volume is at 0 rather than the previously used volume, so every time I wake it I then have to crank the volume all the way back up to a normal level. Is there any way to change this behaviour and have it use the last used volume?
Any reason why not allowing the user to play/pause + controlling volume directly from the system “tab”? Are there any other places than here to post suggestions? How it looks today: Suggestion to how it could look like:
I have a Sonos system in which all components are on the one network. There are twelve Sonos units (Beam, Connect:Amps and Ones), and two of the Connect:Amps are legacy gen 1s. I would like to make one floor of my house S1 including the old gen 1 Connect:Amps, and one floor S2 with the remaining units. I understand from a previous reply that I can have two Sonos systems - one S1 and one S2 - all on the same network. If so, are there any specific concerns, or ways that I need to set this up to make it work well? I’d like to have two of the S2-capable devices on the S1 system (to allow me to airplay to all speakers on the S1 system). Is there a way to specify/make these S2-capable Sonos units join the S1 system? Thank you Cal
Hi we purchased Sonos Amp and connected it to our existing amplifier that is connected to 7 in ceiling speakers each with a volume control slider on the wall. It seems to work but we’re worried about having 2 amplifiers together. thanks
My wife and I recently upgraded our iPhones to 11 Pro’s. We began having connection issues immediately with the new phones. Is Sonos doing anything to address this issue? I talked to Sonos customer service and have a case number, but one thing that’s of some concern is that the Sonos customer service folks are telling me they haven’t seen the issue before. After reading several blogs, it's apparent this isn’t a new or one-off problem…..I hope Sonos isn’t dodging the problem?
