HI! Since I will be using Beam with my projector (via optical adapter) I need to buy longer HDMI cable (12m/40ft). Does it matter what kind of HDMI I will buy? Would "standard speed HDMI with ethernet" be OK?
Why does the Sonos controller not show up on locked screen like it did previously (same phone and iPhone 7+)
Extremely disappointed today to learn that the £700 current and only soundbar from Sonos will NOT have the AirPlay 2 feature, which we (Apple users) have been so looking forward to. Also gutted as we have just approved a major kitchen rebuild with integrated ceiling speakers and Connect:AMP and there's no alternative for that too. Airplay 2 for should be for ALL your top price products please. At least, a very strong trade in programme should be announced soonest.
Hi, I just got a Play 1 and after few days of research, I understood that the basic function of having ANY sound of my computer, played to the Play 1, is not an option (yet?). However, I also found that the "Stream What You Hear" (SWYH) software can partly help, and stream the sounds to the Play 1...but with a delay. So for the moment, movies/youtube/videos... are not suitable because of that delay. However, I would like to test the "streaming" feature of "SWYH" but with TuneBlade, as I think they handle this delay issue in a better way (from what I read, the delay can also be due to the AirPlay technology). So my question is the following: to link the Play 1 with Tuneblade, I need the ip/port of my Play 1 in order to connect them together. Here is attached below a screenshot of the parameters of TuneBlade. In "type" I can select "Speakers/HiFi receivers" and "Shairport". I know the IP of my Play 1, but I can't find which port number to use. I tried 80, 443, 1024 ... with no success.
I love the CR100. Please keep it. But I applied for my voucher thinking ...OK. They are trying to compensate for the hundreds we spent. I have 2 active CR100’s and I sent them the serial numbers. I’ve got ONE voucher. And I need to spend it within 6 months. NO SONOS. That’s NOT fair. I don’t uave an immediate need for a new Play1 or whatever. I’ve got sonos devices all over the house. Please extend the time limit to at least one year.
I've been using a 2016 Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet to control my Sonos system without any issues. I was prompted to install the 9.0 update but cannot do so. Amazon says Sonos 9.0 is incompatible with this previous generation Fire HD 8, as well as a Fire 7 that I had purchased several months before. Is this true? Thanks in advance for all replies
I have Playbar, Sub, and two Play: 1's acting as left + right rear surrounds. The are placed on end tables on each end of my sofa. I was wondering if they should be angled towards the seating area, or placed just facing straight out?
Sonos 9.0 removes the ability to control volume from the lock screen but doesn’t tell you before upgrading. How do I revert?
Have a similar problem that has been reported - turntable through line-in to Connect is suffering constant drops out. I've tried all the suggested fixes (change the line-in setting to AirPlay device; Level set to 4; check on room interference etc, etc.) Need some help.
I installed the latest updates and tried using AirPlay with a Sonos 1 today – The Sonos 1 is sitting about four feet from, and in direct line of sight to my iPhone 7 Plus running iOS 11.3.1, with no other applications running (I force-closed them all), using Amazon Music or Pandora. Eight Sonos devices in the house, grouped, or not grouped. Only the Sonos 1 supports Airplay. 1) Various dropouts: Fairly often – averaging more than once during each song, the music stops for less than a second, sometimes longer than a second, or several seconds, sometimes skipping early to a new song, and sometimes audio output simply shuts down completely, with the only restart being to go back to the app and re-connect. 2) Long connect times - Connect times are longer than anticipated, sometimes 10+ seconds. 3) Noisier than it should be: And when connecting and these stops and starts, the cut-off or “cut-on” isn’t always smooth, and is occasionally obnoxious. Not Sonos quality at all.
Are the Internal web pages gone after the recent 9.0 update? I get this from every page and device (1, 3, 5v1, 5v2 and ZP-80) I've tried give me only an: Error 400 - Bad Request Diagnostic: 583533240 Replace the sonoszp80 with your IP address to try your system) http://sonoszp80:1400/status http://sonoszp80:1400/reboot http://sonoszp80:1400/advconfig.htm http://sonoszp80:1400/wifictrl
Just moved into a new home and the previous owner has in wall wired speakers. 2 upstairs, 2 downstairs and 2 outside for total of 6 speakers. Each has their own volume control knobs in wall outlet. I would like to upgrade my TV speakers to SONOS and I am wondering if I can purchase the SONOS connect to connect the new upgraded speakers with the existing wired speakers in the wall. Is this possible?
Hi there, I’m wondering if there’s a way to use my Sonos Play 5 to my existing 5.1 surround system. My receiver is a pioneer vsx 530. I’d like to use the Sonos play as my center channel. Is this possible???? Thanks!!!!
My controller only works when I disable my avast protection on my pc windows 10 64 bit operation system. My avast version is 18.5.2342 (build 18.5.3931.0). Any advise is appreciated thank you stephen.
Looking to jump into Sonos. Confused as to whether to just get the Beam, Beam + Sub, or Beam + two Play:1s? I can’t justify all of it at once and want to build the system over time. But if I could wring out a little more $$ what approach would you recommend? Use case is mostly TV:music:games about 50:30:20 in a small-ish family room/study 14x10. Thanks!
So hardware buttons and lock screen no longer work. I've uninstalled the app, reset the controller, and still nothing. Audio buttons only control the phone - or nothing at all. No lock screen anything. Why does this seem to happen with 80% of iOS builds? Is Apple freezing out Sonos, or has Sonos engineering just failed? (see v8.6 update debacle)
Getting it out of the way... I have to say the Sonos system is pretty impressive. In the past I've had a dedicated speaker/amp/preamp type of system for home theater. I've been using Martin Logan's (Vistas, Stage, Descent with Parasound amp and Anthem pre). With how the house is situated it was next to impossible to setup / run wires to rears to put on a breakfront behind the couch so it's been 3.1 for me for the last 9 years. We are moving to a much small space so knew this was not going to fit in the new space so all of it is going. I started looking into soundbars a few months ago and from what I read thought I was going to go with a Sony ST5000 as it seemed to have all the features I wanted and the reviews were spectacular on it. Seeing they had one at BestBuy I had a demo of it. I'm not sure who is getting paid off to write reviews but it sounded nothing like the review. Tiny and thin is the way I would describe it best. Granted we were in a pretty open , but not
I am in the midst of planning to put an audio system for my backyard and I got some estimates from audio companies, which turned out to be a big waste of time. So now I decided to see if I can install a decent system for the setup I have and plan to expand. I recently did my backyard with a inground pool with a 3200 square foot patio. If facing the pool from my back patio door, there is a current cut out that is the eating area and eventually will be the bbq/kitchen area. Next to that area is a circular section that has the firepit. To the left of the patio door is a sitting area and next to that is my raised sundeck with the waterfall next to it. I currently have a 3/4 inch conduit pipe running from the basement to the electrical sub panel near the pool pump. I have access in the basement that I can also drill through the foundation to gain access to the backyard. I’m not looking to blow my neighbors but I want a system that I can hear with no issues from the pool area. I don’
Any plans for Headphones from Sonos. that would be awesome. First of all I like to listen in Headphones as well because sometimes my family doesn't want to listen to Music when I want to. Seconsly I have a Playbar, a sub and 2 Play1 connected to my TV but sometimes when my family are asleep I want to listen to TV in Headphones so I don't disturb them, and this is very bothersome now. Come on Sonos. It's time for some serious Product development.
Is there a way to automate playing music on my sonos? We have a play one in one of our bathrooms and the kids always put their music on it and when I use it I don't want to go through the multiple menus to play my music. We use Rhapsody and the kids usually have a playlist that they play. I usually use one of the radio stations 80's rock. On the sonos controller you have to go through 4-5 menu's to get to this particular station and it is laborious. I'm thinking of a "button" a zee wave button, an amazon "dash" button or something similar that has a single purpose. Push it and it sends the proper commands to sonos to tell it to play rhapsody channel "80's rock" on this play1 at this volume. Thats all it does. We could have another button that plays the kids play list. No need to navigate the controller at all, just push and play. Has this been done? Can this be done. Seems like it would be a great feature.
Hi all, Can anyone recommend good quality outdoor speakers(since sonos doesnt do an outdoor speaker) I understand you can use Connect amp,but I seek advice on an outdoor wireless speaker
Hi everyone! I'm quite new to Sonos having bought a pair of Sonos Ones about a week ago. Being absolutely amazed by the sound quality, my next plan is to complement these either with a Playbase or a Playbar so as to setup a home theatre in my living room. I would like this setup to be AirPlay 2 compatible (once it is supported) and knowing that Playbar is not as likely to support AirPlay 2 as the Playbase, I wonder if I can still get away with it by having the two Ones as rear speakers connected to the Playbar as part of the home theatre setup. In other words, if I had a Playbar (hypothetically not supporting AirPlay 2) and two Ones connected to the former as rear speakers, would I be able to stream music through AirPlay 2 to the whole Home Theatre or will I only be able to stream over AirPlay 2 to the pair of Ones? I know any discussions on AirPlay 2 are still speculation, but I suppose the answer to my question should be predictable based on another currently possible setup:
I have 2 play5s as stereo sound. The bass seems very good. Would I gain any improved fidelity by adding a subwoofer to the system? Like I said the bass seems very fine without a subwoofer. Thank you.
I wanted to ask how many 8 OHM speakers I can connect (using a speaker selector to match the impedance) without overloading the amplifier (assuming I occasionally would play them all together) or degrading the sound. I understand sonos recommends a maximum of 4 per amp, but wondering what's the max I can get away with without degrading the sound too much. Ideally I'd like to connect 8 in-wall speakers to a single Sonos AMP. I'm not an audiophile nor do I listen to my music super loud (rarely, if ever happens) but don't want it to sound like a tin can either. Also, assuming I use the speaker selector to impedance match, do I run the risk of damaging the AMP if I connected 4 pairs of speakers to it? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Can you enable Siri Voice control for your Sonos One without IOS device?
