Dear sonos-developers, Are there any plans to release an SONOS Apple watch app in the near future? I hope so!
With my previous Samsung television, I was able to control the volume of the Playbar with my Directv remote. I now have an LG OLED55C7P with the same Playbar and same Directv remote, but I cannot get the remote to control the volume. Has anyone figured out a way to fix this so I don't have to use my phone to control the volume?
When I turn the TV off the Playbase’s volume increases to max for a split second letting out the last noise on the tv.
I’m happy that I can now control my Sonos devices through Siri on my iPhone, but I’m given an error message when trying to execute the same command on my iWatch. Is this expected?
Hello, I would like to do a new audio-visual setup in my place but I am not sure if this would be feasible and if so how. I am not purchasing the individual sonos nor the projector before I figure out how to do this. Basically 1. I want to use a projector mounted on the ceiling as opposed to a tv to see games, movies etc. 2. I would like to connect my cable box (already connected to a router) and possible an appletv to this projector, but wirelessly 3. I would like to use a sonos system (one with/without playbar) for sound for these (plus for playing music as well) Is this feasible and if so what would be the appropriate setup? In particular, what kind of projector do I need to get? I get confused over projetors that claim to have wireless mirroring versus those that you can connect a hd wireless connection kits. These kits have a base which you can input other devices. And on the sonos part what should be the best combination? Basically, I cannot have long wires connecti
I have a TCL 43S515 TV that I can turn off via voice on Beam but it won't turn off via voice control. However, I am able to turn on or off the TV using the Roku App on my mobile phone. Is there a setting to enable this on via voice? When I tell Alexa to turn on TV I just get the "OK" confirmation from Alexa.
Need Help with set-up. I connected my Beam to the Receiver using the HDMI/Optical converter - plugged into the Optical TV/Sat digital output slot. Have Roku HDMI to receiver Input. Have HDMI cable from Receiver output to projector HDMI input (not arc). The Roku displays content through the projector successfully. The problem is that the Beam does not produce sound but the projector does (poorly of course). What am I doing wrong?
When I play songs from my iPhone playlist if often skips to the next song halfway through for no reason. It also cuts out frequently. Here is my diagnostic 7694632. Please help
I have an older home theater system that is fairly complicated, not to mention bulky. I'm considering a Beam to help simplify things and conserve some space. When I first set this up 6 years ago, optical media was king, and loud, bombastic movie night was our thing. But, the kids are older, and the AppleTV is now the primary source. So, here's what I currently have: TV: 2013 LG 60PV450. Might support HDMI ARC, but most likely not. AVR: Denon 7.1 Sources: Dish Network Hopper, gen 4 AppleTV, PS4, Nintendo Switch Current speakers: Velodyne 12" sub, Polk Monitor series 7.1 remote: Logitech Harmony Hub So - I'd like to keep the TV and sources, but swap out the large speakers and older Denon AVR. I currently have 2 Sonos Play:1 speakers (love 'em!) that I can use for surrounds. If I get the Beam, I **might** get lucky and find my TV supports HDMI ARC, or most likely need to use the HDMI to optical adapter, leaving me with 2 available HDMI ports on the TV. I'm thinking the Hoppe
Is it just me but I am sad that the dock will be of no use after the next software update. Yes yes I know it's been out there a long time but for me who has 1000's & 1000's of CD worth of music on my trusted iPhone/iPod that is my main source of music will no longer be supported, sure I can use the inline to play but it mean I have to keep touching the iPhone/iPod to select music as the CR200 will just be a volume control at this point, (oh don't get me started that the CR200 will be next to get bricked). I have been a sonos user from the very beginning and owing so many of there products and seeing so many of my favorite hardware go bye bye it's sad sure time has change for better but for us who is completely satisfied we should have to go out and buy new products if we really don't need to jus to keep up with the Jones's. I guess I can just not update as most of all the new update does not apply to any of my hardware and maybe it will keep working. If I am forced upgrade and what I h
So.. after being FORCED to update the app my system is now completely unusable. EVERY TIME I start the app it tells me I need to update. An update which, by the way, HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY EQUIPMENT I HAVE!! I cannot access the account because the app only allows me to reset the password. This is on EVERY handset I have. So.. I cannot log in on any of my Android devices. My entire music library is now not playable on any of my speakers. WTF have you done!!?? What idiot thought this update was a good idea? YTF do you have to FORCE users to update an app that was working perfectly well when the update DOES NOT APPLY? Well done. You have now rendered my system entirely useless.
I am new to Sonos. I was planning to purchase 2 Sonos One speakers to add music to my dining room/kitchen area, but with the release of Sonos Beam, I am wondering if I should go for that instead. Note: If the Play:5 had smart speaker functionality (which I am pretty sure is on its way), that would be my choice. Note: I know it's too early to talk about the Beam, but I figure people with Sonos experience may have an opinion nonetheless.
I'm addressing 2 issues. Firstly the sound on my smart TV is atrocious and secondly, I want a decent music system in the same room - a 16x21ft room with vaulted ceiling and very few soft furnishings. I'm considering a Sonos beam plus a couple of Play 1s. Am I on the right lines or selling myself short? Secondly, how should I mount this combo in relation to each other - for example the Play 1s on an opposite wall to the Beam or on the same?
I know this has been written about many times but I can’t seem to find a solution and it’s starting to really bug me. Every time I listen to a podcast on my iPhone through Sonos, it stops or skips every five minutes. Can Simone at Sonos please help me it with this problem? Thanks
I would like to be able to quickly switch from a few "configurations" of speakers. That would allow me, for example, to easily group the living room, dining room and kitchen, then ungroup them to play the TV in living room (and avoid echo sound). Saving the volume as well would be very useful too: When sitting in one room, I must re-tweak the volume of each speaker of the apartment to get a great sound in that room. Is that possible? If not how do I request this? 😛
I feel like writing a thread directly comparing all three of the products, and explaining the features of all three so you can pick what's right for you. Hoping this thread is high-ish on Google to help with newcomers and I was bored. I don't work for Sonos, so take what I say with an unofficial word. What differentiates these three products from the Play series? The Play 1, 3 and 5 are music oriented speakers designed to work purely over WiFi with your favourite music streaming services. The Play 5 features an auxiliary port for using an external device like a phone. But the hint is there - the Play series can't be used as TV speakers alone. If all you're going to do is stream music - consider those instead. The Beam, Playbar and Playbase are Sonos' home theatre speakers which are designed to work with your TV and also have all that music streaming capability built in. If you enjoy watching YouTube, films, or just making your TV setup be part of the whole-home music scene th
I have tired all the "solutions" I found here (Manage --> Update Music Library Now as well as deleting music folder and relinking from the settings tab). Neither is working. My playlists show up, but they are "older" versions (newly added music is not showing up). For example, I have a playlist titled "Love it". In iTunes it contains 499 songs currently. I tried both updating and also deleting/relinking the entire music folder but the "Love it" playlist still contains the old number of songs that were in that playlist (434). It's like the music files are not truly being removed from Sonos when I delete the folder from the library and then link to it again. I just verified that my iTunes Music Library XML file has a current date and there is only one iTunes Music Library XML file in my music folder. A search in Sonos for songs I know are new (they are showing in iTunes on the "Love it" playlist and should have been added) are still not showing up. I run Sonos off my PC and my mus
Looks interesting. Wonder if it properly supports stereo pairs? Also, can it use Siri to search Music? http://www.thegarageinnovation.com/suono/index.html
I had a play 1 in my fairly large kitchen, and I thought I’d replace it with a play 5. The 5 arrived yesterday, and if I’m really honest, I’m not hearing much of a difference between the two speakers. I’ve done a side by side comparison with classical, rock, pop & jazz and there’s no noticeable improvement when listening on the 5 vs a 1. Even when I listen to bass-heavy music the play 1 sounds just as good as the 5. It’s not that the 5 sounds bad, it’s just the play 1 sounds just as good to me. I have a 5.0 setup in the living room (Playbar and 2x play 1s) and that does sound better, probably due to the stereo separation of the play 1s at the rear. I think I might return the play 5 (£500) and get another play 1 (£150) to create a stereo pair in the kitchen. I was surprised to discover this. I’m no audio expert but I do listen to a lot of music. Has anyone else come to the same conclusion?
I've gotten notifications for several updates in the past few weeks. I have a Sonos at home and at work, and this is making for a ton of work because I have to do double the work. Is it possible to consolidate multiple updates into one release? The other issue is, in certain instances, I have to reconnect to my sonos (i.e. press the volume up & mute). Not sure what's going on. I love my sonos speakers, but these updates are killing me.
Hi I am considering buying a sonos beam and appreciate some opinions. I intend to link the beam with a new 4k blu ray player (possibly LGUBK90 supporting dolby vision and dolby atmos) as well as Sky q. I looked on the back of a random 4K blu ray (Avengers infinity war), the audio format on the disc is reported as Dolby 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos / Dolby Digital 7.1 / Dolby 2.0. From what I have read the player and tv will send the soundbar the best format it supports/signals so I believe in this case the sound will be sent as Dolby 2.0. What experience do other people have of playing movies using the beam with Dolby 2.0? Does anyone have this movie and how does it sound? I'm worried if all the new movie releases ship with Dolby atmos or DTS.X and a provide a Basic Dolby 2.0 mix I may be disappointed with the sound while watching movies.
Since I downloaded the recent updates my system has become unusable. Is anyone else having the same issues?
Please consider the following suggestions for the next release: 1.) Add a Search function within the "Queue" to enable us to search for a track, artist, or album without having to scroll up and down to find the song we want to play and without having to re-add the song to the queue, thus creating duplicates. 2.) Related to suggestion #1 above, if we do add a track that's already existing in the Queue, it would be nice if Sonos tells us that it already exists in the queue to prevent duplicates and give us an option to play it now or play it next instead without having to add it to the queue again. 3.) When selecting "Replace Queue" from the drop down list, it would be nice if Sonos reverts back to the old design where it did not automatically start playing the songs in the queue. That's what "Play Now" and "Play Next" are for. Thank you!
So I already have 2 play 5's for music. I am looking for a sound bar for my TV and thinking of putting the play 5s with either a Beam or Playbar for a 5.x system. The TV and sofa are in 14 foot by 14 foot space, with the left extending further into the dining area. Which setup would you guys recommend? 1) a beam with the 5's for a 5.0 2) a Playbar w the 5's for a 5.0 3) 1)+ sub for 5.1 4) 2)+ sub for 5.1 I am leaning towards the beam because of HDMI ARC. But got a feeling the 5's will overpower it Comments and recommendations are much appreciated. 🙂
[I posted this to Lutron community forums as well] Hi there: I have a Lutron Homeworks QS system and a Lutron Connect Bridge (CONNECT-BDG2-1). I am using the Lutron Connect app to program controlling my Sonos system. I have run into two fatal problems… 1) When a keypad button in programmed to play a Sonos favorite, it seems to add the songs to the current queue (and in some random/shuffle order I don’t understand) instead of replacing the songs in the queue with the songs from the favorite. The same behavior happens when you “cycle” the favorites via Lutron. This is not how Sonos app behaves when I ask it to play a new playlist – it replaces the existing songs in the queue (like it should). Is this not possible with Lutron integration? 2) When I assign raise/lower volume, it only changes the volume of a specific device/zone and not all devices that are part of the group. I know Sonos integration allows for adjusting the group volume – so this has to be an issue on the Lutron s
