I’ve had a Beam running with two Play 1s as rear speakers for around a week now. Everything works fine and I’m enjoying using Alexa. I’m intrigued though as to exactly what sound it is that’s being extracted from ordinary stereo music streamed from Spotify, and output through the rear speakers. Does anyone know please? My previous Sony surround system used to be able to do this but then it had all sorts of fancy capabilities (pro logic etc) which I don’t think the Beam has.
After speaking with both Chromebook and Sonos, still no solution to get Sonos to connect to wifi through Acer Chromebook. It had been working for 8 months.
Hi guys, I'm experiencing pretty weird issue with Sonos Playbar optical input when I'm trying to use Pro-Ject pre-amp via Toslink it skips audio every single second. So it plays for a second, then pause then again plays a second, and again pause. When I connect Apple TV via Toslink it plays constantly and has no issues. I've double checked everything, cables, ground, connection, tried different input sources. Can't understand how it's actually possible, but here we are. I even can't explain what's wrong with Playbar as it plays audio through Apple TV, so it can't be returned due warranty. Any ideas how I can fix it?
What is the cost, and where do I send a Connect AMP for out-of-warranty service/repair? I live in Singapore and can't find any repair place in Singapore
I knew the new crippled desktop controller was coming because I read it here, but when I actually took the 9.2 update there was no warning at all. There are going to be a LOT of very surprised desktop users out there. There's a few on the forum now, but adding a warning to the pre-upgrade message would save Sonos at least some of the forthcoming vitriol.
So I have a Connect and I have a Pro-Ject Essential III turntable. I have the turntable plugged into the Connect, however I still hear no sound over the rest of my wireless Sonos system. Any ideas on what the problem is? Should I have bought a ConnectAmp instead? Thanks
I’m setting up a projector with a Directv Genie and am wondering what the best way to hook up my Beam to the Genie for audio.
Can you make a Sonos application for smart-tv? I'm using Sonos Connect in the living room and it would be very nice to get it on the TV (Got a Samsung UE55ES6805). I know a lot of people who chose Apple TV instead of Sonos just because of this.
I'm in China, use spotify daily with their app and I never had any problem, it works perfectly. Sonos officially support Spotify, but seem the in China it's a big problem. I finally been able to set-up my spotify account on sonos after about 3 hours of pain, through the poorly designed android and windows app. Now I got it working, but the songs would only play for 30-60 seconds before the connection is lost because it says the internet connection is too slow. I'm streaming Spotify with their own app and HD Netflix movie through my home connection and never had any problem, why the hell sonos is not able to stream a damn song ? Why the hell i cannot directly play my spotify library stored on my phone to sonos since their streaming is so bad ? I believe both these company focus first on how to make max money and have long forgotten about their costumers needs as they seem to never have talked or agreed to have some sort of common library... we are in 2015, not 1995 ! This is deepl
Am I missing it, or is there no longer a sleep timer option in the new iOS/Android apps? It's still available in the desktop app but that's a real pain when I want it to turn off after, say, half an hour (usually at bedtime) and do not have the computer on. I do quite like the new app, but that's a bit poor. I was trialing the beta as well and logged that sleep timer was missing a few times. My comments seem to have not been noted! 😞
I am looking into getting the beam for my TV-setup. I love surround-sound, but haven't had it in years. Now I am considering getting Play:1 or One in the back to complement the Beam, but does it work well without audio lag? Are the "One" better than the older Play:1? Would the newer model use it's microphone to tune the sound for my room together with the Beam or am I expecting too much?
My Sonos controller will not launch the Sonos app on my Desktop PC. It has been working fine for over a year now. I have a seperete I Pad and the controller is working fine on this machine but as my music library is stored on my Desktop PC I cannot add new music. The system is happy to play my songs from the Sonos App in my library. I downloaded the latest Installer to my Desktop PC with the same result. I get the introductory Black screen but the controller will not launch. Any help appreciated
When tv is switched on or channel changed in one room, the speaker in another starts playing the tv sound.
Will Sonos be updating original soundbar to support air play 2 and HDMI input?
I cannot express how deeply dissapointed I'm in Sonos that without warning or choice my CR100 is not working anymore! I loved that i had a dedicated device to browse through my library, please give that back! The app on the phone is not even approaching the good old CR-100! Some examples: - The app needs to log on again after a while. - The physical hard wired controls are great and work much better than fidling around in the app. - Browsing with the jog wheel through your library is so much better than on a screen - I don't want to pass my tablet/ phone to friends when you have a get to getter. - I spent a lot of money on components, a dedicated controller should be an option. And really... it should be the easiest thing for sonos to develope you did it before! all techniques are there already! What to do now.. wanted to extent my system but serious doubting to sell it and migrate to B&O Beo sound.. Maybe with next update my play 3 will stop working..... no the
..........and once again, the system totally craps out after an update...........thanks SONOS
i want to buy the playbar but it is an old model and the beam i think is not heavy enough
I have a new Onkyo TX-RZ630 that I’m setting up in a dedicated home theater room. I’m trying to decide on using a connect or connect amp in this room as if I had a connect amp I would send those two channels outside creating two zones one in the theater and another outside is this possible ? Information on the Onkyo works with Sonos equipment is very hard to find.
Quick question... I have a epson projector which I connect to my Apple TV at that is all, no other devices. I want to buy the Beam with the play 1s for surround sound but have read this is tricky. Can I run hdmi from projector to Apple TV then use optical from beam to Apple TV and get surround sound?
Hi ya'll, I have a Vizio E500-B1 that's almost 4 years old. I recently hooked up a Beam to it no problem and had no issues using the Roku remote to control the TV volume. Until this morning. I woke up, used the Roku remote to turn on the TV and hit the volume button. Nothing. Plus, no audio was coming out of the Beam from the TV. I checked the Sonos app and the Beam is still present and will play Spotify, podcasts etc. It's totally functional aside from no longer putting out audio from the HDMI ARC. I did the standard power cycles- Unplugged the TV for an hour w/ HDMI ARC unplugged, plugged it back in, yadda yadda- and that didn't fix anything. CEC is enabled in the TV menu. Where I think the problem is is that if I go into the Settings menu of the Sonos app and try to re-do the CEC/HDMI setup for the Beam, it gets to the step where it performs the CEC test and fails. Any ideas here? The only thing I haven't tried is nuking the speaker entirely and re-adding it.
When I first turn on my TV, the Sonos Beam volume starts off really loud and then resumes at normal volume after a few seconds. I hope there is a way to fix it since it is jolting to hear every time you turn the TV on with the remote.
App (Windows) does not say "Set up new system" - it just says "Learn how to set up new system"
So as the title states. I am looking to spend around $700. For that I can get a Playbar or a Beam with 2 Play 1's. My setup will be used 80% for music and 20% for sports and movies. Any opinions or help in the matter would be greatly appreciated.
Hi I'm about to upgrade my tv and dvd player to a Samsung UE65K8000 TV and Samsung UBD-K8500. I already have a Sub, Play 1 x 2 and Sonos Playbar linked to my Sky Q box (can't connect old Pioneer TV direct) and Apple TV (gen 1) using an optical manual switch. My question is should I connect my Playbar directly to the new TV or still through the Sky Q box - are there any advantages/disadvantages either way. Also, I'm thinking I can get rid of the Apple TV as Netflix, etc is on the new Samsung TV. Can anyone advise if I am missing anything that this new setup would not give me. Thanks
I realise that there has been a fair bit of feedback on the controller app recently, especially since the 9.2 update but I just wanted to provide my own feedback and what I believe are shortcomings of the app. Firstly, to explain my usage - I've had a couple of Sonos Ones for almost a year now and overall absolutely love them. I predominately listen to locally stored music (plus radio as an alarm in the mornings) but not streamed music. I work from home at a PC, so have music on all day every day and therefore mainly use the PC app during the week and the mobile app at weekends. I realise that the above probably makes me in the minority - not streaming music and not using the mobile app as much, but there you go. I feel that the controller has quite a few shortcomings that I would like to share, with the hope that some of these could be addressed over time; 1 - I realise that the 65k song limit is more to do with the hardware than the software and if there are any changes to t
