While trying to setup surround sound on my beam and 2 x play:1’s I get an error message saying it failed to setup. I have tried resetting up all the speakers about 6 times now and it fails every time. All speakers are updated and I’m setting up on my iPhone 8plus with the Sonos app up to date. Network is fine and tested and I can get the beam working with the TV (LG) fine but no surround sound. HELP!
Hi everyone! I'm trying to set my living room on a 5.1 surround and I currently have the Soundbar and the Sub. What have I to buy now? Two Play 1 or two Sono's One? I'm just wondering which are the differences between these two components.
Don't spam me in-app with ads for your products, Sonos. It's unacceptable. If you want to guarantee than I don't buy your products ever again, all you have to do is annoy me with a "new message" when I open the app, which turns out to be advertising. Stop it, please. It's very annoying, and I promise you that it's counterproductive.
Sonos cannot connect to my mac. I have followed all the instructions and very frustrated as I have spent a lot of money on an Audio consultant and the hardware ... and am still playing music on my phone when we have guests! please help!
I have a Sonos Beam and a Panasonic Viera TXP-42GT30. The query is using Alexa via the Sonos Beam. I can ask Alexa to turn the TV sound up as well as turning the TV on/off. The issue is when asking to change TV channels and Alexa details that it can't find the TV device and go the Amazon Alexa app to enable the Panasonic TV via the Skills & Games section. I then search for Panasonic TV which I find & then click on 'Enable To Use'. It then asks me sign-in with my Panasonic ID, which I do. It then asks me to register the device first 'Please check the device information in "Smart Speaker Setting" on your TV This is numeric only and has four fields - you can enter 12 digits by the look of things. Where do I find the Device ID? I have looked through the Panasonic TV setting and cannot readily find it. Please advise or let me know if there is another way to get this to work,
Hi, New Sonos user. Just got the Play1. One of the great features of using Airplay on my yamaha receiver is that I can see the album art and track playing on the tv screen (that is hooked up to the receiver). Would love it if Sonos could create something like that.
I have a number of Sonos speakers in three rooms. Recently purchased a Beam and set up surround sound with 2 Play 1s and Samsung Smart TV. When I play music, all speakers are selected in the group. However, if I turn on TV and play music later, the room which has the Beam and Play 1s has to be reselected. Not a big deal, but irritating!
Hi all, What if you were the artist in Spotify and on the Sonos speakers, now this could be your moment; Karaoke on Sonos. Imagine the fun you have with Sonos and when you could sing into the speakers on your own phone, not alone you but with all your friends togheter. Am thinking about this: The idea is to implant an new function in the Sonos controller app and with using your microphone on your phone to sing with all the songs. Please reply and share! Thankyou. Let me start by being clear, i'm not here to dis sonos or their products as I'm a great fanboy of what they do and make and I've just ordered a pair of One's to go with my existing x6 Play 1's. I wouldn't argue that the Sub is capable of delivering deep bass to your sonos setup, but I would like to challenge sonos on how the Sub looks aesthetically as a product. If we look at the Play 1's, the PlayBar an even the current Play 3's they are good to look at and can be placed anywhere in a room, but there is one thing and only this thing that has ever stopped me buying this whopping £699 Sub. (Well apart from her indoors) Frankly it's an Ugly lump of plastic that's sits in the corner of a room hoping that one day instead of being heard someone will take time to admire it. Come on sonos you're making some great new and updated products that are eye candy to me but you fail to turn your Sub from a lump of plastic to something of beauty - you even bowed to screams for a white sub from t
I've been running my SONOS from a Windows 10 PC and all was well until they updated the controller which no longer does many things including pairing speakers etc. My Samsung tablet was working well but even the latest app no longer works with SONOS. As I'm not likely to spend loads of money buying a newer model tablet just to run SONOS I thought I'd get an app for my Windows phone. Apparently one is not available. What now?!
So, I have a house that is wired for 5 zones of speakers, 1 pair of speakers per zone--and I need help with selecting the hardware. The way I see it, there are four different operations for the hardware to perform: 1. Source selection and main volume control 2. Converting from stereo to mono (for at least some of the zones, if not all) 3. Pre-Amp: Volume control for each zone (including On/Off) 4. Power Amp I see several different options: Option 1: Sonos Power Amp (new version) for all 5 zones. - This is an elegant solution with high power capacity, and it even provides Operation 2 above (i.e. conversion to mono), but it is very expensive at $600/zone equals $3000. - It is also very costly to upgrade, as any upgrade would require a full replacement of everything. (Note that the piece that will require upgrades the most will be the Source Selection operation, as that is the most prone to changes in technology. Everything else should last for decades.) Option 2: So
i have made some applets in ifttt using sonos , working all fine ( and I can give them a name or tittle I want)...and now I see that sonos has made some applets theirselves using 2 actions together ( which we can not do on our own if we make an applet) so now I wonder if we can rename that kind of pre build applets, this woud be very handy... (I use applet thats sets volume and the choice of favourite, working fine, but i can not rename that applet or widget, so i will never know which volume and favourite are underneath the widget button)... so either we can build own applets using more then one action, or we should be able to rename the pre build sonos apllets
Hi. I have 3 devices that I normally use with my playbar (satbox, dvd, AppleTV). All used to work fine but now they’ve all stopped working. I reset the playbar and reinstalled it without any issues (normally meaning the playbar actually hears the ‘tv’ signal) I also brought a new 50m optical cable (not cheap and possibly not needed) but this has not fixed the issue. I think the problem might originate from the lastest update, as all was good before. I can still stream music no problem and use inline via connect without a problem. So, ideas please... Cheers, Luke
As we mostly all know by now, some TV’s (especially LG) have lip sync issues with the Beam. Most people report that switching from Dolby to PCM helps the problem. So before I buy a Beam, can anyone tell me what the real world difference is in sound quality and UX (when not using the Beam with any other speakers). Is it really noticeable? If I’m really going to be missing out, should I look at other options?
I am wondering if there is any plans to allow a stereo pair to play along with beam rather than rear surrounds, most people don’t have the space to have rear speakers so a front set to widen sound option would be more useful, also if ambients are in stereo in tv playback then why does it switch to mono during music playback
The issue I'm making this feature request to address is that, with Google Play Music, if I navigate to a podcast and want to listen to all the available episodes, and so I double-click the podcast to add all the episodes to the queue and replace it, they go in in reverse order. By which I mean the latest episode is the first in the queue, and then the next latest is the second in the queue. This means that when the podcast episodes start playing, I hear the latest one first. Which would be great if I were a regular listener, but isn't so great with podcasts where I don't listen regularly. Because there could be 2 or more episodes I then listen to in reverse order. Recognizing that part of it may be that Google Play Music's sorting is non-standard and reversed (I don't know - this is just conjecture), what would be nice would be a quick way to re-sort the queue to reverse it from its current sorting. If this is an operation I am just missing how to do in the current version of
Hi all........Can anyone help me out here please. I have multiple Sonos speakers around the house, some are wired at the router and all others are connected via wifi. I just added a Boost, and connected it to the router via ethernet. Does the Boost now take precedence over any other wired products connected to the router in order to create its own network?
Hi All, I have added a Play:1 to my set up and mounted it in the bathroom, because the UK dont alllow sockets in the bathroom I have mounted in the top corner of the room(on the wall) and dropped the power lead down from the loft. The speaker is mounted above head height, the problem here is that the bottom of the paly:1 looks unsightly with the sticker/plug/feet so I have mounted it upside down with the status light and buttons facing down. Also the buttons are reachable/usable and as sonos can be read both ways the speaker looks the correct way up!! Looks great!:) My only concern is with the humidity proof claims, with the plug being on the top is there more potential for condensated water to seep in to the AC connection? Had several showers and seems fine but thought I would gather a few peoples opinions??
After ordering my Beam I had read a number of posts surrounding lip sync issues between the Beam and LG OLED TV's. I received my Beam yesterday and hooked it all up (Full 5.1 setup)......... and there were no issues whatsoever with lip Sync. I used the HDMI ARC input and everything was totally fine. I was extremely weary after reading all the negative posts.........but for me it worked like a dream. I have a LG B6 Model that I purchased in November 2016 and I used my own HDMI Cable versus the one provided to me in the box (it was too short to go through my wall). I did nothing special with the controls...... I basically just followed the instructions on the App. I just think everyone needs to try for themselves as the blanket statements regarding LG OLED TV'S is quite misleading. Cheers, Craig P.S. the Beam sounds pretty darn amazing with the full 5.1 setup........ but certainly holds it's own all by itself.
HI I am planning on purchasing the New Sonos Amp next year to replace my existing Marantz amp, Sonos connect + dac to stream line it all and hopefully give me a better home theatre in exchange. I currently have the above set up with two Monitor Audio bookshelf speakers. I use this system for listening to music and also to play my TV audio as well. My Question is: I want to improve my TV audio and the new amp has hdmi arc so I want to turn my system into 4.1 by adding a Sonos Sub as well as use 2 play 1s as surrounds speakers (which I currently own). Will they all pair up with my bookshelf speakers and will the system sound good? Or is it better to buy a matching monitor audio sub? I prefer the idea of Sonos Sub as its wireless. Thanks in advance
I am producing music in iMAC and Logic and wish to stream the output to my Sonos system. I have tried the Audiobridge software but the delay makes it useless for me. Now I am wondering if a Sonos Connect could do the thing? I have not seen any specification of the delay time. Is it milli micro or seconds?
Was reading another What Hi-Fi article on Sonos Beam tips, as I am getting it tomorrow and then they go to say this... WHAT??? haha Price aside, the SUB makes a positively huge difference owning one myself, and listening to the Beam display at the store I work in. I also snuk a SUB into the warehouse as one of two came off display to accomodate space for the new Beam. And paired with a Play 3 in a warehouse my colleagues agreed it sounds miles better. I don't know what they mean by blunt instrument... lol
I just got a new TV and cannot connect the remote control. I went to room settings, chose TV room, remote, remote control setup, and when I pressed the volume + button the soundbar did not detect any signal. I tried doing with IR switched on and off and it didn't work. It's a new LG OLED TV.
Not sure if this has been suggested before but couldn't find anything so apologize in advance if so: Has anyone done this as a workaround for the 65k track library limit? I have close to 500k tracks in my NAS based library. I gave up trying to make a 65k track library but streaming services have major f'ing holes in their offerings. So here is a proposed solution: A script that indexes your local library and then queries the services you subscribe to. It then compares what is in your local library with what is available through streaming. Based upon the results of those queries it makes a subset of your local library that moves or makes symbolic links to a library subset (folder) that Sonos then indexes. Your local library thereby only makes a library that complements what is available on streaming. This won't work for everyone like myself (e.g. live music libraries) but it will for studio albums. This could be set up to be done quarterly or monthly to limit overhead of all the q
I have a beam already connected to TV which works great but I would like to add a Play 5 (gen 1) in the same room as I can then plug in audio devices to Line in socket. What would be the best way to set this up. I would like the music from the line in to play through the beam as well as the Play 5 . Not too bothered if the TV does not come through Play 5 but a bonus if it does. Would the position of the two units be better facing each other across the room ? I have not bought the Play 5 yet and looking at Gen 1 because of cost. Any help here would be appreciated. Thanks
