Received my new Roku 2020 yesterday. Connected it to the HDMI 2 on my Sony Bravia XBR-55X900E along with my new Sonos Arc, Gen3 Sub and SL ones for surround and man is it awesome. Always have been an Apple guy but this takes the cake. Netflix and Amazon Prime sound great in Dolby Atmos.
Hi,I have a Sonos Amp wired to 4 ceiling speakers. I also have a TV installed in the same room as the wired ceiling speakers (AMP is in another electrical room) without the ability to attach an HDMI ARC to the amp. Is there technology, or a solution to link my TV into the AMP wirelessly to create my ceiling speakers as a sound output for the TV. (im thinking HDMI ARC wireless adapter) or something similar? Or would the ARC be needed to run the sound output and connect to the AMP to utilize the ceiling speakers for the TV?
I have had the Sonos amp for a few weeks in a living room setup and for the most part am enjoying it. The issue I am having is when watching 5.1 content through an apple tv 4k where I have media files we play back with infuse 6. On these files, they play fine but loud passages such as explosions, crashes etc are much much louder than they should be and dialogue is then very quiet relative to other sounds. Because some of the video content has DTS as the default audio format I have set the apple tv 4k to downmix to stereo. Anyone else have this issue?
Hi, am a bit confused about this one. Have got hold of a CR200 off a mate, but the touch screen isn't working. Am looking to get 30% discount on a Beam but clearly can't integrate the CR200 into my Sonos setup....is there another way of doing this, via the serial number perhaps?
I know this has come up multiple times but when searching in the forum, it doesn’t find the threads. Why is the SONOS app so awful? Honestly, it is the worst app I’ve ever used. Issues:Loading the app can take forever Playing a Sirius channel never works - it always says that channel is no longer available. I have to click another one, play it for a bit, then change to the one I want Some times it won’t play anythingI have spent a lot of money on all my SONOS equipment and I love the system. I am baffled by how awful the app is. Note: I had an android app and now back to apple and they are equally bad. The apple app might actually be worse.
Recently purchased and set up, Sonos Arc, Sub, One SL.All speakers work with Netflix, CD, DVD, music and film streaming and through my chosen radio station.I have Sky TV but NO SOUND works through any SKY program on one SL. Any ideas.
So I have my PS5 set to sound bar and dolby bitstream, but neither the 4k discs/streaming services apps such as appletv are showing the dolby symbol in the sonos app, when things are playing. My Series X is showing Dolby Atmos though with disc and streaming apps. Is it just not supported by PS5?
Hi, I have a Sonos playbar, Sonos Sub, and two Sonos One’s for rear surrounds. I would like to add a nice pair of floorstanding speakers (Monitor Audio Silver 500s) so I’m thinking about buying the amp. Does this still give me a 5.1 set-up. I’ve heard if I add the amp, then the playbar centre speaker doesnt work ?
Hi I have 2 Sonos 5 and I want to use them with my TV instead of buying a sound bar. Will the Sonos Port be the best option (more cost effective) to achieve this? Thanks
Hi there! I recently updated my two Play:1 speakers which required an update to the 12.2.23 version of the app. That’s all fine and I have created a Sonos account, added my own Spotify account and all has worked well.Where I am experiencing an issue is having my housemate’s Apple Music account added as a service so he can use the Sonos too. If I go to add it through my Sonos app, it requires Apple login details and I don’t use Apple Music as a service, and also, he wants to use his account which is where his playlists etc are kept. When he opens up the same app on his phone, Sonos has a login screen requiring him to sign into my Sonos account. There is no option for him to create his own Sonos account on this screen nor can we find a way to create one anywhere else through his app or even change the user logged in.The previous iteration of the Sonos app never required Sonos logins and so we have never experienced this issue. Previously we had both Spotify and Apple on the same system,
When I play music via Spotify I can go to the next song by double tapping the play/pause button of my Sonos. Is it possible to switch between radio stations somehow in the same way?I have added 4 radio stations to “My stations” and would like to be able to switch between them without getting my phone out.
Since I installed S2, I’ve seen a few issues on the iPhone app:Sometimes when navigating through menus, the app returns itself to the first navigation item forcing me to again navigate to the item I want. I cannot save TuneIn stations to my TuneIn favorites. The app allows me to select a new favorite, but the station never appears in the favorites. When I move the volume button along the slider, it does not have any effect on the volume, or the change is very slow.I’m hoping maybe someone else has seen similar issues and provide tips.
Can the Connect Amp drive only 2 pairs of architectural speakers ?Only with the new Amp can do 6 ? TIA
So I have Prime Video on my Firestick 4K, Roku Ultra - not the 2020 version, Chromecast built into my Sony Bravia. Jack Ryan always comes across as Dolby Atmos, on Fire Stick and Chromecast but other movies labeled Dolby Atmos don’t play in Atmos just Dolby Digital 5.1. Just wondering if it’s my system or is it just a fluke?
Hi there,I have just recently picked up a Sonos Arc and wondering, is there any way to connect it directly to Macbook Pro M1 directly with any type of cable to be able to get the Dolby Atmos on the speaker? MBP is capable of Atmos and so Netflix but I want to use it without TV, directly from Macbook. Is it possible?Thank you for the help,Gary
Hi,I have a rather long room, with a TV on one end. I want to use an Arc for TV sound, but I feel it would need some extra speakers at the rear of the room to boost volume at that end of the room. There are actually two ceiling speakers at the rear end I could use.I’m not that interested in Dolby Atmos or Surround, I just want clear sound from the TV from the Arc at the front and the ceiling at the back. How would I accomplish that? Something like this - Arc direct to TV, Amp powering the ceiling speakers and somehow combine them in the software? Thanks,Eric
I have created some playlists. I guess the content is from my Apple Music subscription (?) I have just cancelled with Apple and signed up with Spotify. Will my playlist just pull the playlist content from Spotify, or will I lose them once my Apple subscription ends? Thanks, Kate
HelloMy music library keeps disappearing hours/days after I’ve imported it, and having been able to play music from it. When I try to play something in my music library I get the “No selections are available” error message. The problem is the same using the Sonos S1 Controller on Mac (OS 11.1) and iPhone (iOS 14.3) app.I’ve submitted diagnostics: confirmation number 1533071357.I’ve tried deleting and adding the music folder in the Sonos controller to no avail. Thanks for any tips/suggestions.FB
I play record deck via a cartridge amp and Mac book through line in to Play 5 gen 2. I have tried to link a Cowon Plenue D via line in. But there is no sound. Can this work ?
Hi all,I recently bought a sonos arc with 2 sonons One as a home theatre. I love the sound, specially with music everything works well. Nonetheless, I have some issues with the quality of the sound when I use it for watching TV. There is a kind of crackling or sizzling when people speak. I don't have this issue with music but only voices when I see a movie ( or even worst, documentaries where the music is not loud) which is extremely frustrating given the general quality sound.I dont have eARC and plugged in the old fashioned way. Sonos is also far away ( as far as possible anyway) from other electronical devices. Could you help me solve this issue? I set the sound as only coming from sonos and not the tv Many thanks,Dimitri
I am torn what to buy. I am going to buy a Sonos system because I like the wireless option of it and Dolby Atmos. I have a medium size basement, my main priority for it is home theater for my 85 inch TV, but I also want it to be able to play good music the odd time. I want the best of the best. Do I go with the Arc, 2 subs, and 2 1's OR do I go with the Arc, 2 subs, and 2 fives? Home theater is the priority but music is important to me from time to time as well. What would you do and why? Will the fives take away from the home theater experience of it?
When a new song starts - it shows up on screen - in the right corner. Who do I turn that off?
Hi, I have a gen 2 play 5 and am considering buying a second speaker to make a stereo pair. The Play 5 doesn’t seem to be on sale anymore, so I am wondering if I could pair my existing speaker with the new 5? Thanks.
My Beam is mounted to a MantelMount 540 with a Sanus Beam Soundbar Mount. At low frequencies, the bass from the Beam rattles both the Sanus Mount and MantelMount. Has anyone experienced this before and has a solution? If I bought a Sonos Sub would I be able to turn off/down the bass from the Beam and just have it come from the Sub?
I have a Samsung NU6900 4k TV (2018), and an Apple TV 4k. I watch everything through the Apple TV (Apple TV+, Netflix, and Hulu) and I only use the Apple TV remote. Utilizing a Beam I just bought and a pair of rear symfonisk speakers. The only way to get Dolby 5.1 from the Apple TV 4k seems to be changing the audio out from Auto to Dolby 5.1At this point my TV recognizes the Dolby Signal and passes it through the HDMI Arc port to the Beam. I then get an uncorrectable lip sync issue. If I leave my Apple TV sound on AUTO, then I only get a 2.0 PCM stream to the beam. I check this via the TV and the About section in the app. I have tried every setting and the lip sync correction in the sonos app and my TV (which only goes one way). I have also updated my TV firmware to be safe. Its a budget 4k TV, so my guess it just can not compute fast enough.Since I am only using the Apply TV 4k (in full 4k) for viewing, I want to get a splitter or extractor. A splitter to split the HDMI to go
