I recently had to reset my Apple TV settings due to some issues I had. My Apple TV remote had always worked such that it would only control my Playbar, and not adjust my TV volume (important because disabling the TV speakers on my Panasonic plasma is not an option ). After resetting my Apple TV, for some reason the Apple TV remote automatically learned my TV, and now controls both the Playbar and TV volumes at the same time. Any attempts I’ve made to disable the TV volume control also disables my Playbar volume control from my Apple TV remote. What gives? Anyone have any clue on how to make my Apple TV remote “unlearn” my tv so that it only controls my Playbar?
Is it possible to buy two of the new Sonos Amps and run each as a mono block, one driving the left speaker and one driving the right speaker? This is exactly what I do with my current (non Sonos) configuration. I have a single digital preamp, I use a Sonos Connect for Sonos music streaming, then I drive two monoblock power amps one for each speaker. I would like to replace this configuration with the Sonos Amp but my small speakers in a very large room need a lot of driving.
Installed firestick yesterday in hdmi2 port, there is no audio. I have turned the dolby digital off like it said to do on this forum, still doesn't work. My television is about 7 years old, Vizio, and is connected to the beam with the optical cable. Also, the only way i can turn off the sound on the regular hdmi 1 setting is to turn the volume all the way down, as the sonos stays on even after i have powered my tv off. I sm guessing this is because of the cable box? I was hoping to get rid of cable and switch to just firetv but with no sound, i guess not. Can this be fixed? Do i need a smart tv?
I thought I had taken a higher quality system and now I find sonos speaker for sale in Ikea. disgusted ... I hope at least there are important differences compared to the speakers of the store sonos.
I’m looking at buying either the LGOLED55C8PLA or LGOLED55E8PLA to use with my existing Sonos surround system. I need to have the playbar sat in front of the screen on the same cabinet top. I’m worried about the bottom of the screen being obstructed by the playbar. Would be grateful for any guidance from anyone with this setup. Thanks
I wish I could select the audio output on the Play:5 to come out through its built in speakers or the headphone jack from the controller so I can keep my headphones plugged in. It would also be great to be able to have audio come through both at the same time!
I'm close to getting a new TV: The Sony X900F. Just wanted to make sure there were no surprises in terms of dolby pass through to the playbar. I have two older sony's, and both passed dolby thru no problem. There was no consideration/need for "ARC". Now, the specs for this new TV (per RTINGS.com) says, " 5.1 Passthrough Optical Dolby Digital: Yes" ...which I take to be a good thing. So I should be all set? But also, of the four HDMI ports, one of them is listed as "ARC". Would that mean I should be using that particular HDMI (arc) input INSTEAD of optical? Also, specs say: "5.1 Passthrough ARC Dolby Digital: Yes" Just a bit confused with my options and when/how/why I'd want that ARC input, versus (or in conjunction with) the optical. All to ensure I get dolby 5.1 without a problem. Many thanks for any help!!
I have recently purchased Sonos Beam and now my chromecast is dropping out when using different streaming apps (is Netflix and Kayo) when I disconnect beam from hdmi arc this stops the chromecast from dropping out. Sort of defeats the purpose of having the beam though lol. Any ideas???
Google Assistant is finally coming to the Sonos One and Sonos Beam It's a CES miracle. A lot of announcements have already come out of CES 2019, but without a doubt, this is one of the most exciting yet. At a press briefing on Tuesday, January 8, Google confirmed that it's finally bringing the Google Assistant over to the Sonos One and Sonos Beam. An exact date has yet to be revealed as to when the rollout will begin, but it looks like we've finally reached the finish line. If you don't have a One or Beam, Google says that "earlier speaker models" will also be updated with Assistant support, but right now it's unclear if all previous Sonos speakers will eventually get the Assistant or just a select few. https://m.androidcentral.com/google-assistant-finally-coming-sonos-one-and-sonos-beam
Have 2 play 1’s in surround format with a play bar. One of them has a constant crackling sound when music is played during movies/TV. Diagnostic code is 989235372.

I purchased a Sonos 5 to replace a dead Bose sound dock. First, I really like the sound quality of this product. Regretfully, I encountered a playback/song skipping issue that Sonos doesn't seem to have an answer for. During playback, at random times, Sonos skips to the next song. Sometimes a few seconds into a song. Sometimes a few minutes into a song. Incredibly annoying. I tried (tirelessly) to work with Sonos to resolve the issue, but to no avail. They say to call with any problems, but don't tell you that there is often an hour plus hold time. That leaves you with e-mail support with a different technician every time you get a response. Every time the issue was blamed on my wireless router, which works perfectly with EVERY OTHER DEVICE IN MY HOME (TVs, phones, laptops, iPods, doorbells, thermostats, etc.). They also say that this is an uncommon problem. Judging from the number of folks on this forum with the same issue, this is something they need to shine a light on a
Hi all, Any suggestions to over come my issue, I use a connect, and connect a dj-mixer on line-in to play the sound to my Sonos system. The problem is that the connect gives a quite big delay in the sound stream, that it not appreciated when being the house dj. And the delay increases when I start to group different zones. Any suggestions to minimize that delay ?? I can't understand the delay, due to when you have the playbar, sub and surround speakers, there is "no" delay (noticeable) in the sound stream from the TV (delay have not been adjusted in TV) . So obviously the equipment can handle it without that noticeable big delay... Caio! /B
Hello! I am hoping you can help! My husband and I have just purchased a new smart tv with sonos speakers. We have the play bar in the living room and a second speaker in the kitchen (we live in Manhattan - small space, open concept). The sound is great. However, I'm having a problem. I need to be able to hook up the wireless speakers to my computer. The one big function I need is for the speakers to be able to hook up to my laptop and play whatever I need played from my browser. There has GOT to be a way to do this very basic thing - using the wireless speakers as better/louder speakers for my laptop. I take a lot of classes online and need to be able to listen to my lectures while cooking dinner, etc. This is non-negotiable, and it's a very basic request so I don't know why I can't do it. The tech said it wasn't possible, but it MUST be. I looked for a browser to add to the app so that I could go through that way, but no dice. While I know that I can technically go online throug
I see at IFTTT.com that there is a Recipe to play a Favorite on certain days, certain time in a certain room at a certain volume. It works but I cannot change the Title of it so I’ve got several ALL with the same Title (for different Favorites). I tried to create my own recipe (so I can customize the Title) but I do not find the Volume ingredient. Any insight on getting advanced options? Thanks
Just got a home theater setup with playable, sub and 2 play 5s. If I don't want surround sound but instead want all Tv audio to come out all speakers, can that be done? if so will there be issues with sound being off sync between speakers or from source?
I am using my iPad to access the Sonos app. I am trying to listen to an album and the songs keep skipping to the next song before they are done??
Just got a ChromeBit for the home office, so I can browse to Facebook and other sites blocked by my work laptop, and not have to deal with its VPN, which doesn't let me cast to my home network. Found out quickly that casting to a CCA from a browser tab sounds like crap from just about any source. They must be using a VERY highly compressed, very low bitrate stream, it's choppy and full of artifacts. Not good. Found this Chrome extension called "Add To Sonos Queue". Enabled it, set the IP address to my left Sonos Play:1 in the Office. Navigated to SoundCloud, picked an album, hit the button, and it added the current album, all songs, to the Office Play:1s' playlist. The "Play" button in the browser wouldn't work, but I just asked the Office Echo Dot to "Play", and it started. Full fidelity, as the browser and ChromeBit are out of the picture, just Sonos directly from SoundCloud. Pretty slick.
I've been a Sonos user for 4 years, yet still the same issues recur. Once again I have the unable to add music folder \\Computer Name\Music with error 1002.. This was working great just a few days, now it doesn't. The Sonos account has full access permissions to the folder on my Windows 10 and there have been no Windows updates installed since Sonos was last working. To say this is infuriating is a gross understatement. Sonos has a great product, when it works but it it not reliable. I've restarted my laptop. my router and the Sonos, no change. Simple question which I can’t immediately see an answer to: does the Beam support HDMI 2.1? Thinking of potential advantages of eARC to rectify the temperamental nature of HDMI-ARC switching, when I upgrade the telly.
First, I've tried the workaround suggested in the article linked below. Seems that enables the IR of the Samsung One Connect Box, NOT the actual One Remote. My One Connect Box is in a cabinet out of range from the Playbar, so I need the actual One Remote to fire the IR to control the Playbar. Does anyone have a workaround here? Seems crazy there isn't a solution in place for this already. Thanks in advance. https://sonos.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4198/?_ga=2.7961908.746098816.1515511840-1340266789.1502466263
Just got the new Apple TV, and the possibility for apps are fantastic. I can see my TV moving towards a hone center. My question is, if anyone else feels the urge for a Sonos app for Apple TV? I would love one!
the sonos pc app stores your favourites alphabetically - how can you change the order to your own choice?
I have a play 3 that was on a surge protector, in the same room & never moved, was rarely used which is now not working. It has no power. I checked the power cord and it works on my other sonos speaker. I am disappointed because I was told by customer support that the only option is for me to pay close the purchase price for a replacement speaker because the product is out of warranty. I have 3 Sonos speakers and intended to outfit my next home with this Brand of speakers, because I liked the sound quality of my two play 1. At this point however, I am afraid to invest any more money in a product that has such a short lifespan and substandard costumer support for faulty products. Hopefully, Sonos will redeem themselves before losing more loyal and valued customers.
How often annually does Sonos update the applications? It seems that every time I turn on Sonos app (PC or Android), it is always wanting to do an update. This has become more and more frequent. Yes, I'm also aware of "auto update" which works if the PC is left on at night.
