Probably been asked before but does anyone know if it’s possible to connect the 2 so the image is projected via the projector and the sound via the Sonos Move
Hi, First ever post here. I am looking making my first Sonos purchase, I am looking at a Sonos Beam with 2 x One SL’s as a bundle. I can see that the usual price on the UK site is £757, but lately there has been a sale of £45 off this price which is good news. I am also an ex member of the UK armed forces and Sonos are a member of the Defence Discount Scheme which offers serving or ex military 15% off all purchases. I was trying to persuade the wife that I need this purchase and that I would get an extra 15% off which would bring it down to an excellent £607. I then logged in again the following day and saw an even better sale on these items on the Sonos website, this is now listed at a sale price of £637 giving a saving on the website of £120. I was about to make this purchase on the website and apply my military discount of 15% to this transaction, however, when applying this discount code of 15% off the price actually increases to £647!! How?? When the item was on sale at £45
So let’s say you want to play all songs of a particular artist without the pain of creating a playlist? In iTunes you simply search Apple Music for the artist and click on the red play button and boom - all songs play. You can also simply tell HomePod play X artist and again, it just plays some of their music. However, when you go into Sonos App and search for artist and then play, you get a playlist of like artists and songs no matter which music service you select (Apple Music, Amazon, Pandora, or Spotify). Or worse, you have to select one album at a time to listen. Is there an alternate way of doing this?
Hi, After 2-3 seconds my TV speakers automatically take over the output from my TV and not the Beam. If I alter the volume on the Sonos app it will turn on the Beam as the TV output but again only for a few seconds before reverting back. When the Beam isn't playing, it's not an option as audio output on the TV.
I have a new Sonos port connected to a Yamaha receiver . I also have this grouped with a play 3 . (For the record i have dozens of Sonos components never have had a problem) When i play a pandora station Thru the port , grouped with the play3 , its terribly out of sync . Ive tried all kinds of different combinations , no luck . (Different Sonos ones, switched out the port for a connect etc) The port is connected to the receiver using a digital cable . Works fine by itself , but won’t sync when grouped . Ive read other posts about this problem , but i haven’t seen any resolution . Anybody know how to fix this ? Isn’t this supposed to work ?
I was going to do an upgrade of the Legacy Amp that Sonos contacted me about several months ago. However, now when I look at the amp under my account it is suddenly listed as MODERN and not eligible for the upgrade. Anyone know what is going on? There are other Sonos customers complaining of the same issue on Facebook.
The number of related posts indicate that power unit failure is a common fault on Sonos products and that the only solution is to replace the component at a cost of 70% of the original price. I expect products that cost between $700 and $999 should last more than 3 years. In the last 2-3 years I have had this happen on a Play 3 and now a Sub. I see that others have fixed the problem themselves by changing a capacitor or reattaching loose wires, none of which would cost anywhere near the replacement fee, if an authorised repairer was available. Coincidentally I have not have any other problems, and for this reason have become suspicious that the frequency of power unit failures across these products could be an inbuilt defect designed to cause regular replacements to occur. Right or wrong I cannot justify the cost of repetitive expensive replacements for the sake of what may be the result of a loose wire or an inferior capacitor that could otherwise be fixed for less. Combined with the
Is it possible to connect two Amps through HDMI ARC? (1) 1st AMP front surround (2) 2nd AMP rear surround (3) Built in TV speakers as dedicated center channel (Sony TV built-in option) that works with a standard 5.1 AMP system. If the Sonos system is not capable, is it possible a third party amp could split the signals from the HDMI ARC and output to the two Sonos amps? Thanks!
So, it appears that Sonos has now dropped the ‘bricking’ on people’s old Sonos products as part of the recycle initiative which is great news…https://www.theverge.com/2020/3/5/21166777/sonos-ending-recycle-mode-trade-up-program-sustainability But not such good news for customers who’s devices are now bricked. A massive PR disaster. And wish I’d not been so loyal to Sonos now. Had their products for 10 years but after this won’t be buying any more.
Hello everyone - just been bought a beam - connected it all up to my Sony AG9 tv as directed - no sound coming from the tv at all beam sound all fine - any idea what I’ve done wrong here ?? much appreciated jamie
I have very low volume when playing e.g. you tube or NETFLIX through Line In. Any advice?
Is Sonos giving a discount to upgrade Play 1 Gen 1 to the newest Play One? I have 5 Play 1 Gen 1 speakers and would like to upgrade Thanks
Hi, I’m renovating my place and looking to install sonos in wall and in ceiling speakers throughout. This is the first time I’ve done this. I’ve attached a plan of what I’d like to do, looking for any tips, ideas or suggestions. Each different color goes to a different Sonos Amp. The brown lines in the Office and Living room would be where TVs go, each connected to a Play Bar (or Beam). The idea is that someone in the office should be able to watch something on the office TV, using the speakers in the office, while at the same time that someone in the living room is watching TV using the living room speakers in 5.1 surround sound (there will be an extra set of back speakers in the bedroom). The red speakers would be used to play music throughout the unit. All amps and play bars will be hardwired via Ethernet connection. Does this setup make sense? Any comments, suggestions, words of caution? Is there a major different between the play bar and the beam?
Hi all, just wanted to share what I learned from the support about Airplay 2 and Sonos groups. When trying to cast something to a Sonos One SL speaker using Airplay 2 (for instance from Apple Music) to a group defined in the Sonos app, Airplay 2 will not display the group, only individual speakers. Apparently this is working as designed which to me is a deficiency. Using the Sonos iOS app it is possible to cast to a group. It should be possible to do the same regardless of which app is being used. According to the support my request has been forwarded as a request for improvement. One can only hope this makes it into production in a not to far future.
Is there a difference in sound quality including EQ settings when using Sonos App vs Airplay 2? To me on my outdoor speakers playing through Sonos AMP I think that Airplay 2 does not use the EQ settings and does not sound quite as clear as Sonos App. I get some sounds that I don’t like using Airplay 2 that are either not there or not audible using Sonos App. I also have the Treble set down because my speakers are a little bright for my taste and I notice a difference between the two streaming methods. Is this true or just in my imagination?
Hi, Apologies if this has been asked elsewhere. I have a Now TV smart box that only gives me options of “auto” and “stereo” output. If I leave it as “auto” it detects that my (Samsung) TV can decode DTS and sends that. I am unable to force it to send Dolby Digital and I have to set my TV output to PCM (it’s that or DTS). So, I am either hoping that someone could let me know the best way of getting a DD 5.1 signal from the TV to put into my Beam when using this setup. DD 5.1 works fine on apps like Netflix/Amazon that are installed on the TV.
Over the past few weeks my Sonos system has gone from a reliable and highly valued medium of listening to music to podcasts to now an unstable system that has a new issue everyday. I’m not sure if this is due to a recent app update or update in the system itself but every day I am grappling with a new challenge. The past 2 weeks, most days are filled with an unwelcome banner at the top saying cannot connect to Sonos- Fix It. None of the troubleshooting steps offered work at all. I have not changed a single thing in my enviornment (same router, same ISP, no manipulation or additional IP addresses on the network, no new speakers, etc.). The only fix is to literally unplug every speaker and then go into settings and click add a device as if I just purchased another speaker. The past 3 days, I’m now running into an issue where I cannot play a song from either Apple Music or Spotify, then out of nowehere, a song will start playing a few minutes later. When I go into the sonos app t
I currently have two Play 5s (Gen 2) set up a stereo pair with a Sub. I use them for music as well as watching TV/Movies. All of the TV / Movies we watch is via the Apple TV, sending the audio to the Sonos system via AirPlay. It works perfectly, no audio sync issues at all. The only negative is having to re-select the output (Airplay to Sonos) every time we turn the Apple TV on, but that is hardly a big deal. In terms of performance, I feel that movies with a lot of music in them sound incredible. The Play 5s really shine. However, for movies with a lot of dialogue or movies with sound effects (think action movies), something is missing. The system doesn’t sound bad by any means, but for example dialogue could be more clear and sound effects could have more direction and impact. So I am wondering about buying a Beam, to be used with the Sub specifically for TV/Movies, and moving the Play 5 Stereo pair (without the sub) to the other side of the room as a dedicated music system.
With the release of 24bitrate streams becoming available on mass via Amazon music Ultra HD and Spotify and the rest to no doubt follow, is sonos planning to make versions of the speakers that actually support the streaming of high res audio? (Similar to Sony). I think they will be shooting themselves in the foot a bit if they don’t. Along with the news of hardware being considered legacy, There is no way I will be replacing my speakers with more sonos if there is no support for UHD going forward for when my speakers inevitably be classified as “legacy” (probably about 3-4 years from now with the play one and five). TL:DR - Is Sonos going to make speakers that support high resolution audio streams in the near future (next couple of years). Thanks All
Just bought sub woofer to match sound bar

I urge you to not buy anything from Sonos until they sort out their end of life procedures. I have spent well over £5000 pounds with them in the last four years. I was informed by email by them that two of my devices costing £800 would be obsolete in May and would no longer work with the rest of my devices. Stay away until and if they sort out their problems.
My Play:5 died 2.5 years in, due to a hardware failure as diagnosed by the Sonos team. I spent $500 on that speaker and the Sonos response was to offer me a "discounted" $350 replacement speaker ($850 for one speaker in 2.5 years). Instead of making it right and replacing the speaker, keeping me in the ecosystem, allowing me to continue to build my speaker set (I had full intentions of buying 3 additional speakers in the near future), and continuing to buy speakers as presents for family and friends, I now will spend a significant amount of effort relaying my story to my friends and family. Please believe me when I say that I will make sure that I discourage any contact of mine from buying into the Sonos ecosystem or purchasing a new product, and I hope this reaches anyone here as well. I can't begin to tell you how disappointed and frustrated I am with the non-resolution to this issue. I tried really hard to walk the reps through the reality of the situation and the company respons
I just got the email of a $50 price increase coming January 9th for Port and Amp….. this maybe the beginning of out-pricing their product. What’s everyone else’s thoughts on this?
I recently came across Ibroadcast and have to say it has solved all the problems I have had with music storage on my NAS server. I am now able to add album covers which also serve as artist covers. IBroadcast finds most of them for you. Having uploaded my entire library I will clean it up and download. However would rather it linked straight to Sonos. What i had intermittantly spent years doing has been completed in weeks. I also use Spotify but spotify does not suggest songs as good as IBroadcast.
