Is Sonos giving a discount to upgrade Play 1 Gen 1 to the newest Play One?
I have 5 Play 1 Gen 1 speakers and would like to upgrade

Not currently, no. The PLAY:1 has not yet been offered as a device to be ‘recycled’ or ‘upgraded’.
Why do you want to upgrade? If for voice control then an alternative is Echo Dots or Google Minis. Otherwise, although I would not advocate buying Play:1s now (e.g. off eBay), I’m not sure there is a great gain from upgrading at this point. Who knows what the options may be in 3 years from now, say? Interested to hear what others think.
Incidentally, the latest speaker is the Sonos One (and One SL). There is no Play One.
+22Everyone is correct - there is really no reason right now to upgrade from Play:1 to Sonos SL (really same speaker at this point). Sonos One adds voice control - but you would be better off at that point just buying a google mini or dot like John mentions.
