I wonder if there is any plan to make possible the use of Sonos Move for audioconferencing? Given that this speaker has also a microphone and a Bluetooth connection, it should be quite straightforward to offer this functionality, isn't it? As for me, I would find it useful to have my Sonos Move at the office and switch now and then in audio conference Mode when needed....
It seems like a missed opportunity not to have included a nice 10 band equaliser in the software.
We have the S2 app. Both my wife and I have our own YouTube playlists. But we can not share(or see) one another's playlist. How can this be arranged?
Sony Bravia XBR75900F, Arc (via HDMI to ARC), Sub (Gen 2), 2 x OneWatching “Dark” on Netflix, through FiOS One box. ATMOS is indicated on TV screen as being available.I am not seeing the ATMOS displayed.Suggestions/ reasons?
Considering buying the Arc to complement by 55” Samsung Frame but concerned with all the negative comments in the forums regarding issues with eARC and the OneConnect box. Seems to be a real lack of comment from Sonos customer service around resolving this issue with Samsung.
2020-12-10 12:29:13I am trying to add the Music folder on my DS720+ to my Sonos application and get error message that says "Sonos was unable to add the music folder". According to Sonos "To use a NAS drive with Sonos, the NAS must support the SMB(v1)/CIFS file-sharing protocol.".I cannot find anything on the 720+ that shows that particular file-sharing protocol.Help please.Hi, Sonos uses SMB 1. Please check that SMB1 is the Minimum file transfer protocol on your NAS. Go to Control Panel > File Services > SMB > click on the Advanced Settings button > then change the SMB protocol and hit Apply. ______________________________________________________________AWESOME! Great support – it works… I am running Windows 10. I will share your response with the Sonos community.Thank you!Bob Alford
Hi everyone looking for a bit of advice regarding the Line-In source level.iv’e recently purchased a project esprit turntable which I’ve linked to a Sonos Port.I play it through two paired Sonos 3 speakers.my question is what would you recommend I set the source level to ?I had it at 8 and found it quite distorted.I’m currently playing it at level four but noticed there’s a big difference in sound ?any advice would be much appreciated.steven
I’m unsure if I should jump from the playbar to the arc I’ve wanted it since it came out however I bought the playbar and 6 months later the arc was released. I’ve herd it, it’s insane! Anyone out there used the playbar who’s on the arc would you guys recommend making the change!? It’s just hard to justify the price plus I bought the FIVE so I could use my records so I’m wondering if it’s over kill or if I should go for it!
Hi, I connected my Arc to eARC sony tv KD-85X9000H.all devices are running with latest firmware and connect to Ethernet cables. The sound is cutting down frequently when I am watching from Netflix, Plex, OSN and YouTube. I have submitted diagnostic report # 1236538755 BR,Moayad
You keep doing updates for stupid little tweaks nobody Really cares about and screwing up our systems every time. Once again I just spent over an hour uninstalling and reinstalling your app, unplugging and replugging in all 6 of my speakers. Disabling Sonos in alexa, re-enabling Sonos. Searching for speakers in the Sonos app. Once again I have everything working. Next week you will tweak some other setting and there goes the whole system again. Wait until you actually have an update people care about.
I’m a little confused. I have an Apple 4K going into a TV that’s older than a few years. Will the Atmos sound from the TV be pushed through the TV via the eARC/eHDMI connection even though Atmos isn’t native to the TV itself?
Pre-orders available now! https://www.hdfury.com/product/4k-arcana-18gbps/ ***** FROM HD FURY SITE: No eARC TV ? No problem! And no more lip sync issues for eARC TV owners! WORLD’S FIRST eARC adapter that allows FULL AUDIO up to Dolby Atmos over Dolby TrueHD from ANY external HDMI source to ANY eARC sound system. Perfect solution for SONOS ARC/BOSE 500/BOSE 700 and ANY eARC or ARC AVR, soundbar or headphones. ***** I’ve been talking a lot about this in another thread, but now it’s ready to order. If you love your Arc but aren’t getting Atmos / TrueHD for whatever reason (no eARC TV, Apple TV doesn’t like HDMI-ARC, regular HDMI-ARC can’t pass TrueHD, etc.), Arcana is what you need. In a nutshell, it tricks your Sonos Arc into thinking it’s connected to an eARC TV giving you full access to all the audio formats your source(s) can output. I don’t work for them - I’m just excited to unlock the potential of my Sonos Arc and don’t want to buy another new TV anytime soon. They need 40
I have a couple of Play 1’s that are paired in my family room plus a single Play 1 in the bedroom. I’m looking for a little more robust sound for the family room. Currently there is a lack of rich bass. Am I better of going with a Play 5 or a Sub? Sometime along I would like to pair all of this with TV and CD music. Currently I have a non-Sonos soundbar and sub-woofer. What additional devices will I need?
Having had a Spotify Premium account for many years now and never been entirely happy that I was getting the most out of the speakers in my listening room I took advantage of the Tidal subscription offer and did a month’s trial of their HiFi subscription over Christmas. My initial findings are below and I’d be very interested if anyone else has carried out a similar exercise.Executive Summary:To save you reading all of the below, my conclusions and findings are as follows:Tidal HiFi > FLAC >> Spotify Premium but only on high-end set ups. Arcam’s 15 year old DACs are noticeably better than the DAC in Sonos’ Port Tidal & Sonos is unstable for large (greater than 3 Zone set ups)As a result of point three above, and the fact that it only offered an advantage in 1/8th of my set up I shall not be renewing my Tidal subscription as it does not offer (me) sufficient value for money.System:8 Sonos Zones on S2 consisting of: Play:1, 2x One SL (paired), One (2nd Gen), Play:3, Five, Mo
Have (2) moves that I love but would love even more if you guys can help. I pair them for stereo and have tried to play them via wifi / Sonus App and Airplay with the Movie from the MAC on wifi and it works but not in stereo / both speakers. It drops to one speaker only. Any help on how to make it work?
I am looking at purchasing the HDFury Arcana to split off lossless audio to the Sonos ARC but I wanted to first see if others have done this and noticed a signification improvement in the audio compared to Dolby DD+.My setup consists of a Sony 65” A8G, Sonos ARC + 2 One SL’s + 1 Sub Gen3All opinions appreciated.
S2 app should allow saving of multiple Trueplay tunings. One benefit for this is that you can easily go back to a previous Trueplay configuration if your latest Trueplay tuning made the sound worse for your Sonos setup. Also, with the reports that Trueplay gives different results depending on the iOS device you’ve used (e.g., https://www.reddit.com/r/sonos/comments/haxk68/sonos_arc_metallic_sound_sonos_community_please/fv7id97/), saved custom Trueplay profiles allow easy/swift comparison between two different tunings.
Problem: No surround or sub volume, speakers “not found” when adding to surround setup with Arc.Setup: Sonos Arc, Sub (gen 2) and Sonos One SL’s for 5.1 surround.Symptoms: Despite working for a day or two, we noticed there was no sound coming from surrounds nor the sub. Trueplay was saying speakers were missing and something about making sure they are powered on and in range. In another screen (I should have screenshot it, sorry!) I had a warning about there being a wifi repeater that some speakers were linked to but the app didn’t specify which and it wasn’t clear if that was having any effect. All the speakers were working when removed from the surround setup and used to play music so I knew it was a surround issue, not a connection issue.I removed the speakers from the setup one at a time but when I went to add the speakers back into the surround setup in the app it said they couldn’t be found even though they were clearly listed in the app independently and could play music indepe
My son recently downloaded the Sonos app to his new Android. Apparently, he was prompted to update the Play 1 speakers I bought last year. That rendered the controller on my iPhone 5 unusable. This happened to me once before, when he did the same thing on what was then his iPhone 5. That fubar’d the contoller on my Blackberry 10. So I bought a used Kindle Fire, on someone else’s advice, which turned out to be incompatible. A few months later, I inherited his old iPhone. I should have stopped him!
Looking to extend music playback into my backyard just for a few hours at a time. The seating area is approximately 50’ from the house, but the stereo playback equipment is on the opposite interior side.I have an existing hardwired whole house system, so ideally I would be able to just grab a line level output from my preamp and add something like Sonos Connect with a battery powered speaker option out in the yard? I’m guessing the stock broadcast distance is too much for Connect and I would also need the Boost? If the component requirements get too crazy, I’ll just rent a trencher and run conduit out w/ 12ga wire and pick up another amp.
HiI’m new in this comunity, and I joined before purchasing any Sonos product. If possible, could you please help me in choosing the best solution?I’m searching for a product that could give me the possibility to both listen to music from cd player and other devices, and also from itunes and apps; besides, I’d like to have some wireless speakers in other rooms apart from the one where the devices are placed. it is better a solution with One or Five speakers, or with the Port solution? In this last case, it is possible to associate to the Port some One speakers ot extend the signal to other rooms? With the Five is it possibile to connect a cd player or similar? How many speakers could be connected similtaneously? For a 30 mq room what is the best solution between a Five and a set of 2 One speakers?Additionally: the One and Five speakers could be associated also (and simultaneously) with a Beam soudbar to have an improved home theater effect? Thanks in advanceBest regardsNicola
So I’ve been having weird audio sync issues when using LPCM through Apple TV via my LG C9. The strange part is it’s only happening in some content. The movie Taken on iTunes is really bad however the movie Chef on iTunes is fine (both 1080p 5.1). The Muse Simulation Theory concert is also fine (4K 5.1). The movie sound city on Amazon Prime is absolutely atrocious. All these problems are rectified if set the Apple TV to output DD5.1 but then I lose atmos. the delay is inconsistent, some times small (Taken) some times massive (Sound City). it’s very strange. Anyone else having this kind of problem?
There have been several posts in the past on this forum asking for a Sonos controller for the Roku. Now there is one. This controller will let you control your Sonos equipment from your Roku using the Roku remote. It shows on-screen album art, song/artist/album information, room and player information, and volume controls. You can play from your Sonos music services, your music library, or from line-in.The app uses the Sonos API, so it is limited to what the API currently provides. As the Sonos API evolves, more features will become available. The API currently requires the source to be from your favorites, playlists, or line-in, so you will need to create favorites or playlists from your services or music library if you haven't already done so.The app will also respond to other Sonos controllers, so you can see the results of changes from other controllers on your screen as they happen.Following is a summary of the features of the Sonos Controller:S1 and S2 compatible. Virtually every time I access my S1 system on my PC it demands an update. A tedious process which can take a number of minutes. This is ridiculous. Surely it doesn’t need updating every 1 or 2 days?
