Era speaker won’t identify any songs from Services or library. Gustavo only replies. “Nothing is playing”. Doesn’t matter if I’m using the app or the S2 on the Mac. Anyone else have this issue and how did you resolve it? Not using Google or Alexa assistants
Hi. Curious if folks are using conduit and, if so, what type - e.g., PVC? I’ve seen mixed feedback when searching online. Thanks!
Does anybody have a recommendation for purchasing CD quality FLAC files? I’d like a legitimate site as I have no plans of pirating my music.ThxMarty
Three related requests. When selecting a recently played entry that is no longer valid Sonos offers to remove the associated Favorite, it would be good to also remove the recently played entry. As many recently played entries are useless, just a generic name that is of no help, or are something you want to avoid playing/being again a delete option would be good.As above since some entries have generic and useless names, allow us to rename them something useful. I don't need multiple "Top Songs" entries with no clue as to who's top songs shown.
Hello all, After some advice regarding my current setup, and potential upgrades. The system is in my pizzeria - simple setup, a pair of OneSL’s with Sub, and a Five in a seperate room. I stream music from my macbook air all day long, works great.I’m looking to add a TV. Would like to be able to airplay video/audio from my macbook to the TV, and obviously have the Sonos system take care of the audio. Was thinking of adding an ARC Ultra to the setup.Just wanting to make sure this is technically feasible before purchasing. Thanks! Larry
Hello - I just bought my first Sonos speaker (Era 100) and was going to use it as my alexa mic. For some reason - I ONLY see Sonos voice assist as an option when picking voice assist. I’ve linked and relinked the alexa app and tried pretty much everything suggested. Can I even use the Era 100 with Alexa voice assistant? I will be returning this speaker if not.
When using connected apps or services the time length of songs/tracks is not shown. Am I missing a toggle in settings to display this or can I make a request to have this information added to UI? Thank you!
Dear all Just ordered four Era 100 devices and quickly detected the issue, that the Alexa voice is compared to played music way too loud. I don’t see any option to reduce specifically Alexa voice, also reading of a bunch of issues in this forum - but mostly years ago and seemed to be fixed. Any idea how to fix this? Otherwise need to return the order. Much appreciated,Marco
HiThe new app gives up too easily looking for the Sonos system on the WiFi and then does not seem to clear the cache or local memory and do some sort of reattempt. The problem is you get scary suggested actions like upgrading the speakers and creating a new system. I know these are incorrect suggestions because if I 'force stop' the android app and try again it ultimately works ... not always after the first retry.Sonos mesh network used to be bullet proof in terms of reliability. I understand the security was not.
I cannot express in enough words what an absolute piece of garbage system this is with this garbage app. Never have I spent such wasted money on garbage and frustration.
Hello, I am currently facing a challenge in the interplay of MPD’s (Music Player Daemon) audio output as a http stream in my local network and the sonos interface (currently I use tuneIN to listen to a specific (local!) http address, namely the one I set in my MPD config). I successfully got an mp3 Stream up and running with maximal bitrate of 320kHz, using the following mpd config:audio_output { type "httpd" name "mp3audio" encoder "lame" port "8000" bitrate "320" format "44100:16:2"} I now wish to replicate this for flac, but simply settingaudio_output { type "httpd" name "Lossless HTTP Stream" encoder "flac" # or "wav" for uncompressed WAV compression "0" port "8001" # choose a port format "44100:16:2" # 44.1 kHz, 16-bit, 2 channels (stereo)}seems to not yield the expected result, as no audio is played back at all by the system. Can you play a samsung TV audio thru Sonace outdoor speakers wirelessly if using sonos AMP?
My Sonos audio was skipping every few seconds so I reviewed all the blogs and tried to solve without success. I went into the Samsung TV expert settings and solved the audio skipping by shutting off HDMI eArc Mode (see pic below).
Trying to determine the best place for some rears. I currently have the Arc Ultra plus a sub. Awkward room, I know. Was thinking of placing them on that soffet behind the sofa and running power cables down to the outlets at each corner. I’d rather not have anything on the walls however I have a feeling that’s the recommendation I’ll hear back. Appreciate the guidance in advance.
The new system update included this:Authentication: This setting applies to third-party integrations that use Sonos cloud services and Local Area Network (LAN) APIs. When enabled, it requires those integrations to authenticate before connecting. Can someone please point me to any documentation for the aforementioned LAN APIs? developer.sonos.com covers SMAPI and the cloud API, but no mention of this LAN API.
Hello. I have a question: The new sonos amp, that is 125 watt per channel (for the wired ones), is it RMS or peak? I did not buy the sonos amp yet. But I am planning to buy it soon. I will need to buy wired speakers for it too. But if it is RMS or peak the 125 watt power, actually there is a difference: of what kind of speekers I need to buy. And I explain: The peak power is the 1/3 of the RMS power. That means the 125 watt per channel, if it is peak, it is actually 40 watt RMS per channel. That means I need to buy different set of speekers if it is actually 40 watt RMS or 125 watt RMS. Because if I buy speakers for amps that are actually 125 watt RMS, and the amp power is only 40 watt RMS, the amp will not be able to handle the speakers correctly, when you put the volume a little bit higher. This is why actually it matters the spec of the power of watts per channel,

Wanted to add another request to add the ability to use a pair of Sonos roams as surround speakers for Sonos beam gen 2 or any other bar.I think all Sonos owners who use this feature would be capable of enabling / disabling the feature manually without any software changes.I have seen suggested elsewhere that a good option could be the roams could enter surround mode when placed on charge if that is desired.
I’ve been putting this off since the dreaded upgrade that got rid of my TimeCapsule on Sonos, Ive only been streaming since. I would like to access my local music library again. What are my best options?NAS, if so a good value one; music files are less than 2TBor USB into router - I am planning an upgrade on my broadband so will be flexible with provider that gives best router compatible with a USB/Sonos situation. If this is a good option, advice on a good USB drive/stick. Thanks
Good morning. Have a couple questions on placement in my new apartment and my speaker choices. I was recently blessed to have been gifted four era 300 to me by my employer. (I know. Lucky me!). Anyway, I’d like to use these as music and theater set up. I was originally gonna put that two in the living room and then one each space throughout possibly the bedrooms? Reading through some posts on this forum I’m getting kind of confused. I’m even thinking of selling twoof the era 300s that I have and getting either a beam two and a sub, or just an arc sound bar. Any insight or help I’d appreciate it thanks guys. Or if there are any other articles in the community to point me in the direction that would be great. I will send you a picture of my layout of my apartment. I have 2 of the Era 300’s set up in my living room currently and they sound unreal!!
Hi Sonos Crew -I need some advice/help..? I recently purchased 2 Wet Sounds VS-8 outdoor wall speakers for my backyard. I have them powered by a Sonos Amp from inside my house. They are incredibly clear and loud. Bass is pretty good, but I feel like they are overpowered but the horn loaded compression driver. Still the best outdoor speakers I’ve owned. So these face our pool area from the back of our house. My issue is with the next set up. I plan to install 3 Wet Sounds VS-6 in some large planter boxes we have surrounding our pool. This will be powered by a 2nd Sonos amp for pool area (so not the same amp that connects to outdoor wall VS-8 speakers). I will also have at least 1 of the 12 inch Wet Sounds outdoor subs buried in 1 of the planter boxes. Currently I have one VS-6 and one sub set up for a test trial. I feel like the sub just isn’t getting enough juice to really make it thump. I’m thinking of buying another a 3rd Sonos Amp just to power the sub. As of now I have a
Mixcloud playlist are finally back!!!!!!
Hi everyone,I have 5 pairs of Sonos in-ceiling/in-wall speakers, each connected to its own Sonos Amp. I’m exploring the best way to create a high-quality surround sound experience in a single room.I’m happy to add one or two Sonos Gen 3 Subs to enhance the setup, and I’m also open to adding one or two Sonos Fives if that helps achieve a better 3D or spatial audio feel. Ideally, I’d like to avoid using a soundbar if possible.A few specific questions: Can I use more than two pairs of in-ceiling/in-wall speakers in one room as part of a true surround setup? I’ve read about 4.1 or 4.2 configurations using one pair as front L/R and another as surround L/R — but could I push this further? For example, could I use three pairs as front L/R and two pairs as surrounds? Is Sonos planning to support richer surround configurations in the future? Is this a limitation due to technical reasons, or more of a product/marketing strategy to encourage soundbar and Era speaker sales? Lastly, would it
As the following topic is closed, I’m reopening it here In February 27, 2025, this lady asked Panos Panay (VP of Amazon’s Devices & Services department), about it and he answered: Will Alexa+ come to my Sonos? That is the plan. That is the plan. I mean, Sonos is in a little bit of a transition of course, but yeah, they're a great partner of ours.
I have an Arc paired with a sub and 2 Sonos 1’s, however can I add 2 additional Play 1’s (for a total of 4 surround)?
