Since I purchased two IKEA symfonisk devices, I have not been able to set the volume of my Sonos Beam Gen 2 correctly. When I had only the Beam, I was able to control the volume in increments of 1, from 0 to X. Now I can only set the volume of the Beam in increments of 5, for example if I manually move the slider in the Sonos Iphone app to 12 it will set itself back down to 10 a second later. If I try 14 it rounds up to 15 and so on - it also does this when using my TV remote 😤This issue occurs when the Beam is playing ungrouped, it doesn’t seem right that I am suffering a significant decline in functionality just because I have two other Sonos devices elsewhere in my place 🙄Any help woud be much appreciated as this issue is extremely irritating!😖
Hi, apologies if I have missed it but I cannot see my exact question. I have today got a Sonos Beam 2nd Gen and have connected it to my Philips Android TV. It connects great and I get true Dolby Atmos sound when that is the only HDMI cable connected. the moment I connect any other HDMI cables to the TV (i.e. blu ray player) the sound switches back to the TV speakers. Has anyone else had this problem and can they advise me how to resolve it?Thanks
Apple TV HDMI Output -> TV HDMI in TV HDMI ARC → Sonos HDMI/ARC inThe issue/question has to do with the “default” Apple TV audio output mode and what it means exactly. The default setup works fine, the Apple TV remote will control volume via the TV and the Sonos. In this “mode” the Apple TV Output detects and sets the default output to “TV Speakers”. What you lose with this setup is that when you put the volume up and down you dont see the little white volume up/down on the screen that Apple TV will show you when it is controlling the volume. An anomoly/bug is that if you leave it muted for too long then the mute command on the apple tv remote wont unmute it and you have to use the app. Now…The Apple TV does see the sonos device, you can go to audio output on the apple device and you will see: Default Device : Receiver Speakers Temporary Audio Output (Which you can manually set) : Sees Receiver Speakers & Sonos Amp these are two distinct selections. If you manualy disabl
My tv is a Samsung QN85QN90AAFXZA. It’s less than a year old and has eArc. Hooked up the Arc and 4K AppleTV but don’t get Dolby Atmos showing during playback in the Sonos app… It reads “Multichannel PCM 5.1”Known issue? User error?Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks!
Have just set up my new Samsung QN90B TV. My Sonos Arc is connected via HDMI eArc. I have opened a Netflix stream with Dolby Atmos through the TV native app. On the Sonos app it is only showing a Dolby Multichannel PCM 5.1. I am not 100% sure but I'm sure that this doesn't have Atmos signal.Any idea how I can tweak settings/etc. to receive Dolby Atmos signal. Cheers
I updated my iPhone and Apple TV to iOS 16 and tvOS 16 yesterday. Since then, I can no longer control the volume of my Sonos ARC via my iPhone (with the built-in Apple TV control). Until yesterday I could do that without any problems. I’ve changed nothing other than updating those two OS.Seems like several people on Reddit are having this problem. Is there anyone here where the volume control still works after updating to iOS/tvOS 16?
Out of the blue, the sound from the LG OLED CX TV no longer gets played on the Arc.I tried: unplugging the TV, the Arc, and the FireTV, and replugging them.I also tried: enabling/disabling the eArc config in the TV settings and noticed that for a split second while I am doing that the sound plays and then stops.I tried connecting a laptop instead of the fireTV, no audio came out of the speakers at all.I tried different streaming services (Youtube, Netflix, Prime, etc.), the audio didn’t work for any of them.I tried playing music on the Arc via the Sonos app and Spotify, and that works. The issue started yesterday (Nov 19, 2022) - I’m wondering if there’s some new version of the software that got pushed to the speakers. My TV is offline (I block all internet traffic to/from it), so I’m pretty sure the software running on it did not get updated.I’m stumped. Anybody else is having a similar issue? Hi My Sonos ARC has recently started losing connection to my LG TV every time I turn off/on the tv. (LG 65NANO886) To reconnect i have to redo the complete setup process to obtain again sound from HDMI ARC. Already have the last software update, but still have the same issues. I have run a diagnostic which is 1479387262. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
When I connected the subwoofer to my playbar the playbar sounds bad. Thin and just worse. I guess it is because it is no longer playing bass. And at most places in the room is sounds better without the sub. The bass response is obviusly better were the playbar is placed on the wall Someway you can have it still playing bass? Otherwise my worst buy ever. Paying to make sound worse 😂
So I have a Samsung NU8000/8070. It has had a Samsung firmware update so effectively has eARC sound options are Dolby digital and Dolby digital plus. Sky Q will play in Atmos (confirmed via Sonos app) when the Q box is set to DD+ and the tv sound is set to DD+. But on Netflix, nothing play in Atmos, says it is playing in DD+ 5.1, the tv is still set to DD+ so I am not sure why it won’t play in Atmos, I have nextfkix premium, so I have access to Dolby Atmos, everything shows as 5.1 on the Netflix main menu and doesn’t change in film. Any ideas?
Paired my Virgin TV remote to the Arc no problem! - then I thought I could do my appleTV remote (silver one with side button 4k Apple TV)it recognised the button presses all good - but then then virgin remote stopped working?! can’t I have two?!?? i tried 4 times and gave up??
Took my BEAM from another room to “re-create” a TV surround. STILL showing my BEAM in old room with TV surround set up, etc even though I’ve removed the BEAM and unplugged the ONE’s I had. So...1) How do I make the “OLD” room disappear since it has nothing and my “NEW” room show my BEAM and allow me to create TV surround. Over.
I looked around Sonos help articles but still not sure regarding network setup for 2 Sonos Amps with surround so asking the community here. I have the following setup: Family theatreArc - connected via ethernetSub - wireless2x Surround Ones - wireless BackyardAmp powering 2 external speakers - wirelessPassive sub powered by dedicated amp connected to Amp I'm looking to add another Amp to the backyard powering 2 more external speakers for surround sound. Can the 2nd Amp remain wireless along with the existing Amp or does the Amp powering the current front speakers need to be wired using ethernet before I can add the 2nd Amp? Appreciate any feedback here!
Hi Forum!! Need again help to fix the connections between my LG TV and the ARC, since every time I turn off/onn the tv the connections is lost and have to redo the setup process to gain sound via HDMI ARC. (LG 65NANO886) Already have the last software update, but still have the same issues. I have run a diagnostic which is 11742033711. (The CEC features are off for the blu-ray but the problem still happens)
Suddenly I noticed a distorted crackling sound when watching TV and listening to music with deep bass.I have tried factory reset and did a new Trueplay configuration. The problem is still there. You think it is a problem with the bass speaker itself?Any ideas? I guess my warranty has expired.Help!
Got home yesterday and I noticed that my arc’s light was cycling a flashing green light then it would go to a flashing white light after. I went on the app and noticed it was no longer connected to my network. when i try to factory reset it does not go through the normal cycle of white to orange to green while holding the button on the back.Only when I let go of the button does it go straight to green. Ive tried multiple different things like leaving it unplugged, attaching an Ethernet cable and nothing seems to work. i feel like my last hope is to call Sonos on monday. Also when i try to connect the sonos with my network through that app the sonos app crashes.and yes i have tried uninstalling the app many timesI have tried two different iphones as well and they both crash the sonos appi would appreciate any help
Had a firmware update tonight for my TV set. Once it was over, my Sonos had an ‘echo’ effect. After investigating for several minutes, I was finally able to figure out that the firmware update for the TV had changed the settings for the TV’s speakers from ‘Off’ to ‘Auto’. Once I turned the TV’s speakers back off, everything was back to normal. In the past, before the release of S2, I’d had Western Digital change my SMB settings on my network drive, also without giving me any notification. Just to warn everyone…not everything that is audio related is necessarily Sonos related.
Recently bought a beam and SONOS sub mini. Unboxed and went to connect to my Girlfriends TV only to realize its a cheap TV and does not offer optical out, only RCA and SPDIF via coax.Has anyone successfully obtained an audio converter for any sonos sound bars, to convert either the RCA or Coax out, into a converter then Optical out using the SONOS supplied optical to HDMI adaptor into the beam?Trying to get an idea, whether using this would work? Or using a HDMI switch with an optical output. This would then mean audio out only for HDMI devices. I am in Australia where we get free to air TV so i would not get Audio out of the Beam for this as this is connected via Coax from Aerial. Thats fine as i really only want audio for movies which will be comes from an external device. Thanks.
I've just upgraded to the Arc today thanks to the Black Friday deal from the Beam Gen 1 (also have Sub Gen 3 and 2x SL One surrounds) and this Arc sounds terrible! It's thin and somewhat quiet, my surrounds seem massively louder than the arc (I've had to turn them down from +4 to -7 just to balance them) and there's just no punch! My beam Gen 1 seemed much better I'm at such a loss I don't know what to do next. I'm hoping it's just a terrible update as I've swapped between 4.18 and 4.19 I've done the usual retune and this thing is terrible. I'd plug my Beam back in but I've already mounted the new bar and plugged and painted the old screw holes... I guess my next move is to factory reset everything, has that ever worked for anyone? I'm all ears if anyone has any advice?...
