Hi,

Is there a digital optical (SPDIF) input in order to connect an external streamer/DAC to the new ARC Ultra, busides the HDMI eARC ?

In the specs it is not listed, and the pics so far are not detailed enough.

Many thanks !

Using the Sonos Optical Audio Adapter that came with the original Arc, I am getting sound on the Arc Ultra.

HDMI from Arc Ultra connected to Sonos adapter and Optical connected to Optical Out on Fiio BTA30 Pro, being fed by WiiM Pro Plus

No, there is only the HDMI eARC input and an ethernet port.

Yes, these are the physical connectors. But Bluetooth with Arc Ultra is new as an input on the home theater devices.
Sadly there still isn’t a second cable input… neither digital nor analogue.

Thanks for your reply, first of all.

But sadly, as you said, the lack of a second digital input (other than HDMI) forces me to look elsewhere for a different solution. Such a shame...

I would assume that would work with Arc Ultra, although the compatibility has not been updated on the product’s page.

Thanks...something to think about indeed before spending a grand over such a device...

I was surprised that Sonos doesn’t put the adapter any longer to every hdmi eARC soundbar. So Arc Ultra imo probably will still support the adapter but you have to buy it separately.

I totally agree with you, but my main fear is not the extra adapter to buy but the fact that it won't work once I buy it...I'd have to rush to return the soundbar immediately, a bit of a hassle 🙄

I‘m sure @Corry P or someone else from Sonos staff can clarify that over here.

@Mr. T

So as expected… thx for testing and confirming. 😎

I know that it would be a convenience for a relatively few ARC ULTRA purchasers with old TV’s if the adapter was included, but tens (hundreds?) of thousands of adapters would ultimately end up in land fills, never having been used.

Many thanks to both @Mr. T and @Schlumpf !!

I guess I'll have to reach my wallet and give it a try then 😅
