Sometimes when I power on my LG TV (UM8070PUA) no sound will come through my Sonos arc speaker. It does t happen every time when I turn my tv on, but when I does happen, I have to unplug it and try to rest everything, (annoying).
this has happened since I bought this speaker a few years ago. It’s annoying, does anyone know why this keeps happening and how do I fix it?!?

Hi @TJSowden33

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

Sorry to hear of this intermittent issue you see with TV audio not working every time that you turn on your TV.

It sounds suspiciously like you might have another HDMI device connecting to your TV that could be causing an HDMI-CEC conflict (HDMI-CEC allows devices to describe themselves to the TV, among other tasks).

To test this theory, please unplug your TV from power, then disconnect any other HDMI devices from it. When turning the TV on, do you now get TV audio through the Arc, and reliably? If so, please repeat, but add one HDMI device back to the TV with each test until you find the device causing the issue, and look to disable any HDMI-CEC functions in it’s settings, if possible (these generally relate to turning the TV on/off with the device and switching inputs automatically). If you find a problem device that does not have any such settings, adding a CEC-less Adaptor between it and the TV should help.

This is all supposition, however - really, I recommend you get in touch with our technical support team who have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your Sonos system and what it reports - they will be able to confirm such a conflict, and may even be able to tell you which device is the issue.

Before getting in touch, however, I do recommend that you unplug your TV from power for at least a couple of minutes - it’s not something that people remember to try, and can often fix such issues.

I hope this helps.
