Hi I’m thinking of upgrading from a beam to an arc for my tv surround system along with the 2 ones and sub I already have.My question is can I use the beam as a speaker for radio and music in another room or is it only for use as a soundbar ,if so I presume I have to unpair it from the lounge and set up in a different room Thanks in advance Phil

After about an hour there’s no audio and the only way to get it back is to power cycle the arc. Im trying with just the arc.  Sun and surrounds disconnected from room

Tagging @Corry P for visibility.There are countless, well-documented threads all over these and other forums outlining issues with the LPCM implementation on both of Sonos’ eARC capable devices (Beam Gen 2 and Arc). The heavy hitters continue to be the incredibly low-volume, as well as popping and crackling when sound starts and stops. These are issues for a significant market share of folks (Apple TV users, PS5 users, Xbox users, etc.), and even more importantly, this is a feature that was released over 1.5 years ago. It would be really encouraging to know that these things are actually being considered/investigated.Generally, we all really love Sonos and want to stick with it, but it’s becoming harder to do that when core issues (sound quality and performance) seem to take a back seat to more superfluous things (i.e. a voice assistant). Sonos Arc Height effects…After 4 months of intense movie watching on my Sonos Arc, table mounted, 2.5m flat roof, sat 6feet away, here are the movie scenes I found to be most impressive. Please add yours in the comments so I can watch them too 😀These are in order of ‘best to worst’ in my opinion (based on height, not overall atmos’1. The Force Awakens - the scene where Finn meets Rey for the first time, and the Thai fighters are flying over them and shooting down. THEN MY FAV…About 2/3 way through the movie, the storm troopers have surrounded Han Solo and chewy, then the X wings fly in for about 5 mins. Hi. I'm hoping you can help with a question. I have a LG Nanocell TV with a magic remote serial number akb75855501.I'm thinking about getting the new Ray soundbar. Will the remote work with the Ray? I can't work out if it is IR as well as wireless.Thanks very much.

I have an Arc for the front of the theatre with a sub woofer.I also have a pair of in ceiling architectural speakers in the rear ceiling. These are also sort of in the kitchen area as the room isn’t that large.The pair of rears are connected to an amp so i can have the full 5.1 but i was wondering if i wanted the rear pair to just play music as a zone of audio like the rest of the house is it easy to switch between the rears being music zone only to then be a part of the 5.1I didn’t think i needed to buy a second amp for one pair but maybe in the Sonos app / settings it’s just switching there? 

Does plugging into Ethernet degrade audio performance of ATMOS or other content in any way or can it only help with bandwidth for streamed audio content? My understanding is... as long as optical adapters to port audio into the arc are not used, and the eARC from the tv is used via a quality HDMI cable, it will have the bandwidth to carry the Atmos content from the tv to the arc. (Obviously the quality into the tv also matters.) Basically don't try to use optical period. If I have hard wired ethernet, plugging ethernet is better than wifi. I have hard-wired ethernet to the Arc, and I use the hdmi over eArc from the tv to the Arc. I was hoping someone can confirm this is optimal? Also, for sonos sub, and/or one sl's ....plug the ethernet directly in or let the built-in wifi from the Arc push this to those speakers? Which is more efficient/better/etc.? Wondering if there are tradeoffs to consider. I appreciate any insight any Sonos engineers might be able to provide.  Thanks in advance!

I thought I posted this, but it disappeared. If it is double posted, my apologies.I just started getting where I lose audio out of my Sub linked to the Arc. I noticed that if I toggle the Sub from "On" to "Off" in the Sonos app, I get the audio back. Recovering the Arc and Sub fix the issue, but eventually it returns. Is anyone else experiencing this or am I doing something. I know this sounds odd, but it is definitely happening is it has occurred a few times in the past few days. I use an Arc as my TV sound system, but fairly often when playing games I’ll play a podcast over the Sonos system using either PocketCasts or AirPlay. There’s a problem where the Arc’s “Autoplay TV” setting is too aggressive, especially when playing games. Sometimes just going in to a menu in game will cause the Arc to switch from my podcast to the game audio.  Is there any way of having Sonos only switch to TV audio when there isn’t any other media playing?

Good morning, I had a problem this weekend with my tv updating. No volume indicator on screen. Restarted system and that was corrected. Now the Sonos beam sounds hollow and the volume is still high even when the volume is turned down to zero. Any suggestions? Thanks

If I send the Sonos beam (gen 2) a 5.1 signal without any Dolby at most content, will all of the speakers in the Beam still be used? Or will a couple of the speakers go to waste because of the lack of Dolby Atmos information being sent to them?

Hi everyone,I’m planning on setting up a home theater using an UST projector (LG HU85LS).The projector does have HDMI-ARC, so I was thinking on getting the Arc for LCR and bonding a couple of Ones for the rear sorround.I have a couple of questions though:1 - An ultra short-throw projector looks great and nite in a cedenza, so I struggle to undetstand where I’d place a soundbar. In front of it? I sure didn’t want to mount it on the wall. Anybody with sound system connected to a UST projector? Where do you place your soundbar? Is there an alternative to it?2 - I’d place the One’s on the back of the couch, which is in front of the dining table. Will I listen the news from the there as well? Or will basic cable channel stereo audio be output through the soundbar only?Thanks,

So I got a LG 55UM7450PLA TV with an HDMI ARC-outlet. However, the TV does not support Dolby Atmos accoring to its specifications. I also own a PS5 which do support Dolby Atmos.  Can I somehow get Dolby Atmos from my Sonos Arc or am I doomed to having to buy a new TV?

Hi everyone, I'm planning on setting up a sonos-based 5.1 home theater on my new home, but first of all it's like to understand if the projector I want to get does properly support Dolby Atmos, TrueHD, etc.The projector in question is the LG HU85LS (I think it's an Europe-branded version of the HU85LA).LG's website seems unclear on whether eARC is supported or not. Could someone help me decipher this table from the manual?Is eARC supported or not? What are the constraints? All I want to understand is if I can simply connect it to a Sonos Arc and have the best audio from streaming services and such.Thanks a bunch guys!

I just got my new Arc and Dolby Atmos sounds amazing, but I noticed that all other Dolby formats show up as “PCM 5.1” when using my Apple TV 4K.  Switching the formatting back to Dolby solves this issue, but means I’m having to constantly tinker with the Settings to get the right Dolby surround for the right movie/TV Show.  Has anyone else had this issue and is there a better solution?  Is Apple aware of this issue?  (Everything, including my Apple TV app on the Sony TV works flawlessly in switching formats, so this is an Apple TV 4K issue only.) 

Hi I have Sonos AMP, 2 wired sonos celing spicers, sonos soundbar Beam Gen2 and sonos sub Gen3. Can I link them and use as surround ? 

I am having intermittent connection issues with my Sonos Arc.  It has been connected to my LG CX for around 2 years now, and I had zero issues until around 1-2 months ago.  And it seems to be getting worse by the day.  The surround sound speakers and subwoofer keep disconnecting on their own.  And sometimes, even the Arc itself goes completely mute.  I check in the Sonos App and everything is still technically connected just fine.  So it’s not an App issue or me needing an Amp.  When I unplug the Arc and plug it back in, that usually works.  However, within an hour or so of watching tv it goes out again.  Can someone help me please?!  I imagine there is an issue with one of the latest software updates from the LG, Sonos, or AppleTV 4K.  However, I have no idea which item(s) is causing the issue.   This is extremely frustrating when I’ve paid over $5k to have a fantastic home entertainment experience!!!

Hello everyone,I picked up an HD Fury Arcana and decided to try out Dolby ATMOS with my Beam Gen2.  I’ve connected per instructions and recommended HD Fury cables (Apple TV out to Arcana in, Arcana eArc out to Beam Gen2).  When I view out ATMOS enabled content i.e. Avengers Endgame, Shang-Chi, Sonos S2 is showing airplay and ATMOS?!  In Apple TV settings, it is showing ATMOS available for audio output, so I am wondering if something is amiss here since there is a lot of discussion about airplay not transmitting ATMOS signal?  Appreciate any feedback on this, and to be honest I’m not clear why S2 is showing airplay at all given the wired connections.Thank you very much,Tim

Can you add the ceiling speakers to the ARC, Sub and 2x One SL's? Been all over YouTube and Google search, but can't find anything solid. Tried to get the Atmos effect to the fullest. 

Hello, I’ve had my arc and sub gen 2 and two play one sl for a while now probably at least a year and I’ve had the same arc issues as everyone else, but it’s been pretty much problem free for the past 6-8 months. But recently a few days ago my sound will just cut out while watching something, I’ll try to switch inputs and do other light troubleshooting to no avail and then the sound will come back on in like 10 minutes. It’s happened watching Hulu at first then watching Apple TV+. This is through an Apple TV 4K. Not the latest one but the one before that. But when the sound cuts out I can still play music through my system via the app. But I played the music and then stopped it and tried to play the tv and the app didn’t immediately switch back to showing tv as the input. I also have an lg cx and I tried to play content directly through the tvs os instead of the Apple TV and there was still no sound. It’s been happening about once a day lately. Any suggestions are appreciated

I bought a New Samsung TV and Sonos ARC Soundbar last week:  Samsung TV Model QE65Q95TATXXU Software Version : 1115.5 Connected Sonos Arc to the eARC port 3 on the TV and the Arc only delivers any sound when the eARC is switched off (no Sound on Automatic). The Sound output on the TV is only recognising the ARC as connected to HDMI when it should recognise it as connected to the eARC HDMI port. The Dolby ATMOS compatibility button makes no difference when on or off. Pass through setting makes no difference. Dolby Atmos (DD+) is recognised by the SONOS App when playing directly from Netfix App on TV, this means the TV and SONOS ARC are not talking to each other and not recognising the eARC signal (it should say DOLBY Atmos not DOLBY Atmos DD+). Checked all connections and have rebooted both TV and Soundbar with no success Not ideal when the TV and Sound Bar cost over £3500, I just want it to work and thats what should be delivered by SONOS. I have my Beam connected to my home entertainment center, which happens to be powered by a PC. It works great except that if the computer is silent for 10 minutes, Sonos switches off of TV input. Switching it back manually is frankly a PitA - I set it to TV input, and I want it to stay that way until I change it.I know many use the default “autoplay” setting so if TV sound is detected it switches to TV input, but that means anytime anyone messages me my music cuts out if I’m playing a song from the app or by voice. Plus there’s a delay while it switches back, which an obnoxious and leads to missed messages. Again, I had Sonos stream music, and I want it to stay that way until I change it.There were several requests some years ago about this (eg https://en.community.sonos.com/home-theater-228993/playbar-tv-source-timeout-6734339), but at the time the answer seemed to be just “it’s fixed to timeout to 10 minutes and you can’t change it.” Is there some reason we still can’t override this

We’ve got a Frame TV, so the whole idea is that the TV is more or less camouflaged on the wall by a frame and other artwork. The sound on the TV is fine, but I would love to be able to use the Five speaker in conjunction with the TV sound. Unfortunately the Five would require another sound bar first, as it doesn’t have enough connection options on the unit. Does anyone else have workarounds? Or also have this use-case where they’d like more ways to connect the Five?
