When I try to play NTS Radio using my voice, it always uses TuneIn. I’d prefer to use the NTS Radio app.
Is this normal? If so this is awful. It's exactly why I've never been able to use them for surround sound with the beam and alexa. My room is very long, now I have to shout all the way across when I'm at the other end of the room.
I can’t play music on any music service or do broadcast or anything like that. It says ‘sorry this mode isn’t available in the family room’ i have two sonos ones paired with a playbase
I can issue play/volume commands on Google Assistant to a specific speaker (e.g. "Play x station on Pandora in Kitchen"). However how do I command to play in Kitchen, Dining Room, and Bedroom (as an example)? Is there a command for 'everywhere'? or 'all speakers'? (e.g. "Play x station on Pandora in Everywhere")
Add more 30 bucks to your set up and add a google chrome cast so you can group you Sonos to other google speakers. It works like a charm. moreover you have the nice presentation of the current playing song on tv.
I've only been using Google Assistant on Sonos for a couple of days, but I'm noticing that there's a frequent and variable response delay. Often why I say "Hey Google" plus a command to do something, like turn on a light or play some music, there's a delay of up to 10 seconds before it responds. Other times the same command will respond quickly, similar to the speed I'm accustomed to with my Google Home speakers or with Alexa. This delay is unpredictable but happens quite often. There was no similar delay with Alexa on the Sonos One, and the speaker has a good WiFi connection. There is one common pattern to the delay: normally the white LED on top of the Sonos One brightens as soon as I say "Hey Google", stays bright while I speak the following command, blinks for a second or two after I finish speaking as the command is being processed, then then action happens while Google Assistant speaks the response. When there is a delay, the white LED stays bright when I finish speaking and d
Have two One(sec gen) paired. For my convenience changed speaker default from left to right. As far as the system is concerned the left speaker is the default I am nterested in possible consequences
If i wanted to switch back to Alexa or vis a versa , Alexa to Google on my Sonos one app, what is the correct and easiest way to do this? must I reinstall the voice service again? thanks
I was celebrating when finally Google assistant update landed here in UK.quickly changed over voice assistance from Alexa to this. But then.. It knocks off the Right speakers mic as i set my sonos on stereo pair. Has this issue been patched up yet from an update? Left is the dominant speaker when creating a stereo pair and its the only speaker with enabled mic when changing voice service to google assistant.
I just purchased a number of Sonos products (Move, Playbar, Boost, Symfonisk) and replaced one of my Google Home Mini's in my kitchen with the Sonos Move. When I try to give the Google Assistant Command "Play ABC 12 on Youtube TV" or "Play ESPN on Youtube TV" the Google Assistant replies with, "I'm Sorry, I can't find ABC 12 on youtube tv, or that channel is currently not available". If I give the same command to my google home mini, or my google nest hub, it works fine. There are other google voice commands (such as turn off a light, or play pandora radio) that seem to work fine on the Sonos Move. I contacted Google and they said that it is a Sonos issue as the commands work fine with other products (home mini, google app, nest hub), just not the Sonos Move.
Hi Can I use a Google Home Hub (the device with the screen) to control Spotify and Sonos? I would like to place the Google Hub in my Kitchen and link it to my Kitchen Sonos system. I would then like to say “Hey Google, play the Arctic Monkeys” and have the Google Hub display album artwork etc but have the Sonos speakers play the audio (and not the Google Hub). Is this possible? I have searched all over and can’t find an answer and might have to resort to buying one and trying it and then returning it if this is not possible!
Will we be able to play music from Amazon Music Unlimited to our Sonos speakers using Google Assistant in the future? I realize an Echo device would be the obvious choice here, but I'm hoping to be able to do this with my Android phone.
The voice service used to work very well before using my phone and then just stopped working. I went and bought a google home mini to see if that would work but same result. I have reset everything but still no result. I have a google play subscription I say " OK Google, play classical music in the living room". response is "alright, classical music from google play playing on living room, sorry I'm not sure how to help you yet" and "sorry I cant help with that yet". I have also tried to play in the kitchen (I have Sonos play 1 in the kitchen as well), but the same response. I have tried to unlink the service from my phone and use my tablet instead , but same responses. Google home app shows the speaker connected through sonos in the living room and kitchen. I have contacted the tech support but have had no luck yet
Apologies if this isn't the correct method to make a request. Would it be possible to request Hong Kong be added to the list of future places that support Google Assistant on Sonos products? Thanks!
I set up Google Assistant in my two sonos one (gen 2) and i try to use sleep timer and it not work. When I have spotify playing, if I say "Sleep Timer for 10 minutes", Google Assistant responds "Sleep timers can only be set when media is playing".Is there any way to get this to work?
Hi! So with the recent integration of the Google Assistant onto the Sonos platform I decided to pick up a pair of Sonos Ones (Gen1) to connect with my current Playbar. From everything I've read when being used as a surround pair one of the surround speakers will act as the hub for the voice assistant being used. I've been successful at linking my Ones with Google, and when they are on their own in a stereo pair the Google Assistant works as expected. However, whenever I connect them with my Playbar as a surround pair the Google Assistant becomes unusable. Any query or command results in a long pause followed by a response from the assistant stating that something went wrong or a glitch happened and to try again in a few seconds. Is anyone else experiencing a similar issue? I have a few Google Home Minis that I can use to still have access to the Google Assistant but I'd much rather use the capabilities of the Sonos One.
Goodday, I have multiple Sonos speakers in my living room, but if i change the volume by GA voice it only changes the volume on the one that is 'listing'. This is really annoying and removes the use of voice commands for sonos. It's quicker with the app then changing the volume for every individual speaker by voice... Did i miss something? These would be perfect: 'Volume to 30 percent' 'Group volume to 30 percent' 'All Groups/Speakers volume to 30 percent' Thanks
I've been waiting for Google assistant to come. But when I set it up it won't play any of my Google play music. When I ask it to play it says it's not apart of my subscription. This happens with my own music that the sonos app can see also. But I was hoping it would play my Google music that I can play with thr Google home minis. Is this normal?
Clearly our Sonos Beam has mics and the ability to output sound. It also has Internet access. Are there any actual hardware limitations preventing voice calls being enabled, or is this a business decision by Sonos and/or Google? Will Sonos ever enable Google Assistant voice calling?
Google recently released an update allowing us to cancel alarms by merely saying "stop". My Sonos Beam will only cancel alarms in response to the wake phrase plus "stop", i.e. I must use "Ok Google, stop" or "Hey Google, stop". This is a confusing and unhelpful user experience as the Beam requires different commands to the other Google Home devices in our household. Why doesn't "stop" work, does this indicate that the Sonos integration is not a current version of Google Assistant? What does this mean for the future? I've no idea whether this needs to be fixed by Google or Sonos, I've already reported it to Google, and encourage anyone else experiencing this problem to do so also.
Hi Google Assistant is now available, great I thought so linked it all up and went to add a music service. The only one i can choose or want to is Spotify. It states that the free will work on Google Home, Assistant speakers and Android TV devices. It does not work and Google asks me to look at the app for more help. I am assuming it won’t work with free Spotify then? M
I have successfully linked Google Home (on my android phone) with Sonos, so I can play music on the Sonos Play 1 by saying "Hey Google play in the kitchen" (where "kitchen" is the name of my Sonos Play 1 in the kitchen). So far, so good! : ) Google Home has "routines" such as playing the news and weather when you say "OK Google, good morning". But I don't know how to have the "routine" play from the Sonos speaker. On the Google Home app on my phone if I select "Routines" then it gives me the option to "Play routines on" and an Edit link If I click the Edit link I can select from This device Google mini but I can't select the Sonos speakers (e.g. "kitchen") Is there a way to achieve this? Many thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
Hi, wondering when Google Assistant support is coming to New Zealand? It's available in Australia... seems strange to not be available in NZ. When purchased my Sonos gear was under understanding that Google Assistant support was coming - would be great if roadmap for NZ could be provided. Cheers
Apologies in advance if this is an existing thread but have limited time to search at the moment. Wondering if there's been a workaround/patch developed that allows users to control volume of GA response(s) on Sonos speakers. At present, stereo paired One in bedroom wakes our kids in the next room at minimum volume when used in the middle of the night. We'd appreciate being able to either silence or turn down GA -- current minimum volume is only reasonable with other white noise (ie: when windows are open and somebody is mowing, etc). Cheers!
I have 2 Sonos Ones that I am trying to run GA on (Alexa works fine). I have removed all music services, transferred my Sonos to a Google Account and tried everything, but still the connection is not working. I have followed all the troubleshooting steps and things still don't work. It seems like this integration needs a lot more polish. Tried on iOS, Android, failures all around.
