"I have a Sonos One and am using the Google interface. Frequently now it tells me that it cannot reach the internet. I have to power it down and back on again to get it to interface properly. Any assistance with this problem would be appreciated."
Okay, I have noticed a strange behavior: If I issue the command "*lamp name* x%" to my google home, it replies with a chime and sets that specific (Ikea tradfri) light to x% brightness. If I issue the same command to my Sonos one, It replies with a web search reply. Which is useless to me ;). I am sure that I set the Sonos up in the right google assistant/home group stuff, because when I simply say something like "turn lights on/off" it replies with a chime and does just that. Does anyone have a solution (or at least explanation) for this behavior?
I am trying to play music on my Sonos Beam using Google Assistant. I have a Spotify Premium account. When I ask assistant to play anything (song, playlist, artist) on Spotify, it initially says "sure, playing xxx" and then after a pause says, "sorry, the requested media content isn't available for your Spotify premium tier". I am using an iPhone X for the setup. I've tried unlinking and relinking my Spotify account in both the Google Assistant and Sonos apps. I've tried deleting and reinstalling Google Assistant. I've tried disabling Google Assistant and then reenabling it. No dice! I was previously using Amazon Alexa with the Sonos Beam for a short time and Spotify was working fine (but I would prefer to be able to use Google Assistant for other reasons). If I try to play music using Google Assistant through the app on the iPhone, it will open Spotify and go to the correct artist but not actually play the song. Would really appreciate any suggestions.. it's driving me nuts!!
I currently have Sonos One's 2nd Gen in my theater setup. I've been researching and pondering what speakers to put in the rest of the house. I've been endlessly changing my mind but think I'm leaning towards the Sonos One and I've seen some 1st Gens with decent prices. I do not have experience with the first Gen. Without the updated processor and internals, does GA still function fine? I only ask cause there were few posters speculating that could be one of the reasons they were updated.
After trying with limited success in integrating Alexa with home lights, I am thinking of trying again with Google Assistant. Is the GA integration through Sonos with Lutron Caseta solid? For example, can I group the lights and the Sonos so I can say "Hey Google, turn on the lights" to the Sonos One in my kitchen, and GA will turn on the lights in the kitchen? Or is it still sort of dumb, where I have to tell the kitchen Sonos "turn on the lights in the kitchen"? I don't have the Lutron Caseta swtiches - just thinking of installing them after ecobee toasted the temperature sensor function on their Swtich+.
Where in my Sonos options do I select the country? Or is this a case of needing to use a VPN temporarily? I would like to change it to the USA so I can enable Google Assistant. I imagine this means I'll start hearing dates in the wrong order, and temperature in fahrenheit, but I can put up with that for the time being until GA is launched in Australia.
Just bought a Google home mini and got it conected to my Play 1s and Play 5. I can successfully ask it to play music in the kitchen or whatever, no problem. The only thing I can't get to work is the broadcast. The mini just says "it looks like you haven't got any devices connected". I found this post but I don't seem to have the Settings>Room Options... so I'm assuming they're talking about the newer Play Ones. So, the question is, it possible to get the home mini to broadcast to the Play 1s and Gen1 play 5? If so, how? Thanks
Hello all, Ive tried everything including talking to google directly and im still having issues. My sonos one is linked to my google assistant for voice stuff and everything works ie weather, traffic, volume up/down ext. but for the life of me I cant get it to play music through voice commands. It goes like this me: "hey google play (artist) on (app)" google: "ok here's (artist) on (app).... sorry I can't do that right now". The last little bit varies a little sometimes, but ya I've tried everything. I can however go into the sonos app and select the music from there and it plays fine, Its literally just the music voice command. List of stuff I have tried: unplugging sonos, factory reseting sonos, uninstalling music apps on phone, going through every setting and option under the sun, I even under googles instruction changed my email to all gmail accounts in regards to the apps and sonos itself. So ya if anyone on here can help me out id appreciate it, the whole reason I got th
Please fix the endless loop issue. I still have it. Bought the Sonos Move but it is so frustrating to NOT be able to get Google Assistant working. My Sonos account is fine, speaker is there but I either come in to this endless loop between both Sonos and GA app or I get the message from the GA app that I need to add my speaker to my Sonos account to add this skill. Tried everything and looking in the history here in the community it seems this issue is still there and very persistent. I live in the Netherlands
I'm trying to trigger Calm using Google Assistant on my Sonos one, so that I don't have to open the distraction/stress generator machine that is my iPhone. :) However, this task is making me all but calm. When say "on Google talk to calm" to the Sonos it says that "calm is not supported on this device". I've also tried putting Calm content into My Sonos in the Sonos app, which works, but I can't seem to find a way to play those via Google Assistant. Google Assistant on the Sonos One works great I'm general, plays Spotify etc. Calm works when using it from the Sonos app. Calm works when using the iOS Google Assistantant app. Can you provide some trick to solve my ailment?
Morning, Just received Move and trying to set up Google Assistant to it. I keep getting an endless loop of signing into Sonos and then it going back to the page as per the attached screenshot. Any ideas on what to do or what may be causing this? Many thanks!
Hi I'm from Sweden and we just got the Google Voice functionalty. I can't get the Google Home mini service to work with my Sonos. It says that my Spotify Premium account is not linked correctly. I've checked numerous times that it is the same Spotify and Google account in Google Home and Sonos. However it works perfect when using voice commands to Google Assistent on my phone, just not using Google Home Mini?
I have had Google assistant setup on my Sonos system here in the UK since it was released. Unfortunately it seems to be very broken. Unless I'm just specifying an artist to play I always seem to get the response "Sorry I can't find the content you requested". If I say the same commands to my Google Home Mini it works perfectly. If I say the following to my mini it works OK Google, Play 20 Golden Greats by the Hollies but if I say the following however: OK Google, Play 20 Golden Greats by the Hollies in the Living Room ...I get "Sorry I can't find the content you requested" (Living Room is a Sonos room) My mum has a Sonos system and has just ordered a Google Home mini. I'm too embarrassed to show her the Sonos integration as it just doesn't seem to work. When will these issues be fixed? Thank you Darren
Google Assistant is experiencing temporary issues today, the 20th of August '19. You may find that you are unable to initiate music playback. Upon trying, you will receive the following voice notification: ”I can’t do that here, but you can ask me to play it on one of your other devices”. You can view the status of any ongoing outages via our Status page. We are currently investigating the issue and we will have it fixed as soon as possible. We will update this thread once the outage is resolved. Many thanks for your patience and understanding!
I was excited to see integration with Google assistant, however when I try to add sonos, the following happens: 1) I go to voice services and add Google Assistant 2) this takes me to the Google screen where it authenticates me using the same email address that's on my sonos account 3) this then redirects me to the sonos authentication 4) after authenticating on sonos, it says I need to register my speakers to my account, so I click Go to Sonos App, and the process starts all over again. This doesn't make sense. My speakers are registered to my account. When I go to the sonos website, and sign in with the same email address, I can see all of my speakers. Elsewhere in this process it says if I go to More > Settings > Account Settings and I don't see "Account" I need to update my sonos system. I do not see "Account" - I see my email address as the linked account and then I see Transfer account. Where is "Account"? I've also confirmed my app and speakers are all up to date.

Sonos's integration of Google Assistant is very very poor. I'm currently having the following problems, all of which are very basic. Can't shuffle music Can't voice match (e.g. to put phone on Do Not Disturb) Can't do basic things until you turn off Voice Activity Can't turn down Assistant's very loud voice Can't set alarms (they just disappear) And no Chromecast! This is a shameful stain on Sonos's reputation.
How do I get my beam to play music that I own and is saved on my phone with a voice command? When I ask it to pay anything, it says I don't have a subscription so Google Play Music. GPM is my default music service since all my music is uploaded into that library. I can cast it to the Beam, but it wont play anything I ask it to.
