I’ve just bought Sonophone  1,99 euros ! And it’s working ! All my Sonos products are here, all my playlists and all my music library ! Yes !!!

Very easy to use, very simple, that’s what we need .

Shame on you Sonos to spoil our music as you do…

Absolutely awful app. Not intuitive. Laggy. Does not show current music. Does not allow multi room selection / switching consistently. For gods sake let everyone switch back until you come up with something that works properly.
very disgruntled long time user.

Totally agree… What’s baffling to me is that I’m sure Sonos employees, including designers and developers, are most, if not all, Sonos product owners and app users - none of the issues we’ve been reporting should be a surprise, and they released it anyway. Thankfully I have 1 iPad that did not auto-update and is still on S2.

Hey Sonos;

I never complain on any forum, on any product, just to qualify how frustrated i am.   I have over 10 speakers in my house.  Planning to buy at least another 10 for another residence, except now you’ve made my wife and kids so angry, i have to look for different solutions.  Please just fix queue mgmt, restore the playlists and admit this was a terrible launch with no real insights in to how your loyal base actually uses your product.  Hoping you can fix this quickly.  Please.

Yeah. The people complaining here are the CHAMPIONS for this product in our homes and friend communities. This * makes us all look like chumps who can’t be trusted to advise on tech between friends. It feels more personal than other tech and more impactful because we said the price increases were worth it.

I have an iPad tablet, my wife has an android phone, neither device can find our Sonos system consistently. The app says “no connected products.” I have to unplug the four Sonos speakers, plug back in, then the devices can find it. What a colossal pain in the ass!

Luckily my iPhone did not update to the new app version so we can still use Sonos. But, my goodness, I’ve never experienced a software rollout so rushed and full of bugs. Really disappointed in Sonos, and I’m worried something is seriously wrong with the company. Are you ok, Sonos?

Sonos seems incapable of admitting they've screwed the app. Instead these fools tell us it took "courage" to to this. I'm probably going to gift my sonos system to my son and switch to the MIT owned BOSE. I prefer Sonos but then again the BOSE also has bluetooth.

20240510 Sonos Application Update is a failure and is causing connectivity and update problems making these speakers and the system unusable. Rollback this update NOW!

Unusable and if this goes on more than a month my kit will be available on eBay. I don't understand anyone saying this is ok, you have ignored or not carried out any testing to any software development standards. And whilst I'm capable of digging around the internet for myriad workarounds and fixes for all the problems why should I waste my time? It all worked fine when I set it up originally and now I have to carry out complicated fixing steps to restore a service or a radio station even? Atrocious corporate behaviour and all for a 'new' look and feel that some technically expert users might like.

With all the issues w/ the new App. Where is customer support on the weekends!!!

They're out taking a course in "courage" and what it means.

Sorry Sonos you will not get a chance to fool most of us…a third time.  I’m moving into a new home…just about to order a bunch of new stuff. Nope. Done.

If you would have backed out yesterday….we would have known you’re not going to just kick the can down the street.

Cowards.

Your release manager (if you even have one) should be fired immediately.

Wow! Sonos, I’d have thought you would have learned from the debacle of rendering old Sonos kit useless. You were forced to make a U turn then and introduce an S1 app and a separate S2 app for those with new kit. So my suggestion is that you immediately make the S2 app (previous version 16 i think) available for those of us that used alarms, sleep timers and have our music stored on a local storage device, yes it does work but you don’t get any artwork and you can’t set up a file path to local storage and all the other items you seem to have discarded for the time being. Release this app as a Sonos S3 app, that way those people that are unaffected by the missing items can use the new app and it also gives people a chance to try the new app and if they don’t like it can revert.

I find it stunning that you even considered releasing this, clearly you knew it wasn't finished, I don’t know what your reasoning was to do this. It is simply not good enough to say that you will be including the missing items in a future release, when, one week, one month, one year or never?

I was lucky I still have the old version on my iPad with updates turned off and also on a Windows 11 PC. I was able to side load the previous app on my Pixel 7 and remove the new version app, I have also ensured the auto update is turned off in the Play store and within the app. But users should not be in the position they need to do such things.

Anthony

Yes sonos change takes "courage". Admitting you've failed takes "Emotional maturity".

Really a shame how poor Sonos is at the upgrades! I love the hardware and hate the software! Wish there was an alternative … or an app that would run Sonos products. Would pay for any such alternative.

What is wrong with a long time company like Sonos that can’t handle simple software upgrades and constantly alienate their base?!? Uggghhh!!!

Pay attention Sonos!!!

I did it but the new update installed itself nevertheless. It’s a nightmare !

You need to turn off the auto app update for Sonos in the play store as well as the auto update in the app itself. That’s what I’ve done and I’m back to normality with the old S2.

Knowing Sonos they’ll go for black text on a black background :-)

What’s wrong with the Dark Mode features that the App uses from the controller device settings at the moment? I was thinking it looked okay - same goes for the new Web App too.

PLEASE clarify for me the dictionary definition of "Update". Was this a Friday afternoon project for a local nursery school? It's absolutely dreadful! I reluctantly accepted the S1 to S2 update (and then quickly got used to it). This alleged update is beyond ridiculous - I assume not even in house Beta tested. And no rollback!!!

Some issues (not comprehensive as I simply don't have the time to deep dive):

* Local library search function inferior.

* Search overall dreadful.

* No room selection on playback (defaults to last room).

* Playback glitchy and unstable.

* App appearance poor and difficult to navigate.

* So many other complaints but I'm too angry to list.

Thank God I've got about 3,000 CDs as this "update" has almost made Sonos too much of a pain in the ass to use. Particularly galling when I've got over £1,000 of equipment and loved the multi room functionality.

PLEASE go back to the drawing board, sort out the more bugs than a tramp's mattress and release an update on the S3 app. Sonos should be utterly ashamed - and I'm assuming they are!

My problem is I have an iPhone. Should have made that clearer. Thanks for the fast response anyway. Have a Great Day.
