Troubleshoot, tune and get the most out of your system

I have a simple Sonos system with 2 Play 1’s and a Boost. I recently had to set up the system again as my PC went away to be fixed. I was using the S1 app but have now been moved to the S2 app. Now I cannot set up the music library. I have tried to connect to the Sonos on my desktop computer and my laptop. Every time I get a message: “Reason: Unable to add the shared folder //Laptop … to your Music Library(1002)”I thought it might be a network issue, so tried to make a small library using a USB memory stick in the desktop or the laptop with a few music files on it. Still no joy, and the same message.Could it be a firewall issue (although as far as I can tell the firewall was configured correctly during the setup procedure)? I am using a mesh system and again all looks OK with all the nodes connected.I am running out of ideas - does anybody have any idea what the issue might be?
I would like to have surround sound for the sofa viewing position, and some kind of setup in the kitchen area so the TV can be heard. Any suggestions?
With Amazon Music, it seems I can’t search. Is that normal? That service is NOT helpful. I had YouTube Music--it was okay. I need something great--and, obviously, searchable. Whatcha all got?
We have 6 Sonos AMPs at our client. Three are connected from switch 1 and three are on switch 2.On switch 2, duplicate devices are displayed and disconnect these Sonos and Sonos'AMP switches to Wi-Fi Sonos. How can I prevent SONOS from turning on WI-Fi and how can I prevent Wi-Fi connectivity from turning on separately.Current SW, devices are about a month old.Thank you for your help.
I bought an Arc to replace my PlayBase, which I love. I will be using my PlayBase on the Samsung TV in our bedroom. My 10 year old Sony Bravia KDL series (70”) has a hdmi arc connection which I found out when I connected the Arc hdmi cable to one of the regular hdmi connections. The Sony TV is not Dolby Atmos. So how do I get Dolby atmos through the Sony Bravia TV? Do I need a smart tv that’s Dolby Atmos? I will be purchasing the LG Oled tv sometime next year.
I am on ios and the app tells me to reauthorise my apple account, when taken to the log in page i enter my details and sign in, but then it opens the screen that says i need to reautherise again…There is also no call centre for sonos in my country…
I have just purchased a Sonos Beam Gen 2. I do enjoy the sound but cannot connect to Google Assistan.I notice over the last week or so, others have a similar problem. I have tried using the ‘bot’ and email with no help at all.I am a newbee and was wondering if anyone knows what’s going on? Is there a solution? or are we waiting for a fix from Sonos?Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank
Help. My Sonos takes about 4 attempts before it will play. Then the visual information does not keep up with the track being played. If the system plays for longer than two hours I receive the famous "no products found " message. Meaning everything freezes. So frustrating. Any ideas. I'm not a computer engineer IT graduate. I bought Sonos as a plug and play.
Hi,Earlier today I was playing with the placement of my sub mini to get rid of some unwanted boominess around 50hz.After finding a spot that sounds better, I noticed that if I lower the subwoofer level to the minimum (-15), the bass boominess at 50hz is back. And… it seems to be coming from the arc ultra!! In other words, it seems that adjusting the subwoofer level seems to affect how much bass is played by the ultra vs sub.I'm pretty sure this is not how things worked in other sonos soundbars I tried, or the sonos amp I own. In those cases the crossover frequency is set at a fixed level - anything above is sent to the soundbar and anything below to the sub. And the sub level is just a gain control for the sub output. But my feeling is that, for the ultra , sub level is controlling both the gain AND the crossover between the bar and the sub. I find this is making it harder for me to integrate the sub in my system (in fact, my usual sub placement no longer works, as it sounds too boomy f
It appears that Amazon Music is now supported with Google Assistant and Google Nest devices.Has anyone got them to work together on their Sonos speakers? It’s almost like I’ve got them halfway working together with my Sonos Beam. Google Assistant recognizes some commands but not all. What’s also weird is that if I check my Google activity, it doesn’t show the commands I’m requesting. However, if I use my Google Assistant app on my iPad and ask it to play an album or song on my living room speaker, it works perfectly and show the command in my Google activity. This is what I mean by it’s working “halfway”.Perhaps Sonos themselves aren’t aware Amazon Music hasn’t been added to Google Assistant which is why it might not be work correctly.
Hi. I have a Sonos One Gen 2. It was dropped and now the bass reverberates on the mid-woofer. Is there anywhere you can get a like-for-like part to replace it? It looks very easy to swap over.
system has suddenly stopped playing from my Apple music purchases list. In the Sonos app a pop up says: Can't play "Julekveldsvise."( a track on the norwegian Christmas music album ) It's not encoded correctly.
I love how Sonos response to the limited library is use someone else’s software and pay for their subscription. Music fans with large libraries can go pound sand.Plex isn’t good for playlist imports. But….Roon is expensive as heck. However Roon streams perfectly with the Sonos hardware and even does whole home playback. You’re no longer stuck with the Sonos app and even no longer stuck in Sonos hardware ecosystem.Try the Roon free trial
Hi,I currently have in ceiling speakers powered by a multi zone amp using a Port as the source. The speakers are in the perfect place to be surround speakers for my TV, to which I am considering adding an Arc Ultra and sub. That TV currently has a different sound bar.If I do this, I would want to use the in ceilings as surrounds. First, I dont think the port is capable of this, so I would have to switch that zone to a Sonos Amp…. frustrating, but fine. I sill have a few issues and questions…The amp is in a downstairs audio closet but I am able to hardwire ethernet the Amp and the Arc to the same switch if necessary. Is there any issue that they are in different rooms? The sub would be in the same room as the Arc. In this configuration, my 4 in ceiling speakers are now bonded to the Arc meaning they are somewhat permanently “surround” speakers. In movie mode, no big deal, but in music mode, will they be “secondary” to the arc? In music mode, I prefer to have the in ceiling speakrs doing
Hello, I need Atmos theatre sound for a portable projector - it has e-arc I believe I have a play base which works but isn't used much any more - not sure if that has e -arc or if there is a work around any advice how to bring the play base into use ? Also how to “add” to it ? Or do I buy a beam 2? I dont want to buy an arc ultra as this all has to be positioned within feet / meters of the projector (cable length ) and put away after the holidays until next year ? Any advice please ?
Hi, Just got a new LG C4 TV after having an old Samsung for 10 years, been using a Playbar the whole time. I have the new TV and Magic Remote hooked up to the Playbar no problem. However, my old TV used an IR remote and I was able to control the Playbar’s volume when the TV was off, but I was streaming music to the Playbar via the Sonos app. The new LG remote uses RF and will only control the Playbar if the TV is on. I think I am answering my own question here, but is there any way to get the Magic Remote (RF) to control the Playbar directly, with the TV off, so I can adjust the volume of music streaming to the Sonos device with the TV off? thanks… Charlie
It appears that with the newest app release for Android, which did give us local library album art, that we have now again lost the fix for compilation albums. Yep, seeing dozens of album entries per artist again. I assume others are seeing the same?
I have a mini sub (got rid of the old sub) and I typically have it turned off out of respect for my neighbors. When I decide to turn the sub on or off there are about 7 or 8 taps/steps I need to go through to achieve that. It’s not so much the taps but more about remembering the mapping to get there each and every time.So here is my suggestion….. and Its crystal clear in the image below that I created for you. Include the sub at the bottom of the output selector page and even though it doesn’t have a volume you could use the slider to adjust the amount of bass. Plus I can turn it on or off RIGHT THERE!!!! No more 8 steps to turn on and then another 8 steps to turn it off. I just saved your customer 16 steps. You can’t make it any easier than THAT! 😊 Plus I know engineers love to complicate things so they could add a toggle under the Sub Mini options to “SHOW/HIDE” the sub control in the Output Selector page if so desired. That way the Output Selector won’t get too full if the
Hi, trying to connect our new sonos arc ultra to our 10 years old Samsung smarttv. Using the hdmi cable that came with the sonos. The soundbar works, but connecting with the smarttv doesn't. It says "interferes with another HDMI device.I removed all other devices and tried other hdmi cables to connect the arc.I shut down and restarted the wifi router. I can't find the sound settings in the tv menu, to check for the CEC settings.Don't know what to do more. The soundbar works well with the mini woofer and another sonos speaker. But we want to use is as tv soundbar ofcourse. Can anybody please help me any further? Thanks!
Hi there, here is my tiny home cinema space, and I need some advice please :)As you can see, one side is closed and the other one (where I stand to take the photo) is open to a large room, next wall (behind me) is 4m20 from the end of the couch. The wall of the tv is 2m50, the couch is 2m60.Left wall and TV wall are 3m30 away.I intend to switch my sennheiser ambeo max + B&W sub to a sonos arc ultra, mainly to use my ace headphone and avoid disturbing my daughter’s sleep.I plan to add later a sub (maybe a mini so it could fit in my TV bench) and some surround speakers. My choice would be the era 300 because I watch a lot of atmos content, but how to place them...There is no more other half so I can do whatever I want :)I was thinking about move a little forward the couch (maybe 30cm and improvise a home made thin shelf to fill the void), use stands or wall mount. But if it’s ok I can just wall mount the era 300 without moving the couch.Unfortunatly the era 300 would be very close to th
The sleep timer in the Sonos app only provides fixed time choices, yet, I almost always want longer than 2 hours and would prefer an ability to choose how long I want the timer to run. Thanks for considering.
Since the latest app update (December 10 - iOS) I can not longer see the queue when I play a Spotify playlist. I get a message on the Queue screen (in the Sonos app) saying “Started from Spotify” as if I had used the Spotify app to play the playlist. But I had used the Sonos app to find the playlist and start it from there, like I have always done. I can’t see the queue in the new desktop (web) interface either. Is it just me?
Sonos should consider integrating Dolby Atmos FlexConnect into its set-top box as it would mark a major advancement in delivering superior sound quality for home theater systems. This cutting-edge technology would enable users to expand their setup effortlessly by adding more speakers while maintaining distortion-free audio, regardless of where the speakers are placed in the room.
Have 2 Sonos connect hard version 1.22.1.5-1.1(bedroom) and 1.17.5.-1.1(living room). Both systems are on latest software 16.5. Living room connects and plays consistently. Bedroom cuts out of network after 5 minutes or so playing. Solution hard reset and reconnect and plays for another 5 minutes and goes out of reach. After spending hours either Sonos support and providing multiple crash despots diagnostics I get a 30% off on a new Sonos connect. Ridiculous. Can’t blame network as the one needing reset and reconnect is sitting 1inch away from router. Tried hard wired. Sad resolution. I have one Sonos working so I can carry on. However I would like to provide feedback for those with similar issue and hardware and software versions. You don’t need a 30% off on a new Sonos as a solution. You can get 30% off during holiday shopping without contacting support.
Why is it that my Amazon speakers work efficiently and effortlessly everytime I ask them to play music whereas my Sonos speakers have caused me nothing but grief and hardship from the day I purchased them? They rarely stay connected to my wifi for any worthwhile period of time and it’s always an exercise in patience and frustration trying to get them reconnected. As for the Sonos app, well it sucks (sorry, no other word comes to mind that better describes it). As with the speakers, sometimes it works, most days it doesn’t. 🤬
