I noticed on my Sonos home theater (arc ultra, 300s, sub4) all LEDs keep running even product is in low power or idle mode. Sonos should roll out a feature to turn off all LEDs when they are in standby or use a diff color. There is no way for us to know that products are in low power mode. thanks!
This topic falls somewhere between a conversation and a question. When there is need for a multi-solution sound system with limited funds Sonos might not be the optimal choice, but with what I assume to be simple means it could be a better choice. Speaking from personal experience: I’ve previously bought 2 Era 100s and use them as TV-speakers awaiting an upgrade on the Arc to later use them as surrounds. Meanwhile I own a turntable which I’m looking to hook up to the same system (disclaimer; I am well aware that it’s sub-optimal and that there are better ways to enjoy your vinyls, though for the sake of convinience, this would be my personal preference). It is common knowledge that when the era 100s, or 300s for that matter, loses its capability to use the line-in function when used as surround speakers. Something to do with optimizing their primary use as surround speakers. However, browsing the web there seems to be a fair few who would like a function to easily switch between surroun
I have looked at the various answers in the forum and none resolve the inability to amend alarm times or set new ones. I will need a new system as I need an alarm and am realising SONOS has lost the art of innovation.
The fall of Sonos is a MBA case study in the making.
My Sono app will not connect to my Android phone or my new ipad but it will connect to my wife's iPhone and her older ipad and I don't know why
Hi,I have a Sonos Arc which I purchased in June 2024. I recently setup Alexa as my voice assistant and have had issues with it randomly disconnecting. The disconnection happens when I’m watching tv and when I’m not. I came across some threads in the Sonos community which had the same issues and I tried all the diagnostics. I ended up calling Sonos customer service and they also ran diagnostics with me and I am still having the same issue. The options I got were either I send my Arc in and have the technical team diagnose the problem and if no resolution is found they would send me a new one. The other option i was given was to purchase a new Sonos Arc Ultra. This could be a three week long process and I would not have a sound bar to my disposal. Which is not a big issue but when you spend almost a thousand dollars on a sound bar you would want to use it. The tech then asked me to disable my touch controls. And I asked them I would lose functionality of my device. I shouldn’t have t
Latest app update struggles hard to stay connected to Apple Music. It frequently skips songs and notes it could not connect to WiFi. Not experiencing WiFi issues with any other devices on my network. Attempted to submit diagnostics to Sonos in the app 3 times and all failed.
This has happened several times over the last 6 months. The iOS app will work as expected for about one week and then it will open the splash screen, freeze and then clear. I end up deleting the app and then download it again and it works for another week or so and then I do the dance all over again. Easy enough to join the existing system but a pain in the rear to have to do it continually just to use our whole home system. It wasn’t cheap to install but was supposed to be a great system and it was until lately. Am I stuck with having to delete and download weekly or does anyone have any recommendations?
I’m fed up of updating the app and it going wrong so normally leave it a while. But this app update is being forced on me - basically blocked the use of the app for any of my many Sonos speakers.
Like other users, I’ve been toiling with getting Sonos to index and use my local Music collection. I finally ran across this article:https://support.sonos.com/en-gb/article/share-your-macos-music-folder-with-sonosI otherwise granted Sonos full disk access, and yet it still could not use “My Music Folder”. This makes no sense. Further, it makes no sense that to use my music collection, I’d have to go through yet another protocol (SMB) -- granted this works, and I’ll take it because it’s been a lot of trouble. But my question is why? Why can’t Sonos simply access My Music Folder? I even shared it, no luck. SMB it is, for now, but this really shouldn’t be the solution for Sonos and Music on the same physical system.
Is it normal that artwork doesn’t appear on the SONOS S2 headphone area, playing Bluetooth from Apple Music?
Sorry if this has been asked/answered/discussed, but why on earth do that not allow the Ace to be used with Alexa. To me it is a no brainer. There are so many examples of why this is a needed interface. The Ace is a great noise cancelling headphone, but what if I have a timer going on my Alexa for my lunch to be ready, and I’m listening to music while I’m working with my Ace headphones on with noise cancelling going, now I can’t hear my timer go off. This is a simplistic example of use case, yes, but nonetheless, this is one thing I think at this point Sonos has really missed the mark on with the Ace.
Hey, I have a video (with Audio) of my Wonderboom 4 $119 AUD performing better than my 2x Sonos Play 5 and Sub. This has only occured in the last year recently and is the subject of hundreds of posts. Can Sonos advise if they are looking into it and the progress. Anybody with any info would be appreciated….
Since the most recent update (82.3-60160) we are now getting “something went wrong” messages about 90% of the time on all our controllers for all our players for just about every operation. Can’t play music - local or services. Can’t adjust volume. Can’t group or ungroup. Can’t stop music once we do get it playing. Etc. We have uninstalled/reinstalled the apps, rebooted the speakers, rebooted the whole network (Sonos’ answer to everything), but it doesn’t seem to matter. This is the most useless our system has been since the disastrous new app rollout, and that’s really saying something. I see many threads about similar errors. Is this being worked on? Any explanation or ETA for a fix?
Does anyone know how to fix this, or whether it’s just not feasible. I have the following system paired 1 Sonos beam, x2 Sonos ones and a sub. I call this pairing BEDROOM. This pairing is connected via HMDI arc from the Beam to the TV. When I group my Sonos roam SL to the bedroom pairing, the Sonos Roam SL will also play the tvs audio, Albeit with a slight delay. However, when I group my Sonos Move to the Bedroom pairing, the Move is silent. No audio comes out. for context if I use airplay from my Iphone, I can group all of my devices, including the Move and play music, YouTube etc. the problem seems to only be the Move refusing to play audio when grouped with the bedroom pairing and the TV is the source of audio. I have tried restarting the Move, turning the whole system on and off etc and can’t seem to fix this issue.
My Sonos Play 1 has done the same as many others before and blown part of it’s 240V step-down circuitry so when powered via the mains the unit no longer worksThe parts blown are the two 1 Ohm 1206 SMD resistors just up from the big brown capacitor on the power step-down part of the board as also happened to @Lazarov and @Helix66 in this threadBlown resistors R522, R523, R524 MosFet next to itSo I decided to go the route of @huntajon and wire in a 24V DC laptop power supply across one of the two tall capacitors, however when testing these for continuity, I am getting a short which then manifests itself in a buzzing unhappy power 24V laptop supply when I connect itI’ve checked the polarity of the wires vs. the - stripe on the capacitor and this is all correct, so I wondered (a) whether something blown would be shorting the circuit and (b) what is the quickest and easiest way to disconnect all of that circuitry from where I am soldering, and just have the 24V circuit and low voltage parts
As a Sonos customer, here’s my experience:Controlling music from my Apple desktop computer is incredibly frustrating. I can’t select or play music without encountering issues like a spinning wheel or app crashes. I’ve resorted to quitting the app on my desktop and using my iPhone instead, but even then, I often need to press the play button 3–4 times before it connects.I’ve stopped using my Sonos Connect Amp (2nd Gen) entirely because frequent music drops became unbearable. Now, I rely on my Sonos Playbar downstairs to listen to music upstairs.Sonos tech support suggested changing channels in the app or adjusting my Wi-Fi settings, toggling between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Is this really what’s expected of customers—diving into HTTP settings and manually assigning channels just to enjoy uninterrupted music?Didn’t Sonos start out as a software company? Then later transitioned to streaming music services? As a loyal customer, I’m left extremely disappointed. What was once a leading music solu
I am trying to connect a Ray soundbar to a relatively old TV.The TV has an SPDIF Out. But it is not working at all. I have tried to use an optical cable which has a mini Toslink connector at one end.Do I need to buy a separate converter?
Hi,Managed to block all updates back in May -24, and still running my 15 devices with the golden S2 16.1 app (Android) and system 16.1.1 on speakers, my Amp and Port. Full wifi setup without Sonosnet, and as Asus routers have a bad rap with Sonos, my AX86U is set to Wifi 5 with QoS disabled, better play it safe. Everything works decently, including Alexa and Sonos Voice. As long as I’m on Android staying with the old app is no problem, on a new phone I can just sideload it.With the frozen state of the system I haven’t been able to add any new devices, which given my hobbyist knack is getting frustrating. Is the new app (and system) already good enough, so that nice new speakers outweigh the potential hassle with the new software? Or should I just stay a holdout and start to view the Sonos more as an appliance, not touching it until I someday might move house? Any thoughts?
Does anyone else spend more time trying to get their Sonos (insert product name here) to work rather than actually being able to listen to it?
I’ve got an Rotel A12 integrated amp, with CD Player and Vintage TT attached. The amp drives a pair of Wharfedale speakers in living room. Only streaming I do is Apple Music via a dedicated iphone that I connect direct to the A12 via USB or Bluetooth.Looking to connect from my amp’s pre+out to the Port that would wirelessly drive an Era speaker in another room (or on my deck), however I’d only feed audio to ONE room at a time, ie, if feeding to the Era, I’d have my Wharfedale speakers off on my A12.This would work…right? Also…. I’m thinking of setting up a 2nd router, disconnected from internet ISP, so a local, closed WiFi network to handle WiFi network to stream audio from Port to Era…. Is this doable?
I have bought the Latest Sonos Ultra Arc Soundbar and looking for any advise someone has bought for a Televisions, size and make that also is of the same high Spec and shows off the quality's of the sound Bar
Even some very cheap headphones tell you in your native language or in English how much battery life is left. You would expect that from headphones that cost up to 20 times more. Having to open the Sonos app every time to find out is really annoying.
Just off the phone with Sonos Support. My initial question, within the first 3 minutes, was “is there a known issue with the Sonos App on IOS?”. The answer from L1 was “no”. Many troubleshooting steps later (I have deep networking knowledge) in 1.5 hours, L2 (through L1) came back with “there *is* a known issue with the Sonos App on IOS”. I had no opportunity to talk with L2 directly.Tom Conrad, as a fellow *giant* fan of Sonos, I hope you understand that Sonos is on the brink of ruin. I also hope that the tattoo on your left forearm doesn’t begin to look like a Blackberry. Avid fans like me can no longer in good conscience recommend any Sonos product. Fans, if you are having trouble with the Sonos App on IOS, starting make noise. A lot of it. Light the forums up. Light Redit up. Facebook. X. Instragram. I know I will. Sincerely, Disappointed
Dear Sonos App Dev Team, please add the feature to the Sonos app to play and add to queue all songs contained within a folder of the music library. This feature gives massive flexibility and was already included in the app version before the changes of May 2024.Please fix it, 4 months have passed since you killed this feature without reason.Best,Elias
