Even some very cheap headphones tell you in your native language or in English how much battery life is left. You would expect that from headphones that cost up to 20 times more. Having to open the Sonos app every time to find out is really annoying.
Not sure what you are connecting yours to but in addition to my phone, I connect my Ace to my computer and in Windows 11 if I click on the devices pop up (in lower right corner of screen) and then choose bluetooth it shows me the battery status there also.

There are more places to check the battery status, but you need another device to see it. I have also a very cheap headphone, and every time I switch it on it says : battery xx%. And believen me that is nice to hear.
There’s no accounting for tastes - or preferences. I would actually hate it if my headphone would tell me its battery status (or anything else for that matter, like “Bluetooth connected”) at start up.

Still think you need voice assistance to determine battery status?
