I have a video (with Audio) of my Wonderboom 4 $119 AUD performing better than my 2x Sonos Play 5 and Sub.
This has only occured in the last year recently and is the subject of hundreds of posts.
Can Sonos advise if they are looking into it and the progress.
Anybody with any info would be appreciated….
Please define “better”. What posts?
Ok, the lower mids are missing since the software upgrads circa May 2024. I believe these sound frrequencies come from the three bigger speakers in the play 5’s.
I have tested this on a brand new play 5 I got a a 30 day exchange and my 2 old play 5’s by plugging line in RCA into my mixer that has Treble, Mid and Low (American DJ Mixer).
There is no change to the sound when I use the low and mid tones on the mixer for the Sonos.
I have then plugged into my SONY speaker model (ROH GTK33iP) and also Wonderboom and hear full tonal changes on those speakers whjen i chage the mid and base tone dials.
Changing the American DJ mixer mids and lows when on the Sonos has no effect, it as if there is a filter block on the Sonos and no tones change at all in a particular region….…..(Called a bandpass filter effect - I am BE - Elec UNSW).
I also have complete tonal lower mid garbled loss in a song called Space Shanty by Leftfield on the Leftism album on the Sono play 5’s.
Playing all these on the Sony and the wonder boom is no issue.
