I have about 15 sonos devices in my system, mostly Play1’s, a Play5, and several connect:amps. Because of their age, I have to keep them on S1, which has been totally fine. What kills me though is SonosNet. There are a large number of nearby WAPs, and using SonosNet is just a disaster. I’d love to connect everything via ethernet, but it is just not practical. So, wireless it is. I’ve created a separate 2.4Ghz only wifi network for the sonos system and have it VLAN tagged so their IP addresses are in a range distinct from everything else. Works great, except when it doesn’t.A couple times a year we find sonos components disappearing off the system, playback being flaky, interrupted, etc. And, sometimes our entire wifi network just goes tits up. When this happens, I usually find that some of the sonos components have turned their SonosNet back on and somehow or another are creating massive packet collisions on the network. So, then I have to go through the annoying process of rec
I’ve been a Sonos supporter for 15 years + but I’m totally fed up with the unreliability of it. It’s embarrassing. Have friends over and the system just drops in and out… I’m out… anyone got any other suggestions of a reliable system?
I'm a long time Sonos user/advocate/enthusiast. I still have ZP100's running multiple rooms in my house and my CR100 is somewhere in storage. I wrote my first SMAPI server 14 years ago. I've always had an idea of what I wanted from a controller. I finally took a weekend and with the help of my buddy Claude we built something that works pretty good. Please take a look - especially if you are still on S1 - and let me know what you think. Happy to answer questions — it's a personal/hobby project, not affiliated with Sonos.https://github.com/agtilden/misonos is an open, source-available alternative to the Sonos app that runs entirely on your own network — no cloud account, fast LAN control, and installable to your phone's home screen as a PWA. Hello everybody.since yesterday i have missing album art on apple music. To be precise, it appears for one or two songs and then disappears for say half an hour, then again randomly appears for a couple of songs and then it’s gone again. Other services (spotify, pandora) show album art ok. And my apple music app on my iphone shows art just fine. Does anybody have the same issue? Maybe somebody know why it happens. It is actually even strange. When i play apple music in two rooms, it may show art in one room and not show it in the other.
So my Ubiquiti homelab has severe errrors showing.Multiple Sonos devices use same IP. Usually Beam and Sub.Tried every setting I found and thought of to no avail. Contacted Ubiquiti and their team looked at logs and said its on Sonos to rectify.
I would like to request a feature request. Right now when you adjust the volume up or down on the TV, you just see a little picture of a speaker with a + or -. Would prefer to see the volume number or a bar that shows more filled as the volume goes up. More like the traditional TV displays for volume. Thank you.
This product was from startpoor battery, bugs in firmware and now stone deadthis was the last sonos product i will buythere are better alternatives :-)
I am using the App on the iPad. Everything is wireless, and the app is updated. I have two Symfonisk speakers and one Arc. The Arc always appears, but The speakers are not found until I reboot them. They need to be rebooted every time. I have been on the phone with Support and they have not been helpful. we have done all the rebooting speakers on my iPad, disabled the VPN, etc. this never used to be a problem! I can’t think of anything that changedVery frustrating.
Just purchased an LG OLED B5. I have a slight hearing impairment and routinely listed through my Sennheiser RF 175 headphones(connected to tv through Optical). However, at times I would like to have my guests get audio from my Arc setup, connected through eARC.Is there a device that would allow both audio sources to work simultaneously?TIA
this is our small theatre room, approximately 4m x 4m with a 85 inch tv. I want the most immersive experience. I’m thinking a Sonos arc and sub, but don’t know what to do about rears as the couch is up against the wall. Do I do era 100s or 300s, do I do stand mounts, wall mounts or ceiling mounts. just after some advice
I bought a couple of Sonos bundles a long time ago. I had a Sonos Connect Gen 1 in storage that had never been setup, which I am now wanting to use.I added it to my Sonos network, but the S1 app is now informing me that if needs a firmware update (of course). When I tell it to do the update it fails with a 'Error Code 803: Connect'.It is definitely very out of date showing a version 3.8 compared to my other S1 device ls showing version 11.16.1.From reading other posts, I believe I need Sonos Support to force/push a software/firmware update to it.I have generated and submitted diagnostic report. Moderator Edit - Recorded and removed the diagnostics number.
I have been troubleshooting some issues with a location that has 5 Amp units. We have moved all of them to WiFi to try to fix dropouts…During the troubleshooting, I started looking at network stats for the 5 Amps in the UniFi controller. Specifically, traffic/activity to the devices. I noticed that 2 of the 5 Amps are showing traffic to/from: Instagram, Snapchat, Uber, Google Play and Google (in addition to Pandora, Spotify and HTTP/S).These devices are controlled from an iPad that is locked down and does not have any of these above apps installed on it. The other 3 Amps show Pandora, Spotify, HTTP and HTTPS as the traffic. These I would expect.Should this concern me at all?
I keep getting Sonos streams dropping out. The indirectly encoded steam error and cannot play stream when playing anything - Sonos radio, Spotify, Amazon music etc.I have have a Ubiquity wireless network with a Ubiquity Dream Machine and I've tried all sorts of tweaks (e.g. changing STP etc.) and I keep thinking I've got it sorted and then the dropouts start again. My latest tweak seems to have sorted it so I thought I'd share - I just turned the meshing on the APs off. I realised I don't need meshing as I have 12 APs all hard wired back to the UDM. As soon as I turned it off it had become stableJust thought I'd share
I have a lot of Sonos speakers throughout the house but the app is refusing to play music mostly the known errors "couldn't play content" I used to play music using some Chromecast device workaround since the app is terrible. Now I lost the remote and cannot reinitialse my Chromecast. Can't you guys create a working app it's not that your speakers are cheap or anything...... I will not be buying any of your stuff again nor will I recommend it to anybody.
Confused. I have both my Beam gen 2 and mini sub wired up using Ethernet. Am I suppose to only have the soundbar wired up?
I got a project to setup speaker in church, so any one suggest which sonos speaker should be the best
I have my Sonos Library set as follows. My Mac can connect But the Sonos Library shows and “Update Music Library Now” Does not make any difference.Note: Also duplicate Album.
I have a Arc Ultra and Sub 4 arriving this week. what are my best option for adding surround speakers in this room. the house came with 5.1 ‘pre-wired’ but i don’t think the ceiling locations are optimal.. Would you pick #1 (ceiling rough-in), #2 (end tables era 100) or #3 (era 100 on wall). or suggest other options? thanks
Just an update to a previously reported issue Duplicate album names queued together | Sonos Community. I have this album on my music library (apologies for some of the titles, but that’s the way it is): File list for album tracksThe album is listed three times in the controller: Selecting any one of the duplicate titles shows only one track: These results are the same on the Windows, Android, and web controllers. I reindexed before collecting this info. I should add that queueing any one of the duplicate titles only adds one track to the queue. I emailed this info to Sonos support.Moderator Note: Removed and recorded case number
Arc Ultra with Sonos mount. Lg tv with sanus 4D tilt mount. Which tv position is best?
I'm suggesting a redesign of the web based controller with a new (ok, really old) interface.Just grab an old CR-100 and duplicate the design as a web page.Simple, distinct buttons for every feature and not at all confusing. Sonos CR-100 Controller
I guess it is by design as it has always done it but has always updated correctly. Is that just bad design or what?
Hello Sonos Community,I’m looking for some advice on the ideal wall-mounting locations for a pair of Era 300s that I’ll be using as surrounds with my Sonos Arc in my open-plan living area.Current setup:Sonos Arc mounted under the TV TV located on the top wall of the attached floor plan Planning to add a pair of Era 300s as surrounds No Sub (yet)I’ve attached my floor plan for reference.A few things that may affect placement:The living room is part of an open-plan kitchen/dining area. The main sofa will be facing the TV in the living area. There is no rear wall directly behind the seating position. There is a bulkhead above the kitchen cooktop that houses the air-conditioning system. Thanks in advance!

I don't know why Sonos didn't design the Ace to operate just like any other Sonos speaker in my network. It's so disappointing! Fix this Sonos!
