Hi,new feature submission:with more and more portable speakers, headphones and truly wireless devices in Sonos’ lineup it would be really nice to use the app as a separate streaming device with mobile data on the go. The devices would better justify their price tags and Sonos would be probably the first with such feature on the market, meanwhile still locking it to Sonos hardware.let me know if you need more thoughts on the implementation.cheers!
Hey everyone, Just wanted to share an architectural tip that might save some of you a massive network headache. My strong advice is to give all of your Sonos devices a fixed/reserved IP address inside your DHCP server (focused on IPv4, I haven’t audited IPv6 for this behavior).I was recently working on a custom backend script to audit vacant IP addresses inside my home DHCP range, when I realized a major flaw: several of my Sonos speakers did not register as online or leased, nor did they appear anywhere in my firewall’s active ARP table.Because they were completely invisible to the router, my DHCP server could have easily assigned their IP addresses to other clients (laptops, phones, smart home tech), creating an immediate IP conflict. The short story on why this happens:When you group Sonos speakers together into a stereo pair or a surround sound setup, they stop acting like traditional Wi-Fi clients. The master unit (e.g., your soundbar) creates its own private Layer 2 wireless mesh
From yesteday Soundcloud service is broken in my S1 setup. Files not encoded properly .. again.. guess its happening to more than me..
Reporting a bug here. Amazon stations can be played from the station lists, but not from favorites. When playing from favorites, it generates a “unable to play content” error, followed by a “something went wrong” error. This happens on android and windows. Again, the stations play when played direction from the station list.
if you’ve had your Sonos and like to curate hundreds of songs that you’ve probably running to this problem, no matter what, eventually your playlist is invalidated. some songs will work some songs won’t, no rhyme to reason. Only that here you again having the curate yet another playlist of hundreds of songs. I’ve seen this question raised in the community of 1000 times with 1000 solutions from customer support none of Which would’ve ever worked for any individual out there. If this is happening to you, my guess is you are curated your playlist through the Sonos app itself. And that’s where the problem always has been. Providers like SoundCloud Spotify they often move the backend Details where music is streaming from Cyber space. Sonos is only able to take a static picture that will not remain for very long as these are moved randomly By all these music providers. To correct this issue so that you don’t have to continuously create new playlist create your playlist through the app its
I’ve just replaced my Arc with the Arc Ultra in my home theatre set up (Arc Ultra, 2 x Era 300’s 1 x Sub mini) I just unplugged the Arc and plugged the Ultra into the same leads. Added the Ultra in the app, all ok. Now I can’t add the Era 300’s or the Mini. I have removed them from the original Arc set up, powered them off and rebooted the router and my phone, but still showing as not connected so I can’t addd them to the Ultra.
I’m leaving this note for anyone like me that is looking to share thier Arc wth a TV and projector. I bought a OREI eARC/ARC HDMI 2x1 Audio Switch (EARC-102). Working great with my Awol projector and Sumsung Frame TV.
I tried every fix posted online for this issue and after suffering from it for ~2 years, I finally spent a few hours and achieved this fix. Registered to the forums just to share this in case it helps someone else. The fix (probably)What finally got my Sonos macOS app back online after the "Your computer's firewall setting has changed. Your Sonos controller can no longer connect to your Sonos system" error: in-app Uninstall (NOT drag-to-trash) followed by a fresh download from sonos.com.Important caveat: I tried a lot of other cleanup steps before this worked. I can't say for sure whether the in-app Uninstall alone would have fixed it on a "clean" system, or whether the prior cleanup was a prerequisite. If you're hitting the same error, I'd suggest trying the simple fix first — if it doesn't work on its own, here's everything else I did, in case some of it matters in combination.Step 1 — Try this first (the simple fix)This is the step that immediately preceded my Sonos app working agai
Hi everyone,I’m looking for advice on the optimal placement of a Sonos Arc Ultra. The current offer is ending soon, so I’d really appreciate any quick guidance.I’ve attached photos of my full TV cabinet. The Arc Ultra would be placed on the second shelf, which currently measures 147 × 13.5 × 6.3 cm. We’re planning to remove the wooden panels from the top and bottom, which would increase the height clearance to around 9.5 cm.For additional context, the distance from the bottom of the TV to the start of the soundbar shelf is 14 cm, so I believe the recommended TV clearance requirement is covered.I’ve seen mixed opinions online, so I thought I’d ask here. We can also remove all four wooden sections if needed, as they appear to be glued in. I’d prefer to avoid wall mounting, as this alcove cabinet was built specifically with a soundbar in mind.Given these dimensions, would it be safe to go ahead with the Arc Ultra and still get the best performance from it? My main concern is whether the a
Hi everyone,I’m running into a recurring issue with my Sonos Amp in a UniFi network and wanted to check if anyone has seen something similar or has a working setup with current UniFi firmware.Setup: Sonos Amp Ubiquiti UniFi network system (UDM Pro + switches) Amp connected via Ethernet (also tested via WiFi) Flat network during testing (no VLAN separation) Problem:After a reboot, the Amp works fine. But after some time (hours to days, even when idle), it becomes completely unreachable: disappears from the Sonos app cannot be pinged does not respond to ARP requests In UniFi, the behavior varies slightly: sometimes the device is still shown as connected but greyed out other times it disappears entirely as a client however, the physical link LED on the switch port remains on Only a full power cycle brings it back. Replugging Ethernet alone does not help. What I already tried: Ethernet and WiFi (same behavior on both) Disabled WiFi when wired IGMP Snooping + Querier enable
I am streaming with a hardwired (1Gb/s) Nvidia Shield Pro passthrough to a TCL 65QM851G TV. My new Sonos Arc Ultra is plugged into the eARC port of the TV and the TV is set to passthrough to the Arc Ultra. I also have a pair of ERA100’s for surrounds. The Sonos gear is connected to a 5G wifi network. The system plays/streams PCM stereo content with no issue but when I stream any type of Dolby content (Dolby Atmos or Dolby Plus 5.1) it plays awesome for about 5 minutes then the sound starts to drop out very briefly about every 1-2 seconds. If I pause the stream for a couple seconds and restart it, the cycle repeats, 5 minutes of awesome sound then the dropouts restart. What can I do to rectify this issue?
As per title, i use two sonos one 2nd gens. One fell and now the bass is distorted (unless i put -4 on equaliser)Ive opened the speaker as im impatient, if i have the speaker opened slightly the distortion stops. Obviously i dont want that but before i go any further, can i really fix this

I have a new issue with a stereo pair of Sonos One SL speakers. Recently, green status lights have come on even they are toggled off in the app. They come on and stay on when sleep timer ends. Toggling them on and off did not help. Power cyclubf did not help. I talked with support and there was an update available. I ran it and then, maybe five minutes later. The tech said if the issue persists to do a factory reset, which I thought Sonos no longer recommended. Then I put on music, set sleep timer, and green status lights came back on. This seems like an update caused a problem. Anyone else having this problem? BR
I noticed that playback of apple music atmos tracks sounds great and with a wide soundstage on my single ERA300. Playback of stereo tracks sound much more constrained to the location of the single speaker.I am well aware that true dolby atmos necessitates a surround speaker layout with ceiling speakers. It seems to me it should be possible to upmix stereo signal so that it sounds just as spatial as atmos from a single speaker. The upmixing in both cases is artificial anyways as it only simulates a spatial reproduction. My Denon AVR has plenty of upmixing schemes that I can chose from. Why does sonos not implement a similar upmixing schene?
Hey everyone,I was curious how people usually reorganize or reconnect their Sonos systems after moving furniture around, changing rooms, or relocating equipment during home cleanups or renovations.Do you usually rename speakers and rebuild everything from scratch, or is there a smoother way to manage room changes inside the app?I’ve noticed that larger setup changes can sometimes create confusion with grouping & room organization, especially in multi-room setups.Interested to hear how others here handle it.
Hey there! I have a Sonos Move 2 speaker that worked fine on my Orange Livebox 7's network for almost a year, then started to not be visible anymore in my Sonos app. I reset the device and it managed to join the wifi, but it was never able to be linked my my account. Despite several resets, the operation always failed. I talked with support and they were great. We saw that the setup worked when the speaker was on another Wifi network created with Android's tethering feature. We checked the wifi's Mac filtering settings but it was disabled, and enabling it + adding the speaker's mac address didn't fix anything. In the end, support concluded there was probably an issue with my Livebox. Looking into that hypothesis, I fell upon this discussion: It gave me the necessary pointers to fix the issue (my UI is in Fench, I tried to translate to English):Launch the "Orange and me"/"Orange et moi" app on your phone (the "My Livebox" app was discontinued) Click on "Your Livebox"/"Votre Livebox" Sc
2 feature requests -I use night mode to even out loud and quiet parts during movies so I don’t have to change the volume all of the time. Unfortunately it also seems to turn down low bass volume as well as dynamic range. It’d be great to have an option that keeps the sub untouched. -I’ve noticed music bass levels are much quieter than movies. It’s be great to have sub level separated for tv and music like it is for surrounds. Currently, if I set the level where it’s great for movies, there is very little bass for music (Sub 4)
(I can create them anew and the new ones read the same Amazon files correctly.) It was as though a mysterious virus had swept down on my Sonos system, no idea why. The earlier playlists (many dozens) are still there but the files are all, quote, ”not encoded properly”. Any thoughts/advice much appreciated.(My only Sonos equipment is a ZP80. Running S1 on my Iphone and Imac.)
Can I join my sonos one or a pair of sonos play 1 to my samsung q55 via the Internet that they are both joined to?
Two Gen 1s, for some reason the white one (L) is a lot quieter than the black one (R). No, its not the Balance control. Both are identical hardware revisions. Problem on all types of audio. My third Play:5, which I could use to figure out which one is “wrong”, is 2000 miles away.
Hi, I've had my system since November 2025, and it's worked perfectly until today under the app.For some reason the app cannot see the beam gen2, sub-mini and the era300s.It states the network isn't there, which is nonsense, as i can see the beam logged in with a perfect signal, and my home network is working normally. Of course I can stream from the tv and it works, however the app refuses to see the system, and therefore no control over it, apart from the remote. The app states I should update the network, clearly it's only the app that cannot see the speakers, so why would I need to update the network?Should I just delete and reinstall the app? Any ideas please would be welcomed. Thanks.
Hello! No more Sonos app in the App Store in Switzerland… What happened?
Let me start out by saying I think I have read every possible article related to choppy playback, wifi interference, losing speakers, and best practices. I have been fighting this issue for the better part of a year at this point. From a network standpoint, I have used a single Netgear router with built-in wifi, a Fortinet gateway controlling Fortinet APs, an Amplifi router with a mesh remote, a Deco 3 AP system with both wireless and wired backhaul, and finally I am now on Unifi, with the gateway, switch and wired APs. All have exhibited the same experience where grouping speakers together can take a long time or fail completely. When speakers are grouped, the choppiness happens consistently and most times ends up causing the entire system to stop playing altogether. Now that I am on full Unifi equipment, I have taken care to try to configure it both to Unifi’s best practices and to Sonos’ best practices with no luck. Here are my latest troubleshooting notes.Sonos + UniFi Troubleshoot
Hello All -Surprisingly I have been referred here by the second level support team as they don’t have the answer, neither does the beta test team.I have about 35k tracks in FLAC on my NAS drive. Until a while ago - after the last update but before going down the beta test route - I could right click on the root directory of all the tracks and they’d be added to the queue. It took a little time but it happened. Now it simply tells me that the queue is full even while the “Queue is empty” is showing. If I laboriously add each of the 30-odd subdirectories one by one they are added to the queue no problem, right up to the 35k level.I am using a Mac Mini M4 with Sequoia 15.7.4, 24GB of memory and Sonos S2 17.2.3.Any thoughts out there? (Sonos support have no record of anybody else reporting this problem.)Thanks,Ian.
