In my opinion, a good center speaker is essential for listening to Dolby Atmos material and, in general, for surround sound. Sonos should add speakers on the front to reinforce those frequencies that are noticeably weak compared to the rear Era 300. Listening to music in Dolby Atmos is a pleasure, but in the Sonos configuration I have (Arc Ultra-Sub3-Era 300 x2) it often still loses out to a good stereo system due to this lack of power and definition in the center speaker. Let's get to work, Sonos! Greetings!
Has there been any traction with a party mode or jukebox function within the app?
You can install S2 on Android 8.1 without the Play Store by downloading the APK from a trusted source and enabling "Unknown Sources" in Settings > Security. Then, open the APK file to install it.
Have had Sonos for over 12 years. App and customer service absolutely suck!! All they are concerned with now is selling their b******* services. Any recommendations on the best wireless speakers now? So tired of my playlists disappearing or having to reauthorize my account. Just b*******… isn't even odd to me that they don't bother to respond to all of the criticism and issues we are all having. Just another f*** you, we don't care… Moderator Edit - Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct
Hey everyone! I’ve got a real pickle that maybe someone tech savvy can help me out with. So, I’m currently using Sonos One speakers at my workspace and the speakers are connected to our work wifi and past owner’s email. Thing is, the past owner is no longer in contact and we don’t have access to their email to transfer the account. The iPod we play music from is a 7th gen with software version 15.8.3. The Sonos app version is 16.1. The problem is that we can’t transfer if we don’t update the app to the newest iOS, but bigger problem is that the iPod is on its latest supported iOS and can’t upgrade to anything newer. So, we’re stuck at seemingly impossible crossroad. If anyone has ideas or can help, please do and thank you so much in advance!
The room is not acoustically great (wood floors and brick walls).Am thinking of the arc ultra, sub4, and 2 Era 100’s packagehttps://www.sonos.com/en-us/shop/premium-immersive-set-arc-ultra-sub-era-100-pair-black Question does that sound reasonable? Should I upgrade to the ERA 300? Any thing else I need? TYIA
For the last few weeks I have found that the usually robust playback of shows from BBC sounds has become very erratic.I am using the S1 controller on both android and PC and my system is up to date. When I select a live or recent show to play, more often than not I get one of these error messages:“Unable to play ‘show name’ - the connection was lost’‘Unable to connect to BBC Sounds’‘Unable to add to the queue (error 701)’‘Unable to play the selected item’Sometimes the BBC Sounds stations and shows do not come up “Unable to browse music - there was a problem connecting to BBC Sounds’However after trying a few times it usually starts playing ok, until if I pause or adjust the time position, when again, more often than not one of the above messages stops playback. Nothing has changed in my network configuration, I have tried removing and reauthorising the BBC Sounds service and also different groups and individual speakers but the issue persists and believe it to be an issue with either S
This is an FYI for anyone that is using grandstream wifi access points. I have mine happily working with sonos. I have 5 gwn7664’s that are hardwired to my pfsense firewall/router running in bridge mode. pfsense hands out the ip address. I made 2 changes to the ssid configuration: ssid → edit → advanced:Multicast/Broadcast Suppression: disabledConvert IP multicast to unicast: active mode And now everything works! All sonos speakers are running wirelessly.
I’m enjoying the TV audio swap feature - but when I swap back and forth - the volume on both the headphones and the Beam always reset to some sort of predeterminded default volume setting - 60 for Ace, 15 for Beam. There doesn’t appear to be an app setting to control this, and they don’t stick to the previous settings. Am I mising something? I hope they update the app to support this someday.-Mark
Brand new Sony Bravia KD65X77L I connected my Arc, 100 surrounds and mini, everything was working fine after the normal connection issues were ironed out. Arc connected to earc HDMI and cable box connected to HDMI 1. No sound issues when streaming or casting but when watching cable the sound would cut out at times especially when changing channels. I spoke with Sonos numerous times always changing one setting then testing, nothing worked. I was able to send a diagnostic both when the sound was working and not working. From Sonos I was told I had an, ARC Status: Broadcast Blocked, error. After contacting Sony support I changed some settings and have had no issues so far. Here are the settings that worked.Sonos had originally had me set to Pass Through and Auto neither worked, PCM did.In the lower picture I changed all three settings from Standard to Enhanced. Hope this helps someone
Hoping someone can help.I have 2 x Era 100's as a stereo pair coupled to Sub Mini, I currently subscribe to Spotify as my main streaming service, can any tell me would there be a noticeable difference if I were to a switch to a streaming service offering lossless - hi-res streaming? Spotify have been alluding to a hi res service for years but it still it hasn't materialised so considering the switch.
My bedroom wall is against my neighbor’s wall, which means I can’t turn the music up too loud.I would like to be able to set that speaker to never go above a certain limit, regardless of how the “group” volume goes. In other words, say I want it to max at “11.” If I have all the speakers at, say, “3,” the bedroom plays at 3. If I have all the speakers at “10,” the bedroom is at 10. If I crank the group up to “20,” the bedroom stays at 11. The group goes to “30”? It’s a dance party in the living room, but the bedroom remains at 11.Note this is not at all accomplished with the “percentage” feature.
Other members of my household are finding there are certain features that they cannot use in the Sonos app on their phone unless I provide them my username and password to “Sign in as the System Owner to see this content”. Why must I do this? This is very frustrating. I hope this is a bug because it is poor design otherwise. I want to mention that I am signed into the app on my devices.
Hi Sonos Devs. Thank you for your amazing products and app. I appreciate that I can link my Apple Music account to the Sonos App. A couple things I would love to see, which would elevate my home sound system experience are:adding a Sonos widget to my iPhone/iPad Lock Screens so I can control the music from the Sonos App without unlocking my devices. AirPlay compatibility to stream music in Dolby Atmos. Many thanks.
I have an Arc and a Sub in one of my rooms. I get that the arc connects via 2.4ghz but the Sub is supposed to connect to the ARC via 5G network. However upon talking with tech support, I was told I needed to change settings on my access points due to the ARC needing to create two IP addresses (One for arc and other for Sub). Otherwise I’d have to plug in an old item and use Sonos Net. I was also told moving forward, the Arc Ultra, Era 100 and 300 will no longer have the capabilities to create Sonos Net even with the adapter. So …. Wondering others work arounds or how they were able to get a wireless system to work together wirelessly? Without having to change AP settings?
I’ve bought a Beam 2 and added my existing era100’s and sub mini to create a home theatre. It’s ok with movies but very unnatural with normal TV. Anyone else had this experience?
Hi Anyone else having issues where BBC Sounds keeps going off and not coming back on? I only really use Sonos for the radio and the alarm. I've uninstalled BBC sounds, changed channels in the app, router, uninstalled everything else. Done everything as a standard and nothing is working. Funnily enough, it's been since the app updated on March 3rd and no matter how many times I tell them when I contact support, no one asks me about it..
Advice, anyone? I’ve tried the solutions I’ve found online, but they only work for a few days tops and then I’m back to square one.I have 3 Sonos speakers. The S1 app worked fine for a long time, and suddenly it doesn’t see any products when I open it. So I uninstall, restart my phone, restart the speakers, restart the router, re-install the app, and MAYBE it will work. SOMETIMES, if it wasn’t working before and I go into my mac and start the speakers there, the mobile app will suddenly see it. the alarms aren’t working, the app isn’t working, I can’t manage the alarms, and after uninstalling/reinstalling multiple times and its still not working, I’m pissed. I can’t connect my spotify or anything else to the speakers via bluetooth, which I used to be able to. Sound just doesn’t come out. But if I just walk up to the speakers and press play, they’ll play the last thing I was listening to. I’m so done. I spent so much money on this system and less than 3 years later it’s frickin

Back again with yet another Sonos issue that frankly shouldn’t be an issue I have three Sonos products: Era 100, Beam and recently, (which frankly was a mistake investing more money in this product), Roam 2. Someone please enlighten me why I’m able to use voice command on any speaker to set the volume of individual speakers but I cannot set my volume for my Roam 2 with voice command whatsoever. For example, I can tell my Era 100 to set the Beam volume to 5, I can tell my Beam to set the volume to 10, but I cannot tell my Roam 2 to change the volume of my Beam OR Era 100 OR even Roam 2, nor can I tell my Beam OR Era 100 to set the volume of my Roam 2. Any time I try to change the volume of my Roam 2, it changes the volume in ALL my speakers. Like this is honestly ridiculous. It’s the same software. How hard can it truly be to have it consistent across all the speakers? Sonos’ whole shtick is “grouping speakers” but they literally took this to a fault. I should be able to control individ
Is it normal that if I try to Airplay 2 from Macbook Pro apple music app to multiple devices, those from SONOS often failed to sync well or just wont sync together. All my others airplay devices are rock solid on Airplay 2 from my Macbook but not the Sonos… I know that if I use the Sonos app to sync them together after having start the stream from Apple Music to only one Sonos device, it will work fine but I find this step very unpleasant because i need to do it a lot of time in a day…Is there a fix on the way? All me devices are hardwired. I’m trying to solve this problem since 2 years now XD.Thanks a lot,
Hello everyone, I am a 21 year old business school French student and I am looking for someone to interview about his/her experience about the era 300. It will be perfectly confidential and anonymous and it will last maximum 20 minutes.Send me a message if you are interested it would help me a lot.Moderator edit: We recommend being wary of sharing your private info online.
I recently purchased a Sonos Beam 2 to pair with a new TV (Hisense U8N). Set up went fine (connected via HDMI to eARC), and the product sounds great. However, previous speakers I had were better able to produce crisp dialogue, and I was hoping that the Speech Enhancement feature would be able to produce something along those lines. However, I am able to discern absolutely no audible impact when I toggle the Speech Enhancement feature on and off. Is this normal? I don’t have a great sense for how apparent the impact should be. Again, based on prior experience, my assumption was that it would be audibly apparent when flipping it on and off, but it is not. I’ve tried this across a variety of different audio sources, including cable TV, Netflix, Apple TV, etc.I spent about 2.5 hours on the phone with Sonos support, submitting diagnostics, unplugging and replugging everything, doing a factory reset, deleting the app, etc. Have tried all apparent combos of Speech Enhancement with/without Night
It has been almost a year and this new app is unusable. The other one worked great, but was forced to upgrade when I made the dire mistake of buying more. I’ve gotten rid of a few speakers because it wouldn’t be compatible with the new app which cost me money. I have nine speakers right now and two of them work all the time, the rest on and I’ve tried many times to hook them to the same network, etc. Been through it. When is anybody going to be accountable at Sonos. Firing people doesn’t help all of us. Fix it or pay people back.
