Ace TV Swap w/Beam (Gen 1) - Default Volume Settings?

I’m enjoying the TV audio swap feature - but when I swap back and forth - the volume on both the headphones and the Beam always reset to some sort of predeterminded default volume setting - 60 for Ace, 15 for Beam.  There doesn’t appear to be an app setting to control this, and they don’t stick to the previous settings. Am I mising something?   I hope they update the app to support this someday.

@Mark_225

I can confirm what you described. But imo that is made by design and a feature to set an average volume when using tv audio swap. To keep the same level wouldn’t make sense, because for Ace and the soundbar the same level sound quite different. And to keep the levels separately for both might be a technical problem. Not sure at all, but for me the current solution works fine.

It resets the sound too loud on both devices for me - but I can see why my request probably isn’t achievable, particularly when I’m not using the app to swap the sound. -Mark

I'm experiencing this issue as well: it doesn't matter which level the Beam or the ARC is on when switching. Somehow there is, exactly as you describe, some kind of predetermined volume level that kicks in. Can't seem to find a setting either to change the behavior.

Pls @SONOS : fix this by either maintain the level that is used in the speaker or let us adjust the predetermined volume in a setting for the ACE headphones.

I have the same issue.

The Sonos Ace auto set volume to 60 every time I connect with TV Audio Swap.

It’s always too loud and I have to tuen it down each time. It’s painful when I forget.

Is there no way for the user to select a volume and save it?

If nothing else, would it not be safer to set it lower and have to increase the volume?

The same issue.

Since using the headphones at night not to disturb others, really not nice to get to level 15 when switching back. I tried to use the mute button before switching back, but it unmutes during the switch.

@SONOS , I can see when switching from headphones to Beam in the app, it already today remembers the last volume level (and even allows to change it). I would suggest to use the saved last volume level when switching back by tv swap as well, it would be an expected behavior.

There might be other solutions to the issue as allowing to set 'volume level after the tv swap' for both headphones and Beam.

Looking forward to an upgrade addressing in some way.

You could turn off your TV before swapping back to the soundbar as a work around.

Thanks for the tip! It will work as a workaround. Still, I believe a more intuitive solution could be implemented for such a premium product. Relying on the standard helpdesk advice to 'switch it off and on' feels a bit underwhelming. :-)

Adding that I agree the Ace is way too loud after the swap and I always have to turn it way down. And also find it annoying to have to turn down the beam when I switch back - also because my use case is night watching without disturbing sleeping children
