Hey all, I don’t know enough to know what I don’t know. Looking for other people’s thoughts. For years, we lived off a 2.1 system. This last December, we bought an Arc Ultra. No bass, no side speakers yet. When I play native Dolby Atmos audio - ie, modern movies and games with it as the original mix - the sound is stone cold amazing. Absolutely mind blowing. And on stereo, in sounds fine. It sounds like stereo. Not great, just fine, like you’d expect. But when it tries to output 5.1 sound or plays old 5.1 movies remixed as Atmos, it just sounds off, like it actively does not use all the speakers in the bar, or puts things out to the upward speakers when those aren’t part of the 5.1 track. …. Again, I don’t know what I don’t know here, sadly. Is this a common problem? Is there a way to fix this? Do I need side speakers for the 5.1 experience? Did Atmos just spoil me immediately?
I just bought my first Sonos product and I have to say, so far it’s been underwhelming.I have my Sonos Five in my living room and it’s just not loud enough. Anything below 50% is ridiculously low and I was surprised I could even push it to 100% without being blown away. It’s loud, but not so loud that 100% becomes as unbearable as one would expect.I don’t have volume limit on. I did the truesound thing and volume is pushed to max on my Spotify app as well as on my phone.I’ve googled a bit and this doesn’t seem to be a very uncommon issue people experience. Some say already at 50% it’s really loud and others say they have to crank it like I do to even get loudness from it.Not sure what to expect here. How do I know if I have a defect unit?
Recently purchased a set of ERA100 floor stands but had a real issue with the build. The kit comes with four M5 long screws that were too long to fit securely through the base and into the poles. My build issues continued when one screw got stuck and I had to drill it out and retap the pole with an m6 thread. I cut about a quarter inch of the other 3 long bolts and that did the trick. Good secure fixture top and bottom. The issue as I see it is either the build needs shorter M5 screws or longer threaded receptacles in the poles. My advice would be make sure the long screws go all the way into the poles before you start the build.
Why is the App that was changed absolutely dire. It’s that bad these speakers are getting launched and I’m going to another speaker
Merci ! Moderator Note: Google Translate- Hello,I've had a Sonos system with two Era speakers, a Beam soundbar, and a subwoofer (home theater package) for years.I can never play music from my Android phone if
When do Sonos release a controller for Galaxy watch? Anyone heard anything?
Hello Sonos Community. Thanks for sticking around if you are patient, this seems to be a strange one . . .I am having a heck of a time getting an ARC/SUB/AMP configuration to be adjustable and tweakable the way it should. I have added the Amp as Surround and Sub to the ARC configuration in a single room. The amp feeds 4 ceiling speakers that sound great. The sub kicks in. The True Sound applet runs and sends its pink noise everywhere and sounds great. The issue is that True Surround gives a super heavy front surround mix out of the gate, and there is no way to manually pump up the Surrounds (AMP and 4 speakers) or Sub. There is a section to adjust these and the sliders do absolutely nothing. The ARC User Guide itself says that these adjustments are possible, and I quote:https://www.sonos.com/en-us/guides/arcSurround audio settingsDuring setup, surround sound is optimized for your room. These settings are adjustable: Surrounds Turn surround sound On or Off. TV Le
Hi I have not been able to play one of my usual stations since the Autumn that is on Tunein. A quick search on here lead me so multiple posts on here talking about the SONOS app update at the time and one poster helpfully quoted below comment form SONOS explaining the issue was due to some stations having geographical restrictions??”We are aware of there being issues with certain radio stations not working, due to geographical stream locks. We are looking into it and we will provide updates as soon as we have any.”Has anyone heard if there is an update on this? I have deleted the stations from my favourites - deleting and reinstalling the Tune in App and the SONOS app, resetting my broadband etc - everything I could think of - to no avail. Im in the UK and that stations I’m most bothered about is just my local town community station. Whenever I try to play it - I get the Welcome to Tune in opening and then one advert - then nothing - until that loops and play again. Can anyone hel
Have an old Play:5 that I control using the S1 app from my iPhone SE3 (latest version 11.5.2). My wife would like to be able to control it from her phone too, so we installed the latest Sonos S1 app on her iPhone 16. No matter what I’ve tried, the app on her phone cannot find the Play:5, despite my phone seeing it fine.Tried all the usual stuff re-installing, double checking we are all on the same wifi network etc. But nothing. Seems really strange, what’s going on?
Your product is absolut trash. Spent 3 days trying to connect the sub mini to my beam. Packing it up and returning. Product is trash, customer service is trash, support is trash(spent 2 1/2 hours with them) and the company is trash.Should have listened to all the bad reviews. I have done all your steps at least 20 times. I have a Bose system in my living room and it literally took 10 minutes to get it up and running. Will never recommend this product to any one of my customers. Thanks for nothing. Sent from my iPhone On Mar 25, 2025, at 6:23 PM, Sonos Support <support@sonos.com> wrote:
As my patience for sonos is running thin and this latest issue has me in a melt down. Looking for some feedback/therapy lol. SonosNet will stay as my primary connection as I still believe it to be for less problematic then random wifi and Sonos’s new tech support stance of blaming our routers and not helping. after the last update my boost is hardwired and shows as connected but no speakers are connected. If I hardwire any one speaker they all show up. I tried resetting the boost and adding it again and though it shows up on the device list, as soon as I unplug the Ethernet from the speaker the devices all vanish except for then boost. In the years of circumventing issues I’ve never seen this one. Sonos advice was I need to reset my entire system. I started with easy to access speakers but they will not add to the boost based system. Any thoughts?
2 amps show on the app w the sound slider grayes out and no sound coming out. How do I fix this ?
My current setup is Play Bar, Sonos One, and Sonos One SL as rear. (Previous 2 Sonos One but I do not need 2 voice control in the same room, and same issue before switching too)Network setup is Eero 6 mesh, and TV is LG 75UK6190PUB. Currently no devices are connected via Ethernet, as Sonosnet was awful in a multi dwelling apartment where Wifi is VERY saturated. (With sonosnet half of my speakers are always offline… I have concrete walls in my apartment and Sonosnet was just not penetrating no matter how many nodes we add. For context, I had bought 2 Sonos Boost to no effect whatsoever) When watching anything in Dolby Digital 5.1, the surround system goes awry in a few minutes - Playbar and Rear are still in sync but sound is stuttered. Resetting the TV (unplugging from wall) seems to be the only fix. But problem usually comes back within the next 10 minutes. Are there any fix?
I’d like to restart the conversation about adding the ability to pair two sub mini’s in the same system.About a year ago, a Sonos rep replied to one of the many closed threads about this that it ‘could’ happen, but he wouldn’t confirm.I’d like to cast my vote for what should be a fairly simple thing for Sonos to do (since they already have this feature with the subs gen 3/4). I have a small condo and personally prefer the tighter sound of the sub mini, but would just like to have another to spread the bass more evenly throughout my living roomAnyway, I hope Sonos has this on the table as a feature they might add. It’s basically money I’m ready to spend that’s being left on the table for no other reason than Sonos seems to want to arbitrarily limit this product.
It seems there are still people with music libraries that have suffered at the hands of Sonos and their horrible decision to remove library support. Also, even when it did work on the old app you couldn't do basic things like sort by band name and album name. So if it helps, here is how I solved the issue. Firstly, forget the app. Other than adjusting sub volume or surround speaker volume I never touch it. So, purchase the app USB Audio Pro. This app is designed to fix the Android issue of resampling 44.1 to 48. Then purchase the USB Audio Pro add-on for UPNP. In the app go to "Cast" and you will see a list of available devices, including UPNP. That is it. Now I can play my 1tb of music from my phone or my 1Tb of music from my Fiio Audio player.
Salve, collegandomi in smartview/mirroring con il mio smartphone non sento l'audio dei video riprodotti sulla TV. Potete aiutarmi? Il resto funziona tutto Moderator edit:Google Translate-Hi, when I connect to smartview/mirroring with my smartphone I don't hear the audio of the videos played on the TV. Can you help me? Everything else works fine
I’ve been a Sonos customer since 2009 so have been through many iterations of the platform and app.As a legacy customer, this also means I have the (unfortunate) situation of continuing to use both the S1 and S2 app - although this gives me an interesting view into the failings of the new app.Two very quick suggestions for today for the S2 app on iPhone, both related to volume:The old app and the S1 app allow you to nudge the volume up and down using the volume control of the iPhone. This functionality has been removed in the S2 app. Please bring it back. It allows for far more sensitivity versus trying to move a touchscreen slider Can the volume control be recalibrated so it is not linear? The reason I ask is I have an Era300 in my office. It has a great sound, but most of the time it is playing in the background so I can work. As a result the volume is around 10-15 - which is RIGHT at the bottom of the slider, making it difficult to control with minimal movement available. I very rar
Hello everyone!I have to ask you a suggestion for the placement of the Sonos product in my room:In the image in red you have the soundbar and the subwoofer, is ok the position? The two other era (100 or 300 i don’t know yet) where i have to put it ideally? i would like not to put it on the wall behind the sofa, if it is possible, otherwise no problem i have to do a little work on the wall. Thanks a lot for a reply!
Just to reiterate that there is still an issue streaming SiriusXM without encountering drop outs. Some times it takes a few hours, sometimes it is less. The issue ONLY occurs with SiriusXM. The issue is not related to anything in our Sonos ecosystem or network. This has been confirmed. We have been in talks with Sonos dealer technical support (we are Sonos dealers and custom integrators) for almost a year, throughout which we have gone deep into diagnostics, made significant changes to our Sonos ecosystem and network, but the issue persists. The only solution is stopping the stream, waiting for ~ 30 seconds, then starting it back up. The issue is resolved temporarily than comes back.Sonos ultimately threw up their hands and deemed the issue on SiriusXM’s side stating that the encoding method of the SiriusXM stream is incompatible/too high of a bitrate for the Sonos ecosystem to be able to keep up with. We looked at multiple streaming service encoding formats via diagnostics and Sirius’s
I keep "loosing" my Arc Ultra that has 2 x Symfonisk and a Sub Mini that make the surround sound. I have rebooted the WIFI and it sometimes kicks in. I have disconnected them and connected at least 3 times and getting tired of it. Any ideas on getting in more stable or just an on going work at Sonos?
This might be a feature request that would improve usability of the Sonos system. When you have grouped some Sonos speakers and the TV is in this group I would like to adjust the volume of the group using the TV remote including muting. Scenario is when a phone call comes in or similar case when you need to mute or adjust volume level instantly.Technically this should be feasible because right now the TV remote controls all 5.1 speakers through HDMI ARC. And the Sonos system knows which speakers are grouped together. Volume adjustment when using the remote should be the same when adjusting the group volume bar in the App. Of course this feature should be optional managed in settings.
I recently tried to use Apple Music with Sonos and learned SONOS won’t import any files that aer mp4 and those files can't be converted. I have a lot of music I own and want to be able to use a streaming service to augment what I have. (I want playlists that have both my own music as well as music from a streaming service). So I googled Amazon Unlimited and it sounds like this might have fewer restrictions. IIs it possible to download music via Amazon Unlimited, import everything to SONOS such that I can listen to both my music and downloaded music in playlists I’ve created? I don’t want to go through Alexa and I DO want to mix and match what I’m listening to. (My SONOS speakers are old and do not support streaming to them directly from for example iTunes). If Amazon Music Unlimited has the same challenge that Apple Music has is there a streaming service that does work this way?
I've a Sonos Move and from yesterday evening the MIC light it's turned on and I cannot do anything. I try to reset but nothing is working. Any solutions?
My system (still S1) has been set up with some kind of workaround to receive Patreon-only content from a podcast in a direct stream, in addition to the podcast's public content. I let Patreon lapse for a month, and now the workaround isn't working and I can’t find the directions I used before. Does anyone recognize this process enough to help me get that member-only stream back into Sonos? TIA!I should add that I don’t subscribe to streaming services (Spotify, Amazon Music, etc) so that’s why I’m looking for the process to add a direct stream.p.s. Pardon the typo in the subject line. :D
I would like to see the lyrics while I’m playing a song in my Sonos app. Normally I use Spotify. is it possible?
