Question

Home Theatre set up

Hello everyone!

I have to ask you a suggestion for the placement of the Sonos product in my room:

In the image in red you have the soundbar and the subwoofer, is ok the position?

The two other era (100 or 300 i don’t know yet) where i have to put it ideally? i would like not to put it on the wall behind the sofa, if it is possible, otherwise no problem i have to do a little work on the wall.

Thanks a lot for a reply!

Hi @edocsc

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

First, that position for the Sub will be fine. Bass is difficult to locate, so Subs can be placed just about anywhere in a room.

Rear surrounds should ideally be placed roughly at head height, behind and equidistant from the ideal listening/viewing position wherever possible. So, yes, behind the sofa, I am afraid! It is best to have the rears a distance behind the listener, but you are limited in this respect - you may want to pull the sofa forward a smidgen.

I hope this helps.

Enjoy!

Thanks a lot! The rear surrounds is ok to place it on the corners?

Hi @edocsc

If you mean the corner of the walls to the extreme left of the sofa, I would say you’d be better served if it were at the left end of the sofa instead.

I hope this helps.

Ok thanks! In the right corner is it not a problem if the surround has no space on the right? I read that ideally a distance of 20 cm is needed but I would have them right in the middle of the wall...

Hi @edocsc

I don’t think you're going to be able to get the “ideal” positioning - you can only work with what you have. The right corner is the right corner, really, unless you decide to relocate the TV (though it looks like the windows would make that tricky).

You won’t want to have any speakers in the middle of the back wall, if that is what you are asking?

Yes exactly, I would place them in the corners of the wall on the side of the sofa, the left one is not exactly centered. I will place the left one maybe higher up

Hi @edocsc

Words don’t see to be working 😂

I’d put them in the positions marked:

You don’t want them so low that you bump your head on them when you sit down, but you also don’t want them any higher than the lowest position where that will not be a problem.

I’d have them both at the same height as each other.

I hope this helps.
