Troubleshoot, tune and get the most out of your system

I just purchased a Sonos Five and Sonos Roam 2 to cover a room in my house. These are added to my collection/setup of other Sonos devices. The cool feature incorporated with the Roam 2 is the ability for it to act like as a Bluetooth bridge/port. This feature works great with the Sonos Five, which I created a group for together with the Roam 2 through the app. The only thing is, whenever you connect to the Roam via Bluetooth, you have to keep checking the five in the app each time you connect to allow the synced Bluetooth sound. Now I noticed that the group function works very nicely where I can hold the play button manually on the five and it automatically plays whatever my roam is playing via Bluetooth since they are in a already created group in my Sonos system. The same does not seem to be the case when music is playing via Bluetooth on the roam but holding the play button on the roam instead of the five does not automatically have my five activate in the group and sync the sound.
I assume I'm not the only one having issues with the latest app version which when switching rooms or adding a room to the current music playing a few seconds in at least one of the speakers starts playing digitized sound that is horrendous? I have to quickly skop to the next song in fear the speaker is going to get damaged.
Hi!Mac Mini user (Sonoma 14.0) here with a Sonos app. I know all about the problems with the Sonos music library feature from last year’s update, but I have been using the workaround of creating a library by adding the music share as a NAS /network share. Yesterday, however, I started having problems with the library. All the songs disappeared, so I couldn’t search. But, in Music Library Settings, the shared folder was still present. ‘Update Music Library Now’ ran for a second, but the library was still empty. I removed the shared folder and added it back again, using the NAS-workaround, but kept getting the error: Sonos was unable to add the music folder. Access to the shared folder is denied, check user name and/or password. Deleted the Sonos app and restarted my computer several times, to no avail. I also tried adding the folder via the iPhone app, but got the error message: //<Computer name>/<Folder name> is no longer available. I deleted the Sonos app from my iPhone an
In the S2 Desktop app, Deezer’s Recently Played container does not enumerate (“unable to browse music”).(Note: for this to even show up you need to have played a track from the actual Deezer app).In a curious chain of events, this does work in the mobile controller, just desktop is broken.
I just want to announced that this 4year old problem has been solved and fixed! I’ve been doing a lot of readings and following all the instructions given but still don't have luck, until last Saturday, since im not using ittried opening and foundd out on the top part there is a ribbon like connected. From the top going to the drain system. Then VOILA!
I have a question about the Sonos amp. I have the Sonance Mag 6.1 outdoor speaker system. My question is the volume has to be turned up quite high, like to 60 plus or higher. Is this normal or do I have a problem. I use the Sonos app through Android. Thank you
Just flagging what I believe is a bug, using iOS app latest version (but this has existed for many months AFAICT).I tried hardwiring one of my Five speakers at some point last year. I ran into issues, probably caused by a smart switch in dumb mode, and quickly gave up.Since then, with no products hardwired, I have had the ability to edit SonosNet settings which according to the docs linked below shouldn’t be possible:“If all your Sonos products connect to your WiFi network, the SonosNet Channel will appear grayed-out in the Sonos app and cannot be changed.”https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/change-your-sonos-system-s-wireless-channelSee screenshots below of persistent changes made to these settings:

Hi Sonos CommunityI’m a newbie and would like some help pls.Context: For music I have a pair of Era 300s and Sub gen 3. I have a large open plan “L” shaped living/dining/kitchen. The Dining is in the middle module of the “L” and has a high 4.8m ceiling. But the two arms of the “L” have only 2.4m ceilings. I am thinking of wall mounting the ERAs on the outer dining room wall(left side of pic) which will project music across the dining area and into the kitchen. They would be mounted about 2.2m up the wall; immediately above the curtains which is the only available space.Problem: I am worried that in this location too much sound from the upward firing speakers will go up into high ceiling void and become lost. To void this, is inverting the ERAs a good idea or not? Can I get an after-market cord that will go this far up the wall as Sonos seem to offer only lesser lengths? Or, is my suggested location a dud idea - I am also quite open to other suggestions?I have read quite a bit
I have used Sirrius on my Sonos for years. Suddenly I see the channels but when I tap on one, nothing happens. Has been going on for about 3 months. Have tried all the steps including deleting and reauthorizing but not working. Anyone else having this issue and how to resolve?
Like a lot of other people I lost the ability to play my music files on Sonos. I have read many posts about this but nothing in them works. I tried to follow the “checklist” that was somewhere on the community forum to reestablish connection but it says to do things that are not possible options on my computer. I have spent a lot of time several times with the customer help department reinstalling the app and checking firewalls but nothing works. About ten years ago I could click a couple of times on my phone app and play whatever was in my music folders when ever I wanted. That option has been taken away for some unknown reason with the so-called “upgrade” over a year ago. I cannot understand why Sonos can’t reestablish the ability to play from our computers. I have a lot of older format music on mine that does not play on newer devices. I would be happy just to have the ability to play my music on the Sonos system. I tired importing some of it to playlists in Sonos and that doesn’t w
I am trying to search on Bandcamp for music, but nothing returns (ever). This used to work. I have done the following to troubleshoot:Re-authorized my band camp account. I have tried this both from windows app, as well as android app I have made sure my address is correct under my Sonos profile on www.sonos.com.All other services seem to show results for searches but Bandcamp. Spotify, Tidal, Amazon, Sonos, Pandora… all work.
Says I’m not the owner, IVE DONE NEARLY EVERYTHING, reset, app delete, Sonos has to continue to login at ever step very frustrated this going on 2 hours
My Beam suddenly stopped working after 16 months and now only blinks white. I tried hard resetting and connecting directly to the internet. I called customer support and tried all of the suggested trouble shooting sets they provided. They sent me to Sonos Customer Experience which sent me an email offering to give me 30% off discount for sending back the equipment. Has anybody else had this issue and were you able to either fix the problem or get Sonos to replace the broken unit? I feel like the product should last more than 16 months and also feel like the solution from Sonos should be better than me sending back the unit so that they can refurbish and sell again and only giving a 30% off discount for a defective device.
I have a Arc Ultra soundbar, a Sub 4, and an Amp driving two wired in-ceiling speakers in addition to a Samsung TV with HDMI ARC. The soundbar, subwoofer and amp can be connected via WIFI. Ideally I would like that the soundbar, the subwoofer and the in-ceiling speakers all be active whenever I turn the system on to watch TV or listen to music. Is there an ideal connection or order of component installation to make this process seamless and intuitive? I'd like to make this as simple as possible in the event that family members want to use the system and not have to learn any complicated sequencing in order to make it work. Thanks in advance.
App finds system containing One SL but can't join.
FEATURE REQUEST: Add option to enable "Center speakers" for the ERA's 300, if they are added as surrounds.i saw some threads...but no news about that.Any information?Regards
For some reason I lost all power to my Sonos system. had to unplug it and wait for 10 second to get it to work. why would this happen. It’s a brand new system
Hi there,I’m seeking guidance on Trueplay tuning. In my large music/entertainment (rectangular) room, I have the following setup across the room length:2x Era 300s stereo pair + Sub Gen 3 and on the opposite end, 1x Era 300 + Sub MiniI have Trueplay tuned each group separately. For optimal performance, do I need to Trueplay each speaker before grouping or is it ok that I Trueplay tuned each group? Thanks,V
After spending hours in a loop of re-authorise / log into your Sonos account misery I resorted to deleting Sonos and ITunes apps from my phone (iPhone 15) / reset my Sonos speakers and started over. I downloaded the Sonos app, connected the speakers and then the WiFi. I was then able to add back my iTunes account. It took 15 minutes!I couldn’t find any helpful suggestions online so resorted to a complete reset - it worked but surely shouldn’t be this hard!
I Have in my house 7 products1xS1 in kitchen Sonos surround in living (beam, 2x s3)2 S1 in bedroom1 roamonce adjusted it works all fine but when startup the app it always play the kitchen s1, very annoying every time find livingroom activate that set and shut off kitchen.is there a way to give livingroom priority at startup
I have seen a few posts in this forum where people ask about why the Android app requires “precise location” permission in order to connect to a Sonos system. Like many of these commenters, I see no obvious reason why Sonos would require “precise location” and urge Sonos to remove this requirement. Perhaps it is needed because there have been changes to Android APIs in recent versions of Android, and Google is somehow coercing Sonos to implement what appears to be a dark pattern on their users. If that is the case, fine, but Sonos should post a FAQ somewhere explaining precisely and in detail why this happens. Otherwise, this just makes Sonos look like a company that collects and resells location data. Perhaps they are? I don’t think so. If not, they need to make it VERY CLEAR.All of that said, I do want to mention something that might explain what Sonos is actually doing with precise location to benefit their users. I have a Sonos S1 system and just got a new phone. I connected my pho
Hi there!I’m new to Sonos and have my system for a few days now. I use an Arc Ultra with Era 100 as surround and Sub 4. The Arc Ultra is connected to the Sony TV via HDMI eArc. A Fire TV Stick 4K is connected directly to the TV HDMI-In without any adapters. The following problem: The Arc Ultra somehow seems to interfere with the signal from the Fire TV Stick remote control and also the TV control. When the Arc Ultra is connected, you have to hold the remote control extremely close and very directly to the TV or soundbar to switch the TV on and change the volume, otherwise nothing happens. The navigation buttons up/down/left/right, on the other hand, work instead well and theoretically also much further away / in another room – really strange. The Arc Ultra is located around 15cmin in front of the TV. I’m sitting 2.5 meters in front of the TV. The “Use IR” and “IR Repeat” settings are activated in the home theater settings in Sonos App. I had already turned it off once as a test, but that
HelloThe Sonos App refresh in May 2024 brought significant changes/improvements relating to App Navigation or User Interface (UI) . Granted “improvements” may be debatable depending upon your then and now comfort level to proficiently navigate the App. This Tutorial is not about missing features; which to date are few compared to almost a year ago, but more about App UI (as was stated at the beginning). Disclaimer: This is a community member authored tutorial. This is not an official Sonos authored tutorial/document; nor is it supported by Sonos Customer Service and/or Tech Support. Selecting a room other than what is showing in the “Now Playing” section at the bottom of the App upon opening is not as difficult as you might think or have experienced. Here’s how it’s done in 4 easy steps without stopping the activity in another room.In Image # 1 below you see that the room “TV” is in the “Now Playing” box at the bottom circled in Red. At the top you see the “Drop Down” arrow circle
