Beam Gen 2 Blinking White Light

My Beam suddenly stopped working after 16 months and now only blinks white. I tried hard resetting and connecting directly to the internet. I called customer support and tried all of the suggested trouble shooting sets they provided. They sent me to Sonos Customer Experience which sent me an email offering to give me 30% off discount for sending back the equipment. Has anybody else had this issue and were you able to either fix the problem or get Sonos to replace the broken unit? 

I feel like the product should last more than 16 months and also feel like the solution from Sonos should be better than me sending back the unit so that they can refurbish and sell again and only giving a 30% off discount for a defective device.

Were you misled about the warranty period when you purchased the item?  Can you name another company which gives you a 30% discount on an item which is out of warranty?
