I’m sure there are a ton of conversations on this forum already about the inability to stereo pair Sonos speakers while traveling. I’m presently traveling and can’t use 2 of my Sonos speakers for stereo sound while browsing my computer on top of my bed. And so that’s why I’m here writing to this forum. In the past I’ve shrugged this off, but this scenario keeps coming up over and over any time I go traveling. Hotels and AirBnBs, camp sites, a friend’s house... I’m not there long enough where it’s worth going through the trouble of migrating all my devices over to a temporary wifi network. The process is not quick at all, riddled with obscure timeouts, and when I do it once to connect to the temporary network, I then have to do it again to pair back to my home network. Very cumbersome. My understanding is that Sonos already has “SonosNet”, a separate WiFi network from the home internet that coordinates all the speakers. If my understanding is correct, that means that Sonos speakers have
Hi, I find it impossible to add my Play:1 to a new network or system. I factory reset the speaker. The setup in the app works smooth: It finds the speaker, recognizes the audio PIN, and even prompts for the wifi name and password. However after copy+pasting (!) the password it always returns the same communication error message:> Your mobile device couldn’t communicate with your Play:1. Check your network connection and try again later.I’ve been now through the millionth factory reset and setup process in the last week. I uninstalled the (new) Sonos App and restarted the phone. I restarted the router. Nothing helped. The speaker works fine if wired though. And I can setup a new system and add a Sonos One SL easily. But it’s the Play:1 that drives me crazy. It worked though before I moved and I am now wondering if the last setup was done with the old app and whether it’s a problem of the new Sonos App.Sonos App Info: 80.21.3-release+20250516.6a59431 Setup process Sonos Play:1
My Era100 is emitting a consistent-frequency noise. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thank you!Video:https://drive.google.com/file/d/1REVL7dCCu3ai-86W2uZkV4t8CFLY6ZqJ/view?usp=drivesdk
Where to start? This is an example of what can happen.Let’s say I want to play ‘Strange Brew’ by ‘Cream’ from an Album called ‘Disraeli Gears’. The Disraeli Gears album is in a folder called Cream which is in a main folder called ‘Albums’.To start with the metatags are populated for ‘Track Name’ ‘Artist’, and Album Name. (and others but they don’t count). If I play the track on my Windows 11 laptop with only those tags, the data on screen shows the Track Name, ‘01 Strange Brew’ (Track 1), the Artist, ‘Cream’, and the Album, ‘Disraeli Gears’. No problems there! If I play the track on my Android phone, by selecting my Albums as my source folder, and then selecting Play Now to play all tracks, the data on the screen shows ‘Albums’, Cream, Albums. This is not right. Why doesn’t it show the Track Name and the Album Name?If I enter the Track Name in the ‘Titles’ metatags, Android will display ‘Strange Brew’, ‘Cream’ , ‘Albums’. But the Album Name is not read.In order to get Sonos to read the
I know this might be a me problem but…The Sonos ace is ridiculously loud! Just test it out, play music on full without it on your head and it's like a speaker!I always have it turned down low but find myself creeping the volume up when a good song comes on or I want to hear more bass, and then I take them off and they are really loud to the point where I wonder if they are damaging my ears.Is there no way to limit the volume like we can on other Sonos speakers? Or perhaps an android app that could help?
Hello!I'm trying again to get some help here in the forum and solve an ‘age-old’ problem.I have PLEX installed on my Synology 718+ (16 GB).The home network is connected to the internet at 1 Gbit (FRITZ!box 5530 fiber).PLEX plays without any problems:On the home network, also via SONOS (PLEX service) In the car with my mobile phone via the Plexamp app In the office with my mobile phone via the Plexamp app (Wi-Fi) In the office with my laptop using the web application.PLEX does not play outside the home network via SONOS.All content is displayed. When trying to play individual songs or albums, the following happens:First, the circle on the right spins for a relatively long time Then the message ‘SONG’ could not be played appears. The connection to Plex has been lost. This repeats for each selected song.It doesn't matter whether I play FLAC or MP3.I contacted SONOS Support. A support technician even looked at it via remote maintenance. No solution in sight. What could be the reason for thi
Guys, the compilation albums in my music library still show up as individual tracks in the iOS app - this means I can’t select & listen to these albums. My FLACs are all tagged properly, and compilation albums worked perfectly before the release of the ‘updated’ app last year.My music is all in one folder, so I can’t use folders as a workaround, either.Everything’s up to date.Is this still a known issue, and if so, when can we expect a fix, please?
I am interested in Sonos sequencer. What’s the verdict? Yes? Or no?
anyone else experiencing an issue with their Sonos products as well as the current outage?
I’m playing a few movies via Infuse Pro on my Apple TV, but for some reason (and only recently) when Dolby Atmos is enabled, I’m getting all of the speech (from I assume the centre channel) coming through the rear speakers. I’ve put my head to my Arc soundbar and can’t hear anything. It’s all coming from the rears. (Play 1s)It doesn’t seem to affect all movies - I have a few in Atmos that are fine - but a bunch of older movies (2009-2015) that have DDP Atmos 5.1 are consistently affected. I’ve compared one that works versus one that doesn’t in Mediainfo and they seem identical!AudioID : 2Format : E-AC-3 JOCFormat/Info : Enhanced AC-3 with Joint Object CodingCommercial name : Dolby Digital Plus with Dolby AtmosCodec ID : A_EAC3Channel(s) : 6 channelsChannel layout : L R C LFE
Wtf is up with Sonos? Yeah there sound system is decent at best but you can’t f***ing play Apple Music without signing in to your own f***ing account 17 f***ing times. What the f*** is going on you stupid motherf***ers. Figure it the f*** out you incompetent POS. I could take a coding class 101 and would still know more than these [redacted] trying to work a simple app. JC I’m disappointed. My wife and I both control the same system using the Sonos App on our iPhones. Most of our music lives on a network attached disk - and appears as a Sonos Music Library. We often select albums from the ‘recently played’ list on the app. Until about a month ago we had no problems. But now, items on the Recently Played list that were created by my wife are broken if I select them from my phone. I get a grey icon instead of album art, and a message saying “Content Unavailable”. The opposite happens when my wife selects something that I played last. This renders the ‘Recently Played’ list completely useless. 50% of the entries cause errors and you can’t tell which. It’s like a bad version of Russian Roulette. I have tried clearing the list, rescanning my music library, restarting the app, power cycling everyhing. Still broken. Does this happen for other people? Is there any fix?
Dear all Just ordered four Era 100 devices and quickly detected the issue, that the Alexa voice is compared to played music way too loud. I don’t see any option to reduce specifically Alexa voice, also reading of a bunch of issues in this forum - but mostly years ago and seemed to be fixed. Any idea how to fix this? Otherwise need to return the order. Much appreciated,Marco
Just installed latest app on android and am unable to find tone controls, I keep reading 'navigate to settings-system-product' but there is no 'system' option in settings
I have several music apps all of them work fine with Sonos except Amazon music. It works fine for a minute or two and indifferent speakers keep shutting down and then popping back on. Does anybody have a solution?
I am finishing my basement which will have a gym and a rec room. i have purchased 8 8” in ceiiling speakers and 4 amps. I plan to have 2 amps in a closet next to the rec room and 2 amps in the gym. I plan to have 4 speakers in the rec room and 4 speakers in the gym. The gym will have an ARC capable TV.How should I run the wires?Should I set all the speakers to mono?Any other equipment is recommended?
Constant error messages on S1 listening to siriusxmUnable to play 'song' - the connection to SiriusXM was lost.Unable to browse music Anyone ever find a solution?
Hello Sonos Community Can you recommend a NAS that will work on S2. Ease of use, no drop out and a a decent app are my priority. I’ll be asking for set up hints as well soon. Ha ha thanks
It has been raised and suggested by several users for many, many years yet Sonos does not seem to be receptive. It’s a huge paradox there is no central reboot feature in the app when reboot is the first and foremost default remedy suggested by Sonos support. I can’t think of any issue (and there are quite many) that hasn’t been responded to by Sonos: try to 1) reboot your Sonos system, 2) reboot your router. Whatever the problem, try a reboot and let us know if it didn’t work. The latter is easy, my FRITZ box interface has that feature. However for Sonos reboot I have to climb and crawle the entire house. Up to the ceilings, down on the floors, under furniture, behind shelves. Such a pain, such an annoyance every time.Ideally, in a perfect world it would be even better to make a system that actually works flawlessly but I’m afraid that is too much to ask for. Fixing the broken app of 2024 is a protracted, neverending story, restoring functionality is a mirage, never mind improving the sy
I have had Sonos products for many years, with around 15 speakers, new and old. These include old Play 1, Play 3 and Play 5, along with more recent Beam, Sonos 1 and Sonos Sub, along with a Sonos Roam. Whatever I do with Sonos 1 or Sonos 2 controllers on my iPhone and constantly resetting these, I cannot find any way to make the system work smoothly as it used to. Sometimes speakers are not recognised, sometimes rooms cannot be added and also volume changes take forever to take place. Why have Sonos made it so impossible to have a simple solution to manage a fully integrated system?
I have built a surround system attached to my TV with the following Sonos devices:Beam Gen 2 Sub Mini 2x Era 100Beam is connected to the TV through HDMI eARC port.Beam and Sub Mini are connected to the same network switch. Era 100s are connected to the same Ip subnet through wifi. ERAs are physically placed to the back of the couch and they are all included in the surround system formed on Sonos app. As I don’t have an iphone (hate apple, love Android) , I am not able to use trueplay.Btw, that’s weird because when I was using the Era’s as a stereo pair , the Sonos app would give me the option to use trueplay. Why it does not support trueplay in surround mode (when it is really needed) Now, my questions:is there a 3rd party app to configure trueplay in my situation ? is trueplay required ? my TV is not altering the digital audio from the source (direct audio to HDMI) but I am not sure if I get different sounds from the surround speakers (ERAs). How can I confirm that ? which 5.1 formats
I recently updated to the newest version of the Sonos App and now I am having a number of issues. Initially I had a difficult time getting the sonos system to the wifi system. Now it does not allow me to connect to the steaming music services I keep getting a message that it is unable to play the station. It is extremely frustrating.
Updated internet that had Sonos system and now is saying it equipment needs an update. I click update and app says update failed with no error code. (Help not available)I am assuming equipment is too old for new software. Can I bypass update and use as is? It is now stuck in a loop saying needs an update-won’t update.

My play 1 (gen 1) is dead! I opened it up to check the 2amp fuse which is fine. On examination I found that R310 has blown. My question is what value resistor is this? Any ideas what may have caused it to pop?
