Why do I have to pause between certain actions for them to take effect correctly when using the latest android app?I was editing the queue yesterday and noticed that if I deleted entries in quick succession several would simply reappear whereas if I paused and counted to 2 between my delete requests they would all be removed as expected. It seems the performance of these new apps still needs a lot of work.the windows version is a joy to use by comparison, fast, responsive, logical and clear as to what’s its doing. (all system and apps at latest available versions as of today.)
Hello,I have purchased the sonos amp.(a) I would love to hear from you which speakeers do you recomment for its wired connection (consider the 125 RMS and 8 Oms that is the specs for the speakers, as it is in the sonos specs). What I am trying to do first, is for a good stereo amp for listening classical music (and other types).(b) I would also like to hear from you any thoughts about connecting wireless speakers without (at first) purhasing wired speakers (in this case i can purchased wired speakers at later time)Thank You very much in advance.
Some back story: I started my Sonos Journey around 5 months ago. I initially had a Beam Gen 2 + One SLs + Sub Mini for my 1st full setup. I was then bitten by the Sonos Bug and quickly had the urge to upgrade everything. I found a deal on Facebook Marketplace that I could not pass up, and I upgraded to Arc Ultra + Era 300s + Dual Sub 4s.The Era 300s and Arc Ultra were vast improvements over the One SLs and Beam 2, especially for Movies and Gaming. For music, the Beam 2 setup was pretty amazing, but still a downgrade nonetheless. The area that didn't perform as expected was the Dual Sub 4s, which sounded like a downgrade. I at first thought they were duds and could not hear any bass coming out of them with bass-heavy music. When I set them up, I placed one Sub 4 on my bed, positioning it at the height my ear level would be at viewing position, and then performed a sub crawl. I found 2 areas of the room to sound best in opposing corners of the room, diagonally from each other. So that's
My system arc+2 era 300+ sub gen one is it worth adding a sub mini or a sub gen 3/4
Hi there,New to the Community today and looking for help.I have a Sonos setup with arc, 2 x One SL’s and sub in my conservatory connected to my 75” Sony TV and Sky Mini box.Occasionally when I turn it on I have voice sync issues. The only way I can seem to fix this is to switch everything off for a few mins and re power. Sometimes this can take 2 or 3 attempts to sort it. Very frustrating.Hoping someone has a simple fix to my issue.thanksRich
From the "Now playing" screen, when you touch at the bottom, the speakers playing in the group show first followed by speakers that are not playing. If you slide finger up to see the speakers lower in the list everything is fine. If you slide down to head towards the top of the list, the entire screen disappears and reveals whatever screen was behind it. To get back to that point where you can adjust the volume, you have to go through several taps. This behavior can be very frustrating because sometimes it will scroll while other times, it will slide away . There is an "Apply" button at the bottom of the volume adjustment screen so in my opinion, we should be required to hit the "Apply" button when we are done and the screen should not disappear when we are simply trying to scroll back up to the top. Is there a way to mandate hitting the "Apply" button when you are done and otherwise keeping the screen there regardless of how you scroll?
I was having trouble with only getting stereo from my Apple TV into Sonos Beam (sub and 2 Symfonic bookshelf speakers for surround), connected to a Samsung frame (from Dec. 2023). I thought it was a problem with EARC, so I swapped out the Beam for Sonos Arc, connected the sub & surround speakers, and connected through optical.after switching around with the settings within the appleTV and the Samsung, I was still getting only stereo sound on everything I played into the TV through the apple TV.Then I tried playing Disney+ directly through the Samsung. Behold! Dolby 5.1 surround! Then I realized that the only thing playing Dolby Atmos through the AppleTV was AppleTV+ content. Everything else was only playing in Stereo. Shame on you Apple! They better fix this soon.
Hello,I have a question that I have been struggling to find an answer to, and I’m hoping that someone here could help. I am in the process of making the switch from a TV to a projector (the Nebula X1), and that is going to cause some issues. The projector only has two HDMI inputs. They are both HDMI 2.1, and only one of them is eARC. I will need more HDMI inputs than that. The most obvious solution would be to use a receiver, which I am open to. However, I am already using Sonos speakers. If I were to get a receiver, I wouldn’t have the money or the desire to replace the Sonos speakers. I understand how you can turn a receiver into a Sonos speaker using the Port, but I don’t see much about going the other way around. Because normally, why would you? But I already have the Sonos speakers. I looked into HDMI switches, but I haven’t found any that seem powerful enough to preserve the video and audio in a way a receiver could (and even the few I’ve found that claim to have reviews from peo
I have the Sonos 2 setup in the house but wish to link it with our garden house which is 80m away. Which would be the best way to achieve this?PS: I live in the UK
Hi Sonoswhen will I be able to listen to Music from my music library with my ACE headphonesI like to listen to music playing on my eArc ultra but also want to be able to do this with my Ace headphones currently the Ace is tv audio only.thank you. Alan
Hi,I’m using this combination of hardware: Apple TV4K → LG G5 TV → Sonoc ARC.In Apple TV I have Dolby Atmos enabled. In LG G5 I have Bitstream, passthrough and eARC enabled. Sonos ARC is connected to eARC.Dolby Atmos is working perfectly but whenever I’m running 8K HDR YouTube content or non Dolby Atmos on Netflix or other streaming, I’m getting only Stereo PCM or Multichannel PCM.When I’m using TV WebOS built-in Netflix or YouTube app, I’m getting Dolby Digital.Dolby Digital sound much better and richer than PCM from Apple TV. Dolby Digital audio is much louder and has a lot more of bass.Is there any fix for Apple TV4K?
I just bought a Sonos Five and I would like to mount it in a wall made in concrete. Can you pls suggest a structure to put it on the wall as Sonos does not provide one specific for the Five like they do with the outdoor speakers. Thank you
I would be awsome if sonos made software so you could add all the speakers you wanted in one big sones home theater
I purchased a FLAC encoded music album. Unfortunately, the sample rate is 96k. I’ve resampled the music to 44.1k using VLC media player. What I’m finding is that each of the resampled songs (files) play on my SONOS system. But the files are not linked together as an album. Also, the album artwork is not associated with the music files.Any suggestions as to what I did wrong and/or what I should do?Thx,Marty
Guys I’m not sure what’s wrong with my system or when it happened. The first movie experience (Dune) was amazing, best atmos I’ve experienced at home and I didn’t want to push volume above 25% because I have neighbors and it was impressive already. That was around November last year.in the meanwhile I added a 2nd Sub 4 that is a great addition. However the system feels nerfed since a while: Volume needs to go to 40% in the Sonos App and it feels less impressive than before. Did quite a lot TruePlay advance runs but not much success.I’m using AppleTV 4K, HdFury Arcana (but from the start)Any software / hardware or firmware upgrade that could cause this? Sonos volume % should give roughly the same power output to everyone or?one thing to mention: the volume control via Apple TV remote usually doesn’t work, does this include source volume?
My current music library is stored on a WD My Passport and requires to be connected to my computer all the time for me to access my music on my SONOS speakers which is a real pain. Is it worth investing in a home networked device (NAS drive) if so does anyone have any suggestions of what to look for. My computer uses windows 11.
Why is the topic of Sonos radio discontinued? This is a problem Sonos must address to its customers. I don’t want it therefore I should be able to remove it from my choices. Unless I’m mistaken it’s the default station on my Sonos. Since I’m unable to remove it can I at least change the default setting? I was a Bose customer for years and just recently replaced my Bose with Sonos. Maybe I should have gone with LG, Vizio or some other brand that let me utilize my setup as I see fit. This really is unacceptable ☹️.
Short version:Since the latest software drop my Spotify Playlist alarm has stopped working and is replaced by the HATED Sonos Chime. I have tried deleting and re-creating the alarm, changing the playlist. When managing alarms via the Android App and Windows App (not the Web App) I get odd results. Anyone else experiencing this? Longer version: I have a 20-player Sonos setup that includes a pair of Sonos Play: 1s in the bedroom. I have had an alarm set in the morning for years that plays a Spotify playlist that has been saved to Sonos Favourites. These players have been problematic since the App debacle with typically a 10-20s delay for them to respond when controlled via the Android app (Open App - Select “Bedroom” - Zone displays with a volume of -1 and “No Content” - wait 10-20s - Zone updates with actual volume and actual content). However up until the last software drop the alarm functioned with no problem. Now it seems that whatever I do, instead of playing the selected music, t
I thought to share what has been a complete solution to my MacBook woes of getting Sonos S2 to stay connected to my library.Obviously I checked all network sharing etc etc but some times it would connect, sometimes it would drop out and refuse to reconnect. In frustration I removed the Sonos app, downloaded and installed fresh - no improvement.Solution:Remove the app completely using an app removal tool - I used App Cleaner (free) Re load the app as a fresh install Follow instructions on identifying where your library can be found (Music on my machine) It works and stays working !I think some data file is created during install that hangs around messing up the system that needs to be got rid of and a fresh install create a new one. Works for me on Sequoia 15.5
Sonos sent me an email asking me to write a review of the Ace. I spent a couple hours writing out a thorough and thoughtful review with lots of feedback. They haven’t posted it, and at this point it’s clear they have no intention to. So their review section is cherrypicked reviews, and the average rating is willfully biased.
I purchased the Sonos Era 300 for Dolby Atmos and Spatial Audio with Apple Music — a flagship feature marketed prominently by Sonos. After 8-9+ months, this functionality is still broken: tracks play in Atmos for a few songs, then degrade to stereo with no fix in sight. Sonos support confirmed this is a known issue, but there’s been zero communication, acknowledgement, or roadmap update. This needs urgent attention from engineering leadership — not Tier 1 support loops. So frustrating not to be able to use these speakers for their MAIN SELLING POINT, and no communication or action apparent from Sonos despite acknowledging it’s a known issue
I have two Play:1 speakers that generally work well and play across the various services I have. However, one of them won’t allow me to play a specific radio station via TuneIn (nor Sonos Radio) -- WPFW, a public station in Washington, D.C.Speaker details:A: Play:1 Version: 17.1.1 (build 85066270) Hardware Version: 1.20.1.6-1.2 Series ID: A200 B: Play:1 Version: 17.1.1 (build 85066270) Hardware Version: 1.8.3.7-1.0 Series ID: A101 If I try to start listening to WPFW on Speaker A, it looks like it’s initiating but then just returns to Stop. If I start it on Speaker B, it works fine. If I start it on B then group it with A, both play it. If I then upgroup B, it will stop on A. In short, the only way to listen to it on A is to have it grouped.I don’t seem to have this issue with any other radio station, although I guess it’s definitely possible given the number. Anyone have a clue as to why this may be happening? No updates pending...
I’ve just finished work on a new house and could use some advice on placing speakers. I’ve got an Arc Ultra for video, and that’s more than adequate for our TV needs, so I don’t need to connect anything more to it. But for music, I want more – both for casual listening throughout the combined kitchen, dining room and living room, and for somewhat more focused listening (or at least the best and loudest sound) in the kitchen itself. My working assumption has been six Era 100s mounted high on the walls, plus a sub, as shown below. But is this optimal? Should I be going in a different direction? Thank you!
I had a very strange Sonos problem today, but it now seems to be fixed. Today I received an Era 100, which I was adding to a system consisting of four older Sonos speakers in different room. I installed the Era 100 and it was able to play from streaming sources but could not play material from my music library, which is contained on a USB memory stick plugged into my router.Interestingly, I could get the Era 100 to play material from the music library by grouping it with any of the other speakers in the system if I initiated the playback from the other speaker. I called Sonos about the problem and spent a long time on the phone with a technician. He ultimately escalated the issue to Level 2 Support. The Level 2 technician revealed that the problem has been around since November 2024 and affects not only the Era 100 but also the Era 300 and some other recent speakers. The original technician stated that there was a potential solution that he could implement by remotely logging into my c
