Hi,I’m planning on a ceiling mount for the amp, where the amp would be upside down and there is nothing in amp manual that specifically either allows or prohibits that orientation. The amp would be screwed onto a metal plate about 50mm wide and 250mm long which in turn would be screwed to joists in the ceiling. Would that create a problem with ventilation, if so would it need to be spaced off the ceiling to allow airflow, or would I have to construct a U shaped bracket to mount the right way up and how much gap between the top of the amp and the ceiling - looking at pictures of the rack mount I would imagine ½ inch would be more than adequate
**SSDP discovery (M-SEARCH) gets no response from any player – not even player-to-player**System: 6 devices (Play:1 Kitchen, Play:1 Bathroom, Play:1 Bedroom, Era 100 SL Office, Arc Ultra Living Room with 2x Era 100 SL as rear speakers)App version: 88.01.10-release+20260820Firmware: 86.8-78270 (Play:1) / 96.1-79270 (Era 100 SL, Arc Ultra)**Symptom:**The Sonos app (tested on two different Android phones) intermittently shows individual or even all speakers as unreachable ("No products found", missing volume sliders). The speakers are demonstrably active and ready to play – control via Home Assistant (using already-known IP addresses) and Alexa keeps working the entire time.**Diagnostics performed:**I narrowed this down over several days using Wireshark/tcpdump packet captures and was able to rule out all network-side causes (Wi-Fi, access points, switch/IGMP snooping, VLAN routing, firewall):1. I have been a long time Sonos supporter and promoter. These connectivity issues, encoding issues , etc have persisted way too long now where a once stable and reliable product has now become the opposite. It’s unfortunate. I am probably moving my house setup as well as my company setup to another brand. I assume many Sonos fans are in the same boat. They really can’t solve the issues and don’t communicate anything they are doing about it.
Questions about what the Loudness option (EQ-settings) does has been answered: But I have not found information on at which (low) level Loudness kicks in, if it kicks in gradually and if it happens at the same (graphical) position for all devices or if it varies. Also if it’s identical to the two apps “Sonos” and “Sonos S1”.In the case of speakerless players like Port and ZP90 this will affect how to balance the Sonos level to the chosen speaker/amplifier level. So “Low” actually is low. It’s also nice to know in general.
As a long-time Sonos customer, I want to add my voice to the growing list of users frustrated by the continued lack of Qobuz Connect support.I chose Qobuz specifically for its search depth, curation, and full-catalogue browsing experience — features that are significantly limited when forced to browse through the Sonos app instead of the native Qobuz app. Being an Android user, I don't even have the AirPlay 2 workaround available to iOS/Mac users, so I'm currently stuck with no good way to use the service I pay for on the hardware I paid for. This isn't a niche request: Qobuz has offered hi-res streaming on Sonos for years, and Sonos already supports Connect for other partners. The 2024 app update reportedly broke Qobuz integration for months, and two years of community threads on this exact topic have produced no timeline, no update, and seemingly no accountability from either side about who is blocking progress. As a paying customer of a premium multi-room audio ecosystem, I expect Son
I wanted to share some feedback regarding the speaker selector and grouping panel in the app. I am using the latest version of the Sonos app on iOS (88.1.9).If you look at the screenshots attached below, I’ve highlighted the device pictures on the left side of the room list. Tapping on any of these speaker icons acts as a shortcut that immediately opens the settings menu for that specific device. This has a couple of friction points: Lack of visual indicators: There is no UI cue (like a gear icon) to suggest these images are interactive touch targets that lead to a completely different menu. Accidental navigation: Because these icons sit directly next to the main room selection area, it's very easy to misclick and be taken into the Settings panel. And then backing out of this Settings panel puts me back on the Home Screen, rather than returning to where I was on the speaker selection panel. So when I'm trying start playback on a speaker, or group rooms, a slight mis-tap instantly pull
HiWhen I first got my play 1 with voice control, I set it to Google Assistant. I became an issue as other devises went off when I said, hey google. So I changed it to Alexa. A few years ago alexa disappeared, and it went back to google. My local radio station n NSW Australia is 102.9 Triple M. I said, play 102.9. The usual happened but the music was different, so was the first ad. It was about buying items illegal here. I opened up the app and found I was listening to 102.9 The Whale from Connecticut. It was just by luck and Its a great station. Their Friday and Saturday nights are my mornings. So rock all day. Anyway after a system update, I lost being able to stream it through my system. It is in my list of stations on my Tunein. I recently had a issue with my system that had to be sorted over the phone with a level 2 expert. All sorted, but he to could not get the station to play. The station is also called WDRC-FM. Any thoughts on why it cant be played? Cheers
I disconnected my cable box and now my tv won’t see the arc hdmi connection. Please help! I called and discounted everything multiple times no luck
Can the new Sonos Ace Ultra be used at the same time as the Arc Ultra? I would like to be able to wear the headphones while watching TV with other people and be able to watch the show while not being distracted by conversations.
Jumped on it as soon as I got today's email announcement. Had to call in to get upgrade credit applied. Looking forward to impact on sound stage of whatever they're calling "AI assist"
Hello, simple question.... what are the chances that Qobuz Connect will be operational by the end of 2026?
Good news for folks with no rear power outlets or limited room.https://www.sonos.com/en-us/shop/beam-ultra-blackWhich Sonos speakers work as surrounds with Beam Ultra?A matching pair of the following speakers will work as surrounds: Sonos Play, Move 2, Era 300, Era 100, Sonos One (including Sonos One SL), Sonos Five, and SYMFONISK (Gen 2) speakers. You can also use Amp to power in-wall, in-ceiling or other passive speakers as surrounds.
Eighteen months ago, or so, i was prepared to dump all my sonos kit in the bin, when the software was absolute rubbish. What has happened since, I know not....... someone has got there act together. I have not got all the latest stuff , original Playbar, Sub, Sonus 1 as surround sound. It sounds absolutely fantastic and I commend who ever got thus stuff to work, as it should. This is just a thank you to the tech team , for sorting this out. I have a surround system for both tv and music which is as good as it can be....... well done !!!
Hi Sonos Team and Community,I would love to submit a feature request to improve the user experience and UI of the Sonos app when browsing external music sources (like a local music library on your NAS).Currently, when you search or browse by Album, the app only displays the Album Title in the list. It would be incredibly helpful and much more intuitive if the Artist Name was displayed directly underneath the Album Title. When you have a large music library or are looking for specific albums, seeing just the album name makes it hard to distinguish between them at a glance (especially for self-titled albums or common album names). Adding the artist name would allow users to find the correct album instantly without having to click on it first. Please upvote or comment if you agree and would like to see this visual improvement in a future update!
Hello SONOS-USERS,I tried a few things today to get Sonos to accept the music library from my Samba share without aborting after a short time with an error stating that the share is no longer available. HiI keep looking at Sonos home theatre solutions, but there is one thing stopping me.I already have a traditional Yamaha 5.1 setup with five perfectly good speakers and a sub. I don't want to throw all of that away and spend €4–5,000 on a complete Sonos setup just to get into the Sonos ecosystem. What I would buy, however, is a proper Sonos 5.1 amplifier.Something simple:125W – Left125W – Center125W – Right50W – Surround Left50W – Surround Right+ Sub output / Sonos Sub supportHDMI eARC, Trueplay and normal Sonos integration. That's basically it.The current solution with two Sonos Amps feels a bit overkill. You get 2 x 125W for the front speakers and another 2 x 125W for the surrounds, but still no real center channel.I really don't need 125W per surround speaker. I do want a proper center.Put a product like this in the €1–1,500 range and I would seriously consider buying it tomorrow. I can keep the speakers I already like, replace my old receiver and suddenly the whole system becomes pa
Two speakers Sonos Play:1 bought late 2017how long do we expect them to last?? First speaker ‘died ‘ a few months ago and now 2nd speaker not working as well? Is this common problem how long should they last??
Hi everyone,I’d like to introduce KlingKlang, an independent Sonos controller I’ve been developing and have recently released for Android (iOS and MacOS coming soon!)The project started because I wanted a simpler way to control my own Sonos system: all rooms visible on one screen, quick grouping and straightforward volume control, without having to move through multiple screens.KlingKlang communicates directly with the Sonos speakers on the local network. There is no KlingKlang account, no subscription, no advertising and no KlingKlang cloud backend. Some of the things currently supported: All rooms and currently playing music on one screen Grouping and ungrouping of rooms, including group-all Group volume and individual volume control for every speaker Playback controls from the Android lock screen and notifications Browsing and playing music from a NAS or home music library Access to configured streaming services, radio, Sonos favourites and playlists Line-in playback to o
Anyone have any insight?
Since Sonos update in February 4 out of my 6 x Sonos Connects now only play on very low (almost inaudible) volume.Anybody else with this issue or any solution found for the problem?
I was playing with all five rooms grouped. When I was finished I ran a shortcut that pauses, ungroups all & clears the queue. Then I turned on the TV. The Lock Screen still showed all rooms grouped and the music ( Radio station ) still in the queue.
For years, Apple and Sonos have unsuccessfully tried to resolve my WiFi dropping issues. I’m still using my antiquated Apple Express as WiFi extender in Bridge Mode for my yard. Ai finally resolved years long issue. My Apple AirPort Express is connected to AirPort Extreme via Ethernet cable through a standard unmanaged switch. My Sonos Connect is also connected to the same switch which caused Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) causing Extreme to repeatedly drop and reconnect. Sonos Connect was still trying to broadcast its own wireless mesh network (SonosNet) creating a wireless-to-wired loop in the switch. Resolved: In Sonos Connect Settings, the WiFi has to be switched to Disabled. Hope this helps others those who still have wired phones. 🤣
I’m trying to troubleshoot an issue with no high frequencies being produced from my Play5:Gen1.I have the board out, have removed the 2 100uF capacitors which are apparently the root cause (their appearance is fine but they measure shorted). Before I purchase and install new caps, what about the 200uF capacitors residing right next to them? I don’t want to fix something that ain’t broke but while I have this apart I’m wondering if I should be proactive? Thoughts? Your experiences?
Hi everyone,I’m planning to use two Sonos Era 300 speakers as surrounds in an open-plan living room, behind my sofa. (right below where the Bose speaksers are today). The tv will be above the fireplace with the ultra arc below it.Because of the room layout, the best available position (in my opinion) is high on the wall, just below a low ceiling beam/soffit, behind the left and right corners of the sofa. They will be close to the ceiling—definitely within 60 cm / 2 ft.Should I mount the Era 300 speakers inverted (upside down) or upright in this position? They will be used as surrounds with a Sonos home-theater setup (ultra ARC and sub gen 4 )I understand the ideal surround position is closer to ear height, but wall mounting them high is the only practical option in this room. I will run Trueplay after installation.I would appreciate any advice on: Whether inverted mounting is correct in this specific high-wall position Whether they should face straight forward or be angled slightly do
So I changed by gateway router which wants to run a different 192.168.x.x. subnet from the previous one. New gateway router is also the DHCP server. Every device on my network picked up a new IP address within 5 minutes except every one of my Sonos devices, The Sonos app simply told me I had nothing configured, and suggested having to go through a very laborious process to reconfigure each Sonos speaker again. No way. As it turns out, a simple power-cycle of each speaker solved the problem immediately but this is not how a DHCP client is supposed to behave. Problem solved but maybe this is useful for somebody else.
