connectivity issues persist

I have been a long time Sonos supporter and promoter. These connectivity issues, encoding issues , etc have persisted way too long now where a once stable and reliable product has now become the opposite. It’s unfortunate. I am probably moving my house setup as well as my company setup to another brand. I assume many Sonos fans are in the same boat. They really can’t solve the issues and don’t communicate anything they are doing about it.

I’m thinking network equipment should be one of the categories in the profile information.  This is usually where the issue is.  No one here can help without that information.

Though it seems far fetched "not encoded correctly” is also often caused by network problems.

It’s most likely network issues but the OP seems unwilling to share the information not just about the network but what errors messages they be getting. The company situation if there is one could be to too many users trying to use the system and/or setup of components.

As far listing network information that’s been suggested before. However, a lot of users wouldn’t know where to be begin and/or what to list. That process becomes even more complicated these days with Mesh network configurations that can be out-of-box or custom setups like mine. Other issues on that front are that users have ISP supplied gear and will say they have a Mesh setup but neglect to mention that their Mesh is running off the ISP gear. IMHO there are just too many variables to concisely list in a member profile.

It sounds like the main issue is that there isn't enough information to determine whether this is a network problem or something specific to the Sonos system. The exact error messages, router or mesh setup, and which speakers are affected would make troubleshooting much easier.

If you’re still experiencing it, sharing those details could give the community something concrete to work with instead of guessing.

Persistent connectivity issues can be especially frustrating when Sonos devices work normally at some times but keep dropping or becoming unavailable later. It would be helpful to compare whether the problem affects one speaker or the whole system and whether restarting the network or changing the connection makes any difference.

The challenge will always be that a network can be influenced by outside resources. Simple physics suggests lots of potential interference to WiFi networks.

I’ve experienced this myself, with a new neighbor setting up their (overpowered, IMHO) new WiFi router on the same channel I had been using and stomping all over my network. In a different home, I had a microwave that, when running, spread interference across my network bands. All issues solvable, by simple reading and understanding of the data in the wifi interference FAQ, but that doesn’t alter the initial feelings when my ‘system’ failed.

Not to mention that Sonos uses the network in ways that most devices don’t, in order to do the magic that they do.

Maybe you guys are still here to share information. However, the OP seems unwilling to proceed since it’s been 6 days and no response. IMHO it’s like beating a dead horse..it ain’t gonna run no more. That ship has sailed. 😂
