Sonos Connect - Very low sound since Feb 2026

Since Sonos update in February 4 out of my 6 x Sonos Connects now only play on very low (almost inaudible) volume.

Anybody else with this issue or any solution found for the problem?

Sonos are now talking about out of warranty (the Connects are all 3 years old) replacement which I assume comes with a cost...

Your Connects are WAY more than 3 years old: at least six, up to 18 years old.

I am pretty sure they did something recently in software that hosed the S15s.  There are posts all over the forums that indicate that it's far too prevalent to be simultaneous and coincidental global hardware failure.
I have gone ahead and converted all mine using DACs because the fiber port doesn't seem to be affected and I don't feel like getting in a slap fight with Sonos tech support.  If anyone hears that Sonos has issued an update that fixes the problem, I would be appreciative if they would post on this thread.

Hi Jens
I gave up with Sonos support. They were so slow that it felt like they wanted that outcome…
Sent the units to a local repair centre who specialise in Sonos and all sorted. Various components had blown in 4 x units - all the same components, all on the same day as an update…
Very poor support from Sonos, but all sorted elsewhere now.

Hello in have the same problem with 8 connect 😱

Since the update, it no longer works via the RCA outputs. Do you know which components might have blown?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

We’ll need a bit more information, but more simply, have you tried the RCA inputs (and appropriate setup) on another CONNECT? We don’t get to see the hard data when you submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of experiencing this problem like a Sonos Support person does, but I’d guess that there might be an issue with the electronics on the older device, for the line in. I would also be tempted to do the traditional repair option, by unplugging the device for two minutes, then plugging back in.

Of course, there is no real guarantee that it is the Sonos, it could easily be the device that is plugged in to the line in. Have you checked that device?
