I have an open concept first floor with a Sonos beam on a wall mounted TV. I have the amp and 4 speakers not sure where to place them anyone have some suggestions. I don't really need surround sound for the TV looking for more audio for the room. Do i need all 4? what should I do?
Is it safe to install Sonos 8 inch speaker in the drywall without any reinforcement? They weight 9lbs each and will be installed on double drywall ceiling without additional bracing/reinforcement on a retrofit project.
Volume level slide bar will appear but an attempt to adjust volume makes it vanish or on occasion the slide bar won't appear at all. Anyone else have this issue? Resolution? Also any way to get the volume level number to appear on the tv screen? It sure is irritating to have to open the app just to see what level I am at.
iOS App. Latest app. Latest firmware. The Roam is a portable device meant to be taken away from one’s home network.So- while on Bluetooth only, one would like to monitor the battery level of one’s battery powered device. The old app could do this. Every other BT speaker I’ve ever encountered can do this. The Roam. Cannot. Please add back this basic feature. The Roam has been out since March 2021 and it had this capability until the new app was released. In May 2024 with the release of the new app it lost this capability and it’s been well over a year and has yet to be restored. Embarrassing for Sonos, really…And please don’t respond with “you can use a voice assistant” or “because of the way our system uses BT it won’t work” because it used to be there, so just put it back, please?
I’ll be moving to a new house soon. In the basement is a rec room where we will install a TV and we would like some decent audio. I currently have a 5.1 system with towers and a big center, on-wall surrounds, and a receiver but looking to make things easy in the new house, one remote (Apple TV) and a clean install. Plan is an Arc Ultra on the built-in cabinet, with a Sub 4 on the floor. The sofa will be right against the back wall so there is no room for surrounds on stands. I can wall mount or ceiling mount, though I don’t know the best location. I have ordered Era 300s and hope to use those, but maybe an Amp with some 3-rd party surround speakers might be the better option? It looks like I have some conduit in the ceiling, though placement is odd about midway between the TV wall and the back wall. I may be able to run power to the Era 300s via this conduit or speaker wire to the Amp. Room will be used for TV, movies, and games. Music isn’t really a big concern. If the recom
I’m just wondering about sound absorption panels and Sonos 9.1.4. I’m treating my room for hifi stereo listening with absorption panels(first reflection points plus rear wall and corner bass traps). However, in the same room I’m also going to use Sonos Arc Ultra/Sub Gen 4/Era300 for immersive movie sound. My question, since Sonos is a virtual system and relies on sound bouncing off the side walls for side channels(and ceiling), wouldn’t it be counter-productive to have those sound absorption panels? Or would Trueplay correct the room acoustics within the Sonos system to compensate for the sound panels?
After 11 years of faithful service, one of the speakers in my Sonos home has died. It was the first Sonos product that I purchased back in 2014. Now I have a home full of Sonos speakers that I’ve purchased over the years, all of them S1 compatible, and will not work on S2 (don’t get me started!). What can I replace the Play 5 with? Thanks.
I have had the ERA 3 for about 1.5 years, and after Sonos made an update to its system last year, I am now unable to pair this speaker to my computer or my iphone. I have spent hours trying to figure this out with the help of Sonos technicians and with the Sonos community. I am beyond frustrated and disappointed in Sonos for not fixing this problem and am disappointed that I bought this speaker as an upgrade. It has been anything but better.
Could we return all our speakers for a refund since Sonos broke their system? Is anyone aware of a class action we can join? It’s been YEARS and they keep promising fixes that never come. They used to work fine until the S2 software broke it all.The audio cutouts make it unusable and the speakers are now decorative.I literally have THOUSANDS of dollars invested now useless.
Unfortunately I cannot respond to other posts where people were having this issue, so I am just writing this forum post here in hopes that people come across it from their search engines. If you are experiencing your microphone on your MacOS device decreasing in volume and then coming back up again, this appears to only be impacting M3 and M4 devices as they share the same Bluetooth adapter. Don’t ask me why, I haven’t got a clue. The fix is as belowVisit chrome://flags (or edge://flags if you’re using Edge) and do the following:Locate Allow WebRTC to adjust the input volume Set this to Disabled Select Relaunch in the bottom right corner Other things to note:Even if your microphone is not in active use by Chrome/Edge, if you use Slack, Zoom, Teams, Webex it will still reduce the volume. Simply having Chrome/Edge open seems to trigger this behaviour This doesn’t appear to be an issue with non Chromium based browsers It would be great to understand if this does actually fix your issue, s
I just bought a Sonos Arc Ultra & an Ace, the Ace for evening TV, in the Black Friday sales When I watch films on Prime the sound is superb on both devices but on terrestrial channels (I’m in the UK) the sound was utter rubbish which I think is from only being broadcast in stereoI’m using only my TV (Samsung 2018 flagship model) as a receiver as I don’t have Sky & wondering is a decent streaming box would be the way forward to get better sound overall & more choice of free TV. My home is a smart home so the Amazon Fire Cube could be an option but I would also like to use the streamer as a Plex player which the Nvidia Shield Pro does I believe but is there a better option as the Shield is now old?I used to use a Mede8ter MED600X3D which still works perfectly but years old & was used with my old Atmos setup but I now want a more minimalist home so I don’t want all the cables & speakers all over & a big amp although I could still use it to stream from a HDD if I wa
I have a small LR, 11’x23’. Which soundbar is better suited for my small room, Beam or Arc Ultra? Also, I don’t have room for 300’s would Era 100’s (or older One’s) do for the surrounds --considering they don’t have Dolby Atmos? Thank you
Hi everyone,I’m facing an issue with Sonos where any playlist that includes tracks from my local music library won’t play properly when I start it from the mobile app. The playlist loads fine, and all the songs are visible, but tapping Play either does nothing or gets stuck on “Connecting.”What’s strange is that the same tracks play normally if I browse the local library directly — the problem only happens when they’re inside a playlist. Streaming-service tracks inside the same playlist work without issues, so it seems specific to the ML entries.I’ve already tried updating the music library index, rebooting my speakers and phone, checking network access, and reinstalling the app, but nothing changes. Is anyone else experiencing this? Any ideas on what might be causing the mobile app to fail when playlists reference local library content? Thanks in advance for any help.
Do you have a timeline when you will support HiRes-Lossless from Apple to any Sonos hardware? If so, will the port be one and when might it be available?
Can I pair Beam1 with amp driven ceiling speakers as rears ?Currently use the ARC HDMI socket with cable to Amp ro drive ceiling speakers that works great. I want to add the Beam to TV but only one ARC socket…..Thoughts welcomeDelboy
I couldn't be happier with my new Sonos Arc Ultra with Era 100 surround set. However. The volume gets quite loud and I don't want to wake up my toddler or annoy my neighbours. Adding a timer function is a MUST HAVE for this device. It's not hard to implement: just turn on night mode every night at 22.00 and turn it of at 06.00. That's it.I have found dozens of topics on these forums and on Reddit requesting this feature. Please Sonos - add it quickly! This is a must have!
I have a gen 2 amp that one of the speaker outputs started emitting a crackling sound.. the other output sounds fine… I also have an old amp that doesn’t work. Was wondering if I can swap the outputs?
I have just purchased the Sonos Ace headphones obviously foolishly thinking I would be able to use the app the stream my music library directly to my headphones thereby being able to listen to my music library through my headphones and controlling music selection via the Sonos app.this is apparently something that is not possible.considering the price point of the headphones and the claims of quality and functionality I feel this is a major flaw in the headphones design and in the marketing by Sonos.i may as well just but some other quality Bluetooth headphones a a cheaper price.i even tried playing my library through my Sonos soundbar and then doing the swap to the headphones but this is apparently not possible either. This is really disappointing.i love my Sonos system but this is one element that is a bit of a let down. Will Sonos fix this flaw or do I just go back to relying on Bluetooth strategies and work around for playing my music.regards
I have had my Arc for about 2 yrs. Recently we have had to turn up the volume to hear the voices clearly. When we first had it we were at about 24 volume level. Now we are at 34-36. And some of the voices are not very clear. I have even gone in and turned on CC to read what they were saying. Never used to be this bad? Nothing has changed except doing recent updates. Can my ARC really be performing this this bad? I have tried Trueplay many times and get no improvement. I have a lot of money tied up in Sonos. Even thinking of adding 2 era 100 speakers as surrounds. But now i am wondering do i just eat the cost and switch to Bose? Anyone else having sound issues with their Arc?
I was very happy with sonos until last year when I replaced sonos playbar with arc. I lost deep bass now with arc (arc, 2 sonos ONE and Sub) the bass is really hollow like some cheap speakers. And recently if I unplug the speaker for few minutes I lose all the speakers. So frustrating to reconnect them back.
I’m really interested in getting myself a pair of Sonos Ace headphones for use with my TV at night so not to disturb the rest of the family. What appeals to me is tying out the TV Audio Swap feature to get some surround effects but I don’t own any of the supporting soundbars (Yet). So, here's what I’m think would be a great new Sonos product idea to add to the Ace Headphones. A new TV Audio Swap box like an Amp/Port that emulates the decoding of the surround like a soundbar would (Ie Beam Gen2) and sends it to the headphones but without the speakers. What do you think?
The Sonos app will not find or recognize my Beam. I’ve tried everything that I know. This is so frustrating. I was about to drop another $2K on more Sonos products. Not now! I’M GOING TO PURCHASE THEIR COMPETITORS PRODUCT. YOU SHOULD CONSIDER THE SAME. Companies that make customers jump through hoops and still leave them with unresolved issues eventually go out of business. Sonos is on there way down that trail.
I’m having real connection issues with my Sonos System. This weekend went to use it and only had my Move speaker connected to my app. All my other speakers we showing ‘Not Connected’ in the Settings page.I had restarted to reboot each individual speaker, doing a reset and then adding it to the system. After adding a couple of speakers, suddenly everything was working. They all appeared under my app.Lasted for about 5 minutes and now they have disappeared again apart from my Move speaker and showing ‘Not Connected’.Have rebooted my router and no joy. I have a Deco mesh system but have removed my Sonos Boost a few months back as it was my understanding that a Boost was not required. Has been working fine until recently.Any suggestions? Is there an update that has thrown the system? Thanks
I struggle with the size of the pin head buttons on the volume sliders. This is a replica of an earlier thread 9 months ago that has not been actioned. As this seems to be such a simple change, I am submitting a fresh new request in the hope to express further interest in this update. Thanks.
I recently purchased a Sony QN65QN70F TV.I also have an AppleTV 4K and Sonos Beam 1st Gen.I currently have everything connected as follows: AppleTV → Samsung TV → Sonos Beam.I am pretty sure the AppleTV 4K supports Dolby Atmos. The TV does not.The Beam does not.My question is, if I upgrade to to Sonos Beam Gen 2 will I get Dolby Atmos out of it, or is the Samsung TV going to keep that from happening. Thanks in advance…..Bob
