Hello Community,Does anyone have experience simultaneously connecting two non-preamp turntables into the Sonos system? I understand there are multiple Sonos options to connect one non-preamp turntable/ one RCA cable set, but I am hoping for a resolution to fully integrate both of my Technic SL1200 turntables. Thank you!
I am undertaking a self build in the UK. We are approaching the stage of first fix electrics, at which point I was planning to wire in audio cable for a number of in ceiling/in wall speakers powered by Sonos amps. I now find out the in ceiling speaker is 250mm Deep? The standard for new builds has a 45mm service batten and 12.5mm of plasterboard mounted on top. This leaves a total void of 57.5mm to install the speaker without having to drilll into the PIR insulation underneath, which is against building control regulations. A stud wall is 90mm, which gives 102.5mm total for a wall mounted speaker. Is this just me, or am I simply going to have to go down a different route? Surely somebody at Sonos or Sonance thought about this when designing these? P.s. Sonos tech support were clueless on this, simply saying the 12.5mm plasterboard would hold the speakers in place.
I updated my sonos apps and system as required by you Sonos and since that time I cannot access any of my sonos system from any iOS devices fortunately it is still working from my windows PC so I know it is working. Tomorrow I will try uninstalling and reinstalling my iOS devices with the Sonos app. This is unacceptable you make great hardware and terrible software. If this were the first or second or even third time this has happened, I might overlook it, but this happens all too often. The fix always involves some complicated hoop jumping to get the system back to working order. I have other things to do with my time other than to test your software. I will continue to not recommend your products to friends and family. I so very much want you to be better than you are sonos.
Hi,I currently have a single Era 300 in my lounge for music. I have bitten the bullet and ordered another plus the stand, using one of my 15% off coupons. When installed as a stereo pair for music with the other, there will be about a 10cm difference in height. Will this matter given I will do Trueplay?Hope not as I don’t really have any other options on placement.
Right. I’m going to stop after this as brain is getting carried away.Any chance of there being an IKEA collaboration, similar to the Sympfonisk, to create a ceiling light with built in Sonos speakers to work as either dedicated down-firing Atmos speakers or “invisible” music speakers?Context: I’m a “tech-on-show minimalist” and would rather hide/ghost it all as much of it as possible. The Symfonisk lamp speakers are okay and all but better for surrounds or discrete ground level music (not a great fan of the look personally). Upfiring speakers in the Arc and Era 300s are great and all but definitely doesn't have the power/presence/directionality of a dedicated in-ceiling speaker. Given most rooms have a ceiling light via ceiling rose in the centre of the room, I would LOVE Sonos Atmos speakers built discretely into a ceiling light where either music or dedicated Atmos down firing speakers would live. That way, even if you don’t have any other speakers, you get the benefit of music in a
Another feature request. Rather than just basic bass/treble/ambient/full adjustments for speakers, any chance of pre-configured (or configurable) DSP settings for music Sonos, you know, those “old skool” DSP settings like Concert Hall, Jazz Club, Dance, Dolby Theatre, etc to select from? For some added context and having been through MANY different varieties of music, surround sound and home theatre systems over the years. Sometimes, nothing beats good old fashioned 2.0 stereo but without the technology of today, those old systems had to use psychoacoustic trickery to make the sound more interesting/engaging, some with greater success than others Using my TruPlay’d Arc, 2 x One and Sub setup as basis, for movies and TV’s, it sounds as great as would be expected. For music as well, it’s definitely no slouch and certainly has presence and fills rooms but it’s all based on TruPlay and the room acoustics and manual adjustments of levels. The only thing I found is that it’s still somewhat di
Already have a Sonos Play:5 Gen 1 which I’m now using with my newly acquired projector. The question I’m struggling with now is whether to get another Play:5 Gen 1 (yes I know it’s 2023) rather than an altogether new Sonos 5.1 setup that I simply don’t have the bugdet for at the mo.It’s a real shame that the Play:5 Gen 1 can’t be used as surround speakers which would have been ideal, but given that my projector is mounted behind my sofa connected to an Apple TV 4k which allows wireless connection to speakers over WiFi using a separte Apple Airport Express (Airplay 2) devide I already own i.e. plugged into Play:5 Gen 1 via 3.5mm I feel like another inexpensive Play:5 Gen 1 would most likely be the best way to go for me at present, especially since I also tend to listen to music now and again.Wondering if anyone has had a similar experience using 2 x Play:5 Gen 1 (grouped) hooked up to a projector or TV and how it compares to a Sonos 5.1 setup; is a Sonos 5.1 setup really that much bett
Hi,Since Tidal offer up to 9216 kbps audio quality streaming with the premium Hifi Plus membership, are you aware that sonos 3rd generation speakers can supports that high quality with multi-rooms without any unsync issues? I still have unsync issues always with hifi stream (without ethernet wired speakers and multi-room only) and i would like to know if the firmware have solved this issue, or maybe this is just that sonos speakers are not capable to handle this high song quality with multi-rooms… I have read couple years ago on sonos specs that the device can handle up to 1400 kbps if i remember but i don’t find the info anymore. Btw i have fast internet 1000 mbts speed and premium wifi Orbi Wifi with satellite device connected to my modem in bridge mode. I do not have interference because i do not have any issues with my cameras, chromecast, xbox console, or any others devices at home… Last year i tried everytings from reset all my devices and tried every others channels available wi
Hi,I have my Era100 connected to my PC in my office via the (official) line-in adapter and the sound starts playing, sounds great but then it keeps pausing for no reason. I look at the SONOS app on my phone and the playback for line-in has been paused in the app. I press play and then it immediately starts playing again. The vast majority of the time the app hasn’t even been opened on my phone but it seems to be the cause of the playback on my PC stopping… getting very frustrating!Either there is something going on with the era100 itself, or the app is being overly active in the background. I don’t want the solution to be ‘remove the era100 from the app’ because that means i need to re-add it every time i want to live it up with my Beam to play music across the house.
Hi Sonos,Any chance an option to self-calibrate “Auto Truplay” in a room that has multiple mic enabled speakers?I was recently looking into swapping out my Arc + Sonos One + Sub combo with a Sony HT-A9 because what I hope will be my future living room looks to be asymmetrical and so I was trying to find a way of creating as discrete a home cinema as possible without the Arc/TV being the anchor/centre of the room where 4 off-axis speakers might work(also why I bought a Samsung The Frame TV).One idea I liked about the HT-A9 is that it uses the mics inside the 4 speakers to self calibrate the room based on position and was just wondering if/as/when Sonos might consider the same. Granted people may have SL speakers (for which standard Truplay is still relevant) and the Sub doesn’t have a mic (but given bass is supposed to be non-directional, it should matter) but it would be a nice step to simplifying/automating setup. Not sure if this is the right place for it or it’s been asked before but
My sonos is connected wirelessly and once per three songs it will cut out the music and then resume playing. My diagnostics report is ****. What is up with the connect:amp?*Moderator Note: Removed personal identifiable information from original post*
Hello, i just dropped my fathers One SL speaker on the floor, it works just fine but it got a crack on the casing, can i buy just the case or do i need to buy a new speaker? he says i dont need to repair it but i want to
The Sonos controller can “see” the shared content on my WD PR4100 via the Plex service but, unlike the Plex or Plexamp players, doesn’t provide an option to search by folder, it only allows by album, by artist, playlist, recently added, etc. There is an “Other Sources” selection at the bottom of the menu that opens up to show “Music/MyCloud PR4100, which seems like it would show the shared folders, but it’s greyed out and not activated:Is there anything I can do to activate this? Forwarding to the local port Plex uses on the private network doesn’t do it.
Raymond
I'd like to have a controller in the kitchen that guests can use to control the music and that shows now playing info. Either on the wall or on a stand. I understand that Sonos doesn't make anything like this. Has anyone else come up with a solution that they like and could share? I saw that the new Google pixel tablet has a docking station so that might be an option but don't know much about it. Thanks for any suggestions.
I have had a few forum discussions ongoing. Short summary is that SonosNet doesn’t work for me because playing an Apple Music song everywhere (9 zones over ~21 nodes) just crumbles. Totally unusable. When I use home wifi mode, music plays great but HDMI live sources are unusable. There really needs to be a setting to forcefully disable SonosNet. When I use a hybrid approach with some devices plugged into Ethernet and wifi on, the system always switches back to SonosNet. The problem is, to take one example, my Amp. It pushes live audio sources out to other zones, but has to do a minimum of 2 hops. Once to Orbi over home wifi, and then again to the other speaker. If not a third hop over the wireless backhaul. This makes no sense at all. Why can’t Amp push its data out over Ethernet and avoid the first slow/unnecessary hop?Or if SonosNet mesh could interoperate with a mesh WiFi system without making the network unstable, that would work too. I’m bringing this up because I still
Hi support, I have installed SONOS APK on my Smartphone, it working fine, but after some months I see that I can't listen music that is on my Smartphone as before ... why ? BTW I can listen Radio by the application to my SONOS.Any advice to help me ?
Sometimes I put my hand on the inside of the Sub (Gen 3) while playing a bass track to feel the vibration. Is there any risk of damaging it? Or is it pretty sturdy in regards to what I’ve described?
Anyone else still having low volume issues with ARC after update 15.4 Still not resolved .
Hello.I have looked through the questions and haven’t seen one similar but apologies if already asked (there was one 3+ yrs ag).I have 3 x Play 1 and 1 x Play5 which are NOT compatible with S2.I recently removed the Bridge and have now managed to connect directly….. well two of them.I left the third and now, when trying to add, tI go to Settings > System > Add Product and a pop up box says Sonos app needs updating before I can do anything else.Clicking update on that open a window which takes me to the S2 app and asks me to download that. I really need to just add the final Play 1 into the existing system but circumnavigating the command to update to S2.Any thoughts appreciatedThanks.
What happend? After last update the sound changed and to the worse. Not good at all 😡😡
I discovered that my surrounds weren’t playing any movie audio, so I opened up the Sonos app. I don’t really use it often. I think this is the first time I opened it this year. One of my Play:1s showed up as “Not configured”. When I clicked the wrench it said that it didn’t have the right software version or something. I mixed up which one it was on the app so I ended up unplugging the right side speaker (RS) and plugging it back in. Then I saw that one said Play:1 (LS) and the other said Play:1 with nothing. So I factory reset the LS speaker (again due to confusion) and added it back to my surround room. But I saw the same thing.I disconnected the surrounds and got a message again that the Play:1 that I just factory reset wasn’t added to my system, so I added it to my surround room again and then it recognized that both Play:1s were added to the room and asked if I wanted to make them surrounds. I got through the wizard without an issue and now both surrounds are connected; one says P
Hi Everyone, Sonos move with google assistant and YouTube music premium. While playing a song if you ask assistant to play the next song or ask what is the song name. It says nothing is playing.Anyone getting the same issue? Sonos is on the latest firmware as of 2023 July. Thanks !!
I have been trying to add a Western Digital external drive to Sonos on my Macbook. The response comes back “No path to be added as a share.” I have also tried a flash drive. Sonos can see the subfolders on both drives. Are there any permission issues here. How can I get the drives to attach to the Sonos system. The external flash drives are connected via USB (of course).
