Hi.just got the beam gen 2 - but i cannot add it to my system. It says not registered, lets fix it. Plays the chime, then i press the button at the back as instructed, and then it says “adding beam to system” then fails after couple of mins. Im using the latest version of iphone app ive reset everything router, phone, beam. I cant get hold of anyone, live chat i go up in the queue not down. completely at a loss of what to do, if they hide all features behind an app it needs to be absolutely faultless. does anyone have any ideas? it not i guess ill have to return it which is a shame, as it sounds/looks amazing Thanks in advancelouis

I have just read this article about Sonos new app: https://www.theverge.com/2024/5/9/24152675/sonos-new-app-bad-reviews-response-statementWell, your spokespersons border on arrogance towards your customers. In my case I have spent many thousands of dollars with your Sonos equipment since the very beginning of Sonos in the early 2000s. And today here is a disrespectful gesture on your part towards your customers who have helped you establish yourself as a high-end company. There was no notice before inviting us to download this new app and no apologies to customers since. I feel like an hostage now! Worse, the company is arrogant by saying that “it takes courage”!! It takes stupidity. Apart from the design of this new app, it's the biggest downgrade I've seen in my life in technology, it's downright retrograde. What was the pressure to release this new incomplete app onto the market which is a big step backwards for users by removing the alarm clock function and access to our Library.
Hello everyone I have two Sonos 5. It took me a while to write here but my speaker are not not connecting as before it use to, actually can’t se green line and do my paring. Why it is like that. It couldn’t play with lan cable. But it was playing without. Not anymore. It is a long time. I thought it was because my old company and telephone, but I have new now. Can you help?
The update killed my system. Everything I loved and recommended to my friends is gone. Years and years ago (2001 I was introduced to Sonos through our supplier of Pioneer) I spent nights burning all my CD’s and imagine digitally copying my old tapes… yes some of us not all will remember that process. I love my S1 system at home, I have an S2 system also but haven’t used it since the update, I like not paying for my music I like, my thoughts are with the update if Sonos want this system to be a pay to play system. Why don’t they cover the cost, Sonos would have know in advance what worked and what didn’t, in my business I’m responsible for my actions. The buck stops with me. Who in Sonos is willing to answer me. I’ve been a dedicated Sonos supporter for 20 plus years. I Have sold Sonos systems and helped others in the set up because I believe in this product. You’re pushing Ace and I’d say it’s fantastic but… why would I buy it knowing my S2 system is a quarter of what its fictionality
Hi everyone. I have a special birthday coming up & my wonderful wife wants to buy the Sonos Arc for me. I have a very small TV room & just wondering if this would be a problem, I really don't want to turn her down.🤣. Your comments/help would be great. Many thanks.
Tje ne update is completely focused on streaming services, but many steps back if you use a local NAS with your own music. It is not possible te search anymore??
SonosNet setup seems to be removed in the new app
Since the App update my surround speakers (Play1) have stopped working. have tried powering everything down then tried removing them but have not been able to add them back. Then tried factory resetting them added them back to the system and got message saying they were connected but when you look for them they are nt there. Tried adding back as surrounds and it can’t find them. They were fine before the App update which is awful! Tried to call tech support but says 90 minute wait don’t know what else to do.
just wanted to share my experience today with Sonos Support. It took a long time to get someone on the phone, but after I did it was great… loooong story short, when i was setting up a new sonos arc for my in-laws, it would give me an error 1101 after entering the wifi password. Support helped me manually plugging in the arc soundbar directly into our Eero main router with ethernet cable, then having to use my MacBook pro to download the sonos app and pushing an update to the arc… then after the update, i was able to unplug the soundbar ethernet cable, and place the soundbar where it was going to live, and do a factory reset, then hookup with wifi.. now it works after 60 mins on the phone with support trying many things.. but it works great now.
Since the latest update my Beam gen. 1, (S2), has lost its microphone and light, ( including Alexa voice). Also, both of my Play:1 surround speakers have no sound despite showing full connection in the app. (S2).Thanks
I have used Sonos for 7 years and have 2 Play 5’s, sub, sound bar and 2 play1’s on my TV and a Move, so I a little committed to Sonos. The new black app is a disaster, can’t control rooms or music. I called the help line and was told to disconnect the 3 WiFi discs we have in the house as Sonos is not compatible ( has been for the last 4 years) and if this fixed it I was to call BT and ask them to make the WiFi discs into Access Points, BT say this isn’t possible. I call Sonos helpline back and the operator clearly knows there’s a problem but doesn’t admit it. I’ve had no feedback or response since. When will they fix this? Why can’t we just get the old app back which worked? Was the black app tested?
After the new incredibly bad app update i cant controll the volume with phone buttons. I have to physically open up spotify or sonos app and use thr volume slider to manage it. WHY?!? Sooo bad. Jesus…
Each playback stops after some (mostly 1-3) songs with failure connection to Amazon is lost or skips a lot of songs with error „incorrect format“.No such problems before update and no status message for Amazon on the Sonos board. When will this be fixed?
The app keeps saying “sign in as a the system owner”this problem has occurred post recent app update

Sorry, but the new Sonos app is a step down from the previous! The journeys are not smooth and more convoluted than before and the app is even slower than the previous. Each time I want to use my system, I am first prompted with this screen for a long while, before my system appears. Please Sonos fix these things. Your hardware is great, but the software requires significant improvements
The Search & Browse feature in the new app is brilliant. Such a quick and easy way to search for Internet radio stations. At least, Sonos got something right with this option.
Instead of redesigning the app i think building some kind of mic or something for trueplay tuning should be more important because having to get hold of an IOS device just to tune some speakers is insane.I bought an iphone 7 just to tune my system and it received its final OS update the other day now theres a nice permanent message from SONOS in the app telling me "The OS on this device is no longer supported" and so many of the features i need are greyed out or missing. As i cant upgrade to IOS 16 on this device the new app cant be installed (and i wouldnt install it anyway having used it on my Android device) so for the 2nd time im having to buy an iphone just to tune some speakers :/Anyone able to confirm if iphone 12 on IOS 17 running the new updated app supports Trueplay. I did some digging but im reading different things, its broken, its coming soon, its not supported.
Ever since I updated the app my three units can’t be connected to play together. The app is also defaulting to the Beam, and it is very difficult to switch unless I turn units off/on several times. I’ve tried resetting the router, reinstalling the app etc. It is so frustrating as I had no problems with the old app. Has anyone else got this problem?
There is anyway to connect the tb to the ray soy bar through Bluetooth?
I accidentally charged my Sonos Ace with a USB instead of a USB - C. Might I have damaged my Sonos Ace?
I have a PLAY:1 speaker that hasn’t been connected to my Sonos system (consisting of approx. 15 speakers) for a few months or so. This means that the speaker has not received any software updates lately. In the meantime, all my other Sonos speakers have been updated AND my Android Phone has received the absolutely HORRIBLE (sorry Sonos !!!) Sonos app update.BUT: Now I’m trying to add the old PLAY:1 speaker to my system… It simply doesn’t work. I tried all of the following:I simply powered on my old PLAY:1 and hoped that it would connect to the system (via WIFI) so that I would be able to see it in the app and then update it… But I don’t see the speaker, and if I select “Add Speaker or Component”, then the “Searching for nearby products...”-window just hangs indefinitely. I tried to factory reset the PLAY:1 (power on while passing down a few buttons and waiting for flashing orange light), then I repeated the “Add Speaker or Component” procedure, but the result was the same!!! I connec
How is Spence still in his job? After single handedly bringing the sonos brand to its knees surely the shareholders must be after blood? Thousands of loyal customers have been pleading for an app that they can use to play their music on ( as for a lot of people that’s why they bought sonos hardware in the first place) The reported return of basic functions sometime in June just does not wash, we bought into sonos in good faith and now the brand is ruined, it maybe that we go back to what we paid for in June, but with Spence in control the future of sonos does not bode well.
What am i supposed to do with my Play:1 that simply won’t power up any more. Is there some troubleshooting or mystery button sequence that will reset it or something? Or will Sonos simply replace the unit?
