Along with everyone else, I trusted the Sonos QA process and upgraded to the new app when it arrived. Lesson learned on my part and shame on Sonos. There’s enough written here already about just how mind bogglingly and unfeasibly s*** the new app actually is but I haven’t seen anything mentioned yet about lagging ?Specifically, when I try to adjust the volume on my speaker using the mobile app the system refuses to accept the change and it defaults back to the previous volume settings. It’s the same on the EQ adjustments. So I try again. And the app refuses the adjustment. But then 30 seconds later the volume goes up and down and up and down again. The only way to adjust the volume or EQ is with patience. One setting at a time, until it sticks.Adjustments on volume and EQ used to be immediate no matter how many settings were being adjusted. Please, fix the latency/lagging between controller and speakers. I am old and maybe idiotic, but have had computer related technology since the late 70’s. I have 2 Fives, Arc, Boost, Sub and an old Five (gen one). Every time my router reboots as often happens with ComCastEvilEmpire and the area I live in, I have to crawl around on my hands and knees unplugging and replugging everything in. This is the only equipment I own that FAILS to automatically reconnect - all my other wifi and bluetooth devices do it automaticly. Fix your software!!!
By carefully following hints on this Community I was able to once again view my Music Library through the Sonos App. I have an older iMac and did the following: This must be done on the web based Sonos app. There is no method using IOS on iphone.Enter File settings and change sharing to SMB Give proper permissions to Sonos to view Music folder. Enter correct path-link to My Music folder. Enter the Sonos app (web based on iMac) and Add Music folder using NAS.Having done all this the following observations are made:There is no way at present of searching My Music Library through the sonos IOS app. Searching the Music Library can be done in two ways: through Spotify Library search or through Sonos search on the web based app.Good Luck to All !
Hello! I just set up a Sonos Port to my turntable and a third party speaker, but I am having sync issues when playing to the speaker and other Sonos speakers. Here's a breakdown of my set-up:AT-LP120XUSB »Rega Phono Mini A2D V2 »Sonos Port »Marshall Stanmore II Voice I would understand a delay if were running to an receiver between the Port and the Marshall speaker, but I'm going Line-Out directly to the Marshall. I've also set the Port to the all the Audio Delay options in the app without success. Is it not possible to play music Line-Out to a third-party speaker and to the Sonos simultaneously without a delay? Thanks!
My Sonos voice control won't action simple commands like set timer. I try and it makes a double sound and says there's an error use the Sonos app.I also cannot connect Alexa no matter what I do from any app. And once Bluetooth is connected to a device it will constantly try and reconnect even if the device is off. I try tapping the Bluetooth button, it turns off and then after a few seconds it tries to reconnect again. It even makes the reconnection sound though music. I have to unpair it from the connected device for it to stop.So three issues. Cannot connect Alexa, cannot use voice control for some commands and cannot stop Bluetooth from reconnecting constantly. I'm at the point where I might just take them back.
Hi everybody,I have an Arc installed on an LG OLED G2 TV (2022).Everything worked very well, until LG's WebOS update (April 2024).Since then, every time the TV is started, the sound of the Arc is jerky, cut, jerky, freeze etc....The only solution I found is to change the audio settings on the TV.I have to select “TV speakers” as audio output, then 2 seconds later I reselect “HDMI eArc”. It works but I have to do it as soon as I turn on the TV....No response from LG. Has this ever happened to anyone here?Do you have an idea to fix all this? Thanks a lot for your help!
Because there aren’t enough problems, here’s a minor one that’s just indicative of what a stupid app this is:When you search for something in Apple Music, the results automatically show you the whole service, and there isn’t another option below that which is just your library like there used to be. You need to click through to the service and then click another button to switch to your library. But wait! It gets better! Then it shows you the artist, below it are the songs, and then way below that are the albums because who listens to albums anymore? (Maybe people who are willing to spend thousands of dollars on a music listening system? Maybe?) Anyway it’s even better because when you get to the albums it doesn’t actually have all the albums you have on it. You can see the albums you have in your library in the song list, but they don’t actually show in your library! You have to actually search for the album name or go to the regular Apple Music tab… which shows every album by that art
Hi! I have a Sonos Port connected via ethernet cable, an older 2nd gen Sonos Connect, connected via ethernet cable (and wireless?), two Sonos Play 1 speakers (as a stereo pair) connected via wifi. I had everything setup and working on my network as described above. For the Connect, I had set it up on wifi and then later plugged in an ethernet cable to it. I don’t think I ever did anything to the config after plugging in the cable. Then, I replaced all of my networking equipment - routers, switches and APs. All new IP address and wifi SSIDs and passwords. I didn’t make any changes to the Sonos devices, yet all were found by the app and are working perfectly. I can understand why the Port and Connect would do this - since my phone and computer are on the same network, but how did the Play 1 stereo pair move to the new network?? I never intervened to change the SSID / password on them. Just curious how this happened? My router sees all the devices and has assigned them DHCP addresses as f
I need to down grade my play 1 gen 2 to gen 1 so I can use it on the gen one app with my gen 1 play 5
The new Sonos app installed on 5/08/24 is absolute garbage. Garbage defined:1 - when the app launches it is unable to connect to the home system I've been running for 9 years.2 - to connect to the existing home system, I'm forced to logout, login 2x to actually connect.3 - rebooting the Sonos home system doesn't resolve the above.4 - reinstalling the Sonos app does not change the experience above I'm working from a Pixel 8 Pro for any pixel users out there.Sonos engineering team: you are slippin. Get your * together.Yours underwhelmed*Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.*
This new app has rendered my six speaker system completely useless. I’ve rebooted, reinstalled, unplugged so many times I just want to throw it all away. How can a company be this careless with their customers? Never again.
Hi,I have created a custom music service for my Sonos system (via http://urlofsonoscomponent:1400/customsd.htm) to have access to a service that does not provide its own app yet. The service is still listed and accessible with the old desktop app (MacOs) but not with the new app on my phone (Android). Is this something that will also be added back in to the app like local library access?
Hi,I am referring to the following thread: In summary, it is about complaints from several users that the streaming integration of large providers into the Sonos ecosystem has not been working properly for some time. Spotify is named as the biggest player. The discussion also revealed that Spotify and Sonos have been aware of the problem for some time, but there are no plans to fix it. It also seems clear that Sonos, as the service provider, is responsible for fixing the problem and not Spotify. This is because the Spotify integration seems to work perfectly with other systems (e.g. Bose). In my personal experience, the quality of the Sonos system has deteriorated rapidly since the last major update to 80.00 two months ago. Since that update, Apple AirPlay has virtually stopped working reliably, resulting in constant dropouts on our Sonos Roam and Sonos Era 100 speakers. This cannot be a WiFi connectivity issue, as we did not experience these dropouts prior to the update. We are seeing t
So basically on the 10th June I was emailed to say they had received my speaker back and I would get a refund within 15 working days.I contacted Sonos just to double check and was told they couldn’t find my original payment of the order. I was asked to prove that I made the order, my bank statement, delivery notes and payment transactions ID from the bank. Basically they asked me for everything regarding my purchase with Sonos. They apologised saying due to system issues they couldn’t find the payment. Eventually they confirmed that I did actually pay for the item but due to further system issues they couldn’t refund to my debit card which was my original payment method. They said they could refund me via bank transfer but this comes from Luxembourg. I told them my bank, Chase UK, doesn’t accept international payments and they confirmed they understood this and ask for my bank details. I then find out they attempted to send it via international transfer. Now I have to wait for finance t
I was a very early adopter and champion of Sonos. I’ve always loved the industrial design of the hardware, the ease of use from setup to daily use and the integration strength. I’ve got a house full of your products including two full home theaters and zones in almost every room. Your recent app updates have made things slower, harder to use and removed (or broke) key features. I’m an early adopter and willing to take some usability pain, but never felt I had to with Sonos.Ease of use was so strong with Sonos that for years, I’ve been buying my older parents Sonos equipment because of how much my Mom loves music. In my recent trip to see them over the 4th, they were at a loss with the most recent app usability. Complex, cluttered, hard to navigate with the same laggy response to things like volume that I’ve also experienced. I was embarrassed that a brand that I introduced them to, had failed to provide a usable, accessible product for them to use. In the short term, I was able to get
The following is not intended as an exoneration of Sonos. However I know some will take it as such. That being said let’s begin….People in this Community are questioning why Sonos doesn’t roll back to the app version prior to this new release. There is a plausible reason why that may not be possible. One of the two may shock you. However if it was the execution used to launch the app update...right or wrong “it is what is.”There are two ways to execute (push out) an update:COMMIT ROLLBACK Contingency PlanCOMMIT means exactly what you are probably thinking that when executed there is no going back. Of course, its execution typically means a high level of confidence and/or that any bug (for lack of a better term) can be fixed over an acceptable time frame. The time frame to correct the issues may not be inline with customer expectations; but information is published (when needed) to outline the time-to-resolution for clients. Companies will weigh the bottom-line affects and deem them acc
May I suggest that everyone that has issues after the recent app update should contact the CEO asking for an urgent resolution.CEO, Patrick Spence, at ceo@sonos.comYou may get a stock reply, like I did, but at least it will be registered.
The new app is an unmitigated disaster. I think on that everyone seems to be agreeing.I’ve now rolled back to the previous version on my Android phone. Its a bit of a fiddle but can be done. Its definitely worth doing. It suggest others who are frustrated with the new version do the same.
I have hard wired speakers using Sonos Amp hard wired through a netgear switch. My house is wired in every room to this router centrally. The music cuts out for up to 10 seconds at a time often enough to become a big problem. I have already disabled WiFi and rebooted my hardware including the amp's.
This New App does not allow me to go into System Settings to change surround , bass treble , sub settings, tv, music , etc etc. Before with old app it was easy. Finally it is asking me to sign out and sign in as owner to operate these settings. Frustrating is an understatement. Tried to get old app back with no success.
Hello all,I am about to put the trigger buy the immersive set with Arc, 2x Era 300 and Sub but with all the current discussion about the application I am hesitant, is it a minority affected or it is a better strategy to wait ? Thank you!
Comment revenir à l’ancienne application sur smartphone ? La nouvelle ne fonctionne pas correctement. Moderator Edit: Adding translation by Google Translate- How to return to the old application on smartphone? The news is not working properly.
I would think that most people are streaming over the internet as opposed to pc and mac.Perhaps they are getting a kick back to force more people to stream over the internet for advertisingand other services. Why else would they treat people who purchased equipment from them so poorly? The old adage: No good deed goes unpunished. error code 913
I was an evangelist for this brand, and I have to go back to everyone and tell them to stay far, far away. The new app sucks. The sonos compatibility with just about everything sucks. Things that WERE working will just stop, malfunction and never work again. For whatever reason, my Airplay now requires me to unplug the arc before it’ll even see it at all. Every time.Random audio dropouts happen that didn’t happen when I bought the product, or I would’ve returned it.Since using the new app and installing the Arc update, the Sub and Surrounds cannot be found. About to do factory reset on everything. The only reason I got this Arc/Sub/Surrounds that it was easy to use and set up. Well, it’s only problems from here on out. Stay far away.
