Hi everybody,
I have an Arc installed on an LG OLED G2 TV (2022).
Everything worked very well, until LG's WebOS update (April 2024).
Since then, every time the TV is started, the sound of the Arc is jerky, cut, jerky, freeze etc....
The only solution I found is to change the audio settings on the TV.
I have to select “TV speakers” as audio output, then 2 seconds later I reselect “HDMI eArc”. It works but I have to do it as soon as I turn on the TV....
No response from LG. Has this ever happened to anyone here?
Do you have an idea to fix all this?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Hi @Pogz, welcome to the Sonos Community!

Since this happened after you updated the LG WebOS, then it’s safe to say the issue lies there and I doubt there’s anything we could offer to help fix this issue.

Contacting LG is the best step here and hopefully they can help you get this resolved quickly. However, until they get back to you, try connecting the Sonos Arc to the LG TV via the optical adapter that came with the Sonos Arc. If that resolves the issue you can keep it connected that way until LG get back to you. You wont get Dolby Atmos this way but you’ll still get Dolby Digital (5.1 surround) and don’t have to fiddle with the TV settings every time.

I hope this helps!

Hi @Jamie A ,

Thanks for your answer !

I’ll connect my Sonos Arc with optical adapter, it’s a good idea while waiting for LG’s anser …

I hope they come back to me quickly ..

Thanks again !

Almost the same problem i have except my audio is completely off until I switch to TV speaker. Then in a few seconds eArc kicks in on its own and everything works, until I turn the TV off. Also, I did a Sonos update around the same time, so to say it's strictly and LG issue may not be correct.

I have the exact same issue. I know that this is not the LG forum, but I wonder if it is possible to rollback the TV software to the old version with the older webOS.

Do you also use Apple TV 4K 2nd gen? I think this is what causes the issue.

I tried playing a Atmos movie within LG webOS and I did not have any audio issues.

Or… the issue is related to the HDMI ports or something. I must try with another external device other than Apple TV.

I now tried Atmos content through PS5 and I had no issues. Must be Apple TV related combined with the webOS update some how…

Correction on my last post, there is audio issues with PS5 as well.

I am talking to LG support. I will keep you updated how things goes.

I think my issue is my LG tv (G1 oled) was randomly stating hdmi 1 and 2 were both Apple TV but HDMI 2 is the Sonos arc, I went into universal control settings and deleted that info and reprogrammed it as Sonos and now seems to be working as expected.
