Hi, I just got 80.11.32 on Android and found a weird / buggy behavior. I was particularly excited about this item in the release notes:Improved performance when browsing content in Home and in Browse on AndroidWhat I found is the opposite. When I change from another app to Sonos it now refreshes everything and takes some time to load back. When I am on Now Playing if I switch to another app and come back to Sonos, then the screen is refreshed with a black Playback Activity screen, then it changes to Your System, showing all my speakers, and then it updates with my system name. I doesn't come back to Now Playing and I need to click on the speaker I was listening to.Frustrating, specially after today's Nick Millington update posted by @Marco.B
I’ve had Sonos devices for years now. Generally, they have been pretty good, but since the S2 app was launched, it has been a truly awful experience. I see lots of complaints about the app, so it isn’t just me.Are we going to see improvements or is it time to sell my kit and find something better?
So what brand of speakers are people moving to now that sonos have become completely useless crap? JBL seems like quality, the speakers atleast sound much much better than anything sonos has to offer, i am personally thinking of something along those lines. Looking for reccomendations, and who better to ask than former sonos gear owners and user 😊
Helping my parents at their new house. They have Sonos Arc Soundbar with Architectural Speakers. The system when playing music from the Sonos app or phone play on all speakers (soundbar and architectural speakers). However, when watching TV, only the soundbar plays the TV audio. Have tried a bunch of things recommended on the internet with no luck.
I had heard that with iOS 18 there would be some changes in Airplay which allows you to stream Dolby Atmos (spatial audio) music directly from the Apple Music app to third party speakers like the Sonos Arc. Doesn’t seem to be the case right now even with yesterday’s release of 18.1. Anyone heard anything? I’d like to use the Music app with my Sonos system but don’t want to lose the Dolby Atmos.
Fabrice Moderator Note - Translation by Google:Good morning,I am lucky to have an apartment and a house and I go from one to the other. Both places are equipped with Sonos. When I arrive at the house or apartment, when I want to connect to my Sonos system, I get a message that says “Your system has not been detected on the Livebox-8E88 network” and, in below, a message that t
I am no longer able to play multiple songs from Apple Music. It only plays one song at a time. I have thousands of songs in my Apple Music library and they used to play at a random setting. Now I can only hear 1 song and it ends and I have to manually go into my phone to choose another song
Prior to the May Sonos app update, in Sonos Radio podcasts had a forward and reverse option of around 10-30 seconds to skip ahead or skip back. This option was great if I wanted to re-listen to something in the podcast that I missed or wanted to hear again for clarification. Now the only option is to skip to the beginning or end of the podcast or trying to go back 10 seconds by scrolling with the play bar which is difficult to be accurate by more than a few minutes. Does anyone know if Sonos plans to bring back the 10 - 30 second skip forward and back in future updates or am I stuck with trying to scroll back with the the play bar? Thanks all
Is there anyway to get email notification from Sonos when they have availability of refurbished items, in my case in after 2 Era 300 white?
Hi,I recently upgraded my Internet to Starlink with a Gen 2 Router. As a result, I lost SONOS connectivity. To restore SONOS connectivity, I put the Gen 2 Router into Bypass mode and reinstalled my old Billion Router. Whilst SONOS connectivity was restored, I don’t have the WIFI Range or WIFI speed that the Gen 2 Router provided. So, I’m now looking to upgrade my Gen 2 Router to either a new Gen 3 Router or a 3rd Party Mesh Router. My question is:Does anyone have direct experience connecting SONOS devices using the new Starlink Gen 3 Router? If I can be assured of this then I’ll go SONOS Gen 3, if not then I’ll have to look for a 3rd solution. I just don’t want to spend the money on a solution that may not work.CheersDanny
Last night I tried for over 2 hours to connect my older play 5 and Play 1’s to my system. I tried the factory reset at least a half dozen times. Plugged them into the Ethernet. Changed the network over a dozen times and absolutely will not connect to my app. I read the older models will not handle the recent updates. And I e read dozens of complaints about this is varios sites and blogs. So does that mean the older models are obsolete? I paid a lot of money for these speakers way back when and this is total nonsense if that’s true. Offering a 15-30% discount to trade them in is also ridiculous. These speakers should connect and last a life time. Sonos is FORCING us to by new speakers. I call this a scam and suggest it may be time to file a class action suit against the company.
I have hr church bells that come on each hour and some rings are only 20 seconds. Etc and play for a whole minute since it only allows minutes. I it should be very easy to also add seconds. I know I must be the only one out of the 20 million users that ever have church bells that come in on the hour but it be very nice to be able to have it in seconds since all of my clocks alarm Bells come on for seconds not minutes
I am not getting Dolby Atmos at home. My setup consists of a Sonos Arc, Sub, and 2 Era 300 surrounds. I have the highest subscription to Netflix and a Samsung 4K TV from 2017 (UN65MU6300). When using Netflix on my television most of the movie/series titles produce 5.1. When I select any of the content that is displayed in 5.1 and I go to my TV settings, the highest audio output that is produced is Dolby Digital+ which I imagine is not the same as Dolby Atmos. Am I not receiving Dolby Atmos because I have an older TV, or does this not play a factor? Do I need a TV that has can broadcast in Dolby Atmos? Thank you in advance for your feedback.
Whenever I turn off my TV, my Sonos arc always resets itself back to zero on the volume scale. So I ways have to grab my remote and turn the volume back up to what I want it to be.How can I prevent us so it just keeps the same volume on when I turn the TV on? TV is: VIZIO 75-Inch P-Series 4K QLED HDR Smart TV w/Voice Remote, Dolby Vision, 4K 120Hz Gaming, Alexa Compatibility, P75Q9-J01, 2022 Model
Hello SONOS development team and beloved SONOS users,I have been using SONOS Roam for about a year and have been truly impressed by its excellent sound quality. As a result, I decided to replace my PC speaker setup with SONOS speakers as well. My current setup includes a Beam and two One SLs, and my primary purpose is to enjoy music while working on my PC and to watch online live performances. However, there is one dissatisfaction I have. The issue is that when playing audio from my PC, the rear One SLs do not play in full range. When playing music through the SONOS app, I can choose whether to play the surround speakers in full range or in ambient mode. However, when playing audio from my PC (i.e., in TV mode), this option is not available. After researching this issue, I found the following post in the SONOS community. It explains that full-range support in TV mode is not available in order to sync the audio with the actors' lip movements. https://en.community.sonos.com/home-theater-22
I’m experiencing weird crackling noise and distortion on a new Port through SPDIF output (streaming from Spotify). It sounds like digital clipping, and is most noticeable on low volume parts of songs.its not always there, sometimes it starts playing without it, but it always appears after a short while (or maybe I start noticing it after a while).output is set to “fixed” in the app, like recommended for use with external DACs, but in other modes the noise is also present.Sound from analog output is fine, but I bought Port to use with my own DAC, and don’t want to use analog output.I’ve never experienced anything like that with any other digital components.I tried connecting to 2 different DACs and also tried to pass Port’s spdif signal through a reclocker and also through spdif to toslink optical converter. Did not help. (All devices are known to work fine with other sources)Has anyone experienced anything like that? Do you think my unit is broken/DOA?any advise would be appreciated.tha
After expending over $5,000 on Sonos equipment and numerous monthly subscriptions, the system has proven to be unusable. I have engaged a law firm to initiate legal action against Sonos and its CEO for fraudulent misrepresentation and false claims regarding the services this product line was purported to provide.Thank you. The title of the post says it all, ladies and gentlemen.
I am about to move to a new house soon which will involve resetting my current system (as above title) and planning a media wall etc .. though this is exciting for me I have never really been a tech guy to sort best optimised usage for what I have, I would really like to know if the speakers I have would all work together maybe as a 5.1.. is this possible? Also would be very grateful for any room setup tips.. the new room to be has an unused standard fireplace/ chimney that protrudes forward with 2 alcoves either side.. and the room is about 12ft square....
I have to re-add all of my speakers to my system each time I want to use them, and most of the time, they don’t show up and won’t connect. I have spent hours on the phone with support over multiple calls, and no one has a resolution. This system is a waste of money, especially since the sound quality doesn’t come close to other systems.
Cannot update Sonos, Error Code 1: Sub.This is with the S2 Sonos app. I have 2 rooms with Sonos equipment in them.In my main room, I have 1 no. Sonos TV Soundbar, 2 no. Sonos Play 1s & a Sub.In my other room, I have 1 no. Sonos 1 paired with a Sonos 1 SL & a Sub.When first clicking on ‘Check for software updates’ on the ‘Manage’ tab, when the update gets to ‘finishing,’ I am told I have an update problem.’There was a problem during the update of your Sonos system.’’Select ‘Try again’ to repeat the update.’I can try this for time immemorial, but it still does not finish updating. When I click on ‘More information,’ I get ‘Error code 1: Sub.’ If I click on the ‘For more information, see’ link, I get a range of updated ideas to try. What I have tried:Retry the update. That does not work. Reboot your router. That did not work. What I haven’t tried:Reboot your Sonos products. Although I haven’t tried this yet, the initial ‘Error code 1: Sub,’ does that mean I should unplug the Subs fir
Have correct app on latest version as are all my Sonos products. I have a Sonos one in the bedroom where the status light is turned off so not to disturb us while sleeping. However it keeps turning back on and even though I deselect it again in the app, once again it comes back on, very annoying. Any pointers to help 🤔 Thanks
I cannot connect to any of my Sonos products and do not want to spend hours on each separate component to connect
Hey Sonos, instead of constantly coming out with new products. How bout you fix the backbone of your user experience. every five minutes my game room is no longer seen on the app, all music stops and I have to login and talk to customer support. If I knew this I would have never bought your system, sound is great but user interface blows. Get your shit together!
In prior releases of the Sonos iPhone application we were able to change the listening volume via the iPhone buttons. Many other iPhone applications are able to provide this functionality, please allow the Sonos application to do the same.
